A private Irish estate situated in tranquil surroundings close to the southern coast of the sea in rural County Cork Ireland. The accommodation is comprised of several stone outbuildings which have been attractively converted into five self catering cottages and apartments, each of individual character. The estate consists of a classic Georgian country house with a considerably older wing, stone outbuildings, mellow walled gardens and woodlands all set in grounds of over ten acres.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed here for a week at the beginning of May 2010. We had the Garden Studio, my brother and wife were at Cherry Tree Cottage, and if the volcanic ash hadn't drifted back, the rest of my family would have been in Rose Cottage. Our booking was handled extremely helpfully by Nicola, the manager, who lives on site if the owners (also charming) are away.
She has all the local knowledge, and really enhanced our stay. She's also the estate's gardener - and the walled garden provided us with wonderful purple sprouting broccoli, leeks, and rhubarb while we were there.
The cottages are ideal for a family group - close to each other but separate for a bit of personal space! The 4 of us were able to take it in turns to cook / eat at each others' pad - plenty of space, chairs, crockery, utensils etc. All units have cookers, toasters, kettles and microwaves.
Both beds were comfortable, and warm too. There is a heating/hot water clock which is set, but you can override if you need to. All included. Rose Cottage has a fireplace - logs provided!
The Studio has a (good, tho' not state of the art) shower, loo, basin.
Cherry Tree has a bath with shower over, loo, basin.
Rose Cottage has a bathroom with bath (shower over? I think so...) and loo, basin etc. downstairs; the two bedrooms are upstairs, both with a double bed, and one has a single bed as well. There is also a shower / loo/ basin upstairs.
The photos on their website are good, except that the furniture in the sitting area of Cherry Tree has changed - now 2 small sofas instead of the chairs. Also, the outside photo doesn't do justice to Cherry Tree - it has a charming garden outside at the front, with table and chairs - bro' and wife sat out there for breakfasts...
We liked the extra feeling of space at the Studio, with it's open plan layout.
The area is just lovely - restaurants/pubs easy driving to Courtmacsherry or Timoleague (particularly recommend Dillons at Timoleague, not cheap, but really good food, well presented.) - 10 mins max.
Lislee House is actually at Lislee Temple, just south of Courtmacsherry. great walks from the door,(including to the local beach) and over the Seven Heads.
Very friendly locals. Our whole holiday was a delight - and it hardly rained! Blue skies and sunshine.
The cottages are not ultra modern, perhaps a little worn around the edges - but this is reflected in the prices, and they are very comfortable. We would return like a shot.
I shouldn't really be recommending them - want to keep this hidden gem to ourselves!!
