Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed in this hotel recently for two nights. However, Covid protocols were sadly lacking and we did not feel safe. We would have left but had no alternative accommodation on this occasion.
First of all, at the check in desk, there was signage stating that all guests were required to show their covid certificates but we were not asked for them? At the entrance to the dining and bar areas there was a sanitizing station and a book to sign in when entering. However, there was no supervision of this requirement and people just passed it by in most cases. Furthermore, customers were allowed to walk around the area without wearing facemasks.
On the positive side, the room was comfortable and reasonably clean ( I noticed that the carpet between the bedside locker and the bed had not been cleaned for some time as I saw two used nasal sprays on the floor).
The rest of the room and the bathroom were spotless.
The hotel staff were fantastic and could not have been more friendly and helpful and the food ( breakfast) was excellent.
We left the hotel early each morning, returning only at night and left the room windows open throughout the day.
This 3 star hotel has the potential for excellence however Management need to take their responsibilities much more seriously and protection of their guests from C19 infection must be their number one priority.
We will not stay there again while the pandemic lasts!

Stayed one night at the Munster Arms Hotel to be close to a business appointment the next day. I arrived quite late at 8pm and as I checked in was asked if I’d like to order food, which I did - food was good quality and big portions. Staff were very attentive. My bedroom was spacious, the bed very comfy - there was no outside noise and very quiet. Breakfast menu is varied and again delicious. The owners served breakfast and were attentive, nothing too much trouble. Overall the hotel was a good place to stay, although some of the hallways were abit tired and room numbering a bit strange eg 211 was next to 220 there were no big issues. It was nice to be supporting local owners rather than corporates and I would stay here again.

Stopped off in The Munster Arms for some food on return from a trip around the area. We had a great steak served as requested. We ate in the bar, service was good and atmosphere was enjoyable. It was a quiet evening in the town, but enjoyable none the less.

It is surprising to me that the Munster Arms Hotel is slipping with the implementation of the infection control for Covid-19. I have called there regularly for lunch down through the years. Good food at reasonable prices always, and in covid times, covid controls were always in place. Unfortunately, this was not the case when I called on my last visit. Nobody asked if I had my Digital COVID Certificate, and as I watched other customers coming for lunch they were not asked to present them either. When I mentioned this fact to one of the staff it seemed that they had two types of customer; 1. Vigilantes or 2. Agressive Covid skeptics, and as a result I conclude that the staff have given up implementing government requirements, perhaps from fear of losing regular customers? To make matters worse one person was smoking an e-cigarette in the dining area, and they didn't bother stopping when they were told by a laughing member of staff that someone had complained..... I am sad to say that I wont be returning any day soon.

Visiting Cork to see family and friends after a long absence, courtesy of the pandemic! Met up with my partner’s mother and aunt for a spot of lunch at The Munster Arms in Bandon. We were all bowled over with the fabulously delicious food. One of the best ‘bacon & cabbage’ meals I have ever had. Really generous portions and the food, for everyone in my group, was quite positively sublime. All of this was made more special by the lovely and very hard working serving staff. Special mention must be made to our waitress, Lucy; she was an absolute star - friendly, efficient, professional and engaging, all in equal measure. Whilst there are a number of eateries in Bandon, which we are ready to explore or reacquaint ourselves with, given the hugely positive experience at The Munster Arms, we will most definitely be dining here again during our two week holiday in West Cork.

Had a family gathering here recently. There was over 130 family and friends attended for a family funeral. It was terrible. The food was nice & most of the staff were lovely but not trained enough. That toilets needed attention & the staff were alerted but nothing was done.
The owner did not make himself known to the widow and when she said this to him a few days later he treated her very badly, I won't say what he said but what he did to an elderly widow who was after burying her husband is beyond belief!
It is such a shame that a lovely hotel has an owner who is not a nice business man. 😓

We recently took a weekend break to The Munster Arms in West Cork and enjoyed it immensly. The newly refurbished reception and bar are so inviting and the staff are amazingly friendly. It wasn't even that expensive. We found it to be the perfect stop on the gateway to West Cork

One of the worst hotels I have ever booked. I ended up leaving due to the dirt and dust in the hotel. We were given the key to a room that was not cleaned, there was a full pint glass of alcohol beside the bed, dirty towels in the bath and a lamp shade that was side ways on a bedside lamp, there was dust everywhere. The bed was made but it was very obvious that someone had been lying on it. Our second room was just as bad. We could write our names in the dust on all the surfaces. There was a child's sock hanging down from the radiator. The light fixture was ready to fall from the ceiling. The floor looked like it hadn't been hovered in months. We left the hotel and booked another hotel. I would never recommend this hotel and would never stay here again.

Stayed here two nights last week and its a decent no frills place!! Staff were extremely friendly & helpful, rooms clean (and massive with jacuzzi!) and quiet. Think some people on here are really fussy but shud judge it on €80 hotel incl breakfast (which btw was one of the best i've had in a long time! Asked at reception for an hour extra before checkout in morning, no problem, no extra charge!!! U GET WHAT U PAY FOR PEOPLE!!!
