First of all, at the check in desk, there was signage stating that all guests were required to show their covid certificates but we were not asked for them? At the entrance to the dining and bar areas there was a sanitizing station and a book to sign in when entering. However, there was no supervision of this requirement and people just passed it by in most cases. Furthermore, customers were allowed to walk around the area without wearing facemasks.
On the positive side, the room was comfortable and reasonably clean ( I noticed that the carpet between the bedside locker and the bed had not been cleaned for some time as I saw two used nasal sprays on the floor).
The rest of the room and the bathroom were spotless.
The hotel staff were fantastic and could not have been more friendly and helpful and the food ( breakfast) was excellent.
We left the hotel early each morning, returning only at night and left the room windows open throughout the day.
This 3 star hotel has the potential for excellence however Management need to take their responsibilities much more seriously and protection of their guests from C19 infection must be their number one priority.
We will not stay there again while the pandemic lasts!
The owner did not make himself known to the widow and when she said this to him a few days later he treated her very badly, I won't say what he said but what he did to an elderly widow who was after burying her husband is beyond belief!
It is such a shame that a lovely hotel has an owner who is not a nice business man. 😓
