Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We just spent a weekend in this small boutique hotel in Ballybunion. What made it was the extremely friendly staff. We had a wonderful meal and their breakfasts are amazing. We would definitely recommend it.

Stayed here for two nights together with a friend for a golfing trip. The hotel is located just 2km from the Ballybunion Club House and is newly renovated. The rooms are quite small but confortable. Excellent breakfast and swrvice in the reception.

This hotel is right by the sea which has wonderful views. The rooms are really good, with a modern take, great after a long day. The staff are simply wonderful, couldn't do enough for us. The food is also very good & the breakfast will last you all day !! Would definitely stay again, highly recommended.

Lovely boutique hotel on Ballybunion seafront. Just a one night stop for myself and partner, but we were very impressed by the work that had been put in to make it modern and cosy. Staff are very friendly, food was decent (had dinner and breakfast). Didn't use the bar or other facilities. Free parking opposite, but make sure to ask at reception to open the gate

The Marine now has a bar and a piano, like the old days. We had our dinner at a lovely window table overlooking the Wild Atlantic . The service was attentive, friendly and efficient. Food was delicious, We will be back.

Had the pleasure of being the first overnight guests post the renovation - we had a great stay. Love the new rooms, all the staff were so welcoming, dinner was excellent and it was all topped off with wonderful glass of Midleton. Looking forward to visiting again next time we are in the area.

We went there for a family dinner after lovely day on a beach. I must say The Marine Restaurant is definitely the worst one we have been to. After we were sat down we waited about 20 minutes for someone to take our order. They did not even offer us drinks. I must add that the restaurant was not busy when we were there and we were not the only people waiting. We ordered blackcurrant juice but what we got was far from it- it was water with a dash of juice. When they brought our starter 20 minutes later it was not what we ordered. It took half an hour between starter and main course. For mains we had fillet steaks and pasta for our daughter. Fillet steak was ok but definitely not worth the price. Pasta portion was very small even for an 8 year old. In general, we were very disappointed with the service and quality of food. Do not recommend!!!

After walking the Long Strand - one of our favourites - we were very happy to see the Marine was open for Sunday Lunch (in February) and we gave it a go. We were very pleasantly surprised - the food was excellent, we shared their Calamari starter and tried their Burger and Chicken Kiev mains. Both were really tasty. Service was very friendly and helpful and we got a nice table at the window.

Ringing last minute to book a table on a bank holiday wkend can normally lead to a disaster however this was far from the case. We were accommodated and a table was ready for us in minutes. Great menu choices and I must say the food was amazing. I opted for hake with prawns and crab claws and it was to die for! The service was also fantastic,i will defo be going back
