This lovely room was added during the shutdown. What a lovely job they did! These windows give an almost 180-degree view and it's wonderful.

We stayed a full week in this beautiful home and it was wonderful. The grounds are stunning. The house is decorated in a way that welcomes visitors and makes them comfortable. It is expertly done with interesting wall hangings and decorative items. We had a view of a field across the road where horses grazed! Penny is a dream host: gracious, warm, friendly, and lovely to talk to. Her homemade breakfasts are delicious (so many choices) and her soda bead is "grand." I would highly recommend this place. It is not to be missed.

Oh my gosh, I just don't have enough time in the day or enough words to express how wonderful this place is!
My two girlfriends and I were running late and left a message in the vain (we thought) hope that we would still have a bed to sleep in that night. When we finally arrived around 9:30 pm or so, Penny and Kevin had waited up and were the most lovely, gracious people! Penny assured us of our room and sent us along to Durty Nelly's for dinner saying their kitchen was probably closed but she was sure the folks there would find something for us.
Penny was right! They rounded up some off-menu ham sandwiches for "The Girls" and some chips. Went down well with our Guinness. ;)
Our stay at Dunaree was fabulous. Beautiful place inside and out with lovely views. The breakfast was also amazing! We happened to be the only guests and the breakfast spread must have been the usual as there was SO much to choose from!
I hope to go back to Ireland someday and if I do, I WILL be staying here again.

This was by far the best place we stayed at during our trip to Ireland. I wish we could have stayed more than one night. The house and grounds are beautiful. Our room was comfortable, spacious, and clean. Penny was very helpful, welcoming, and her homemade breakfast was delicious.

We arrived at Dunaree at 6am, our rooms were ready and perfect. We grabbed 4 hrs of sleep and headed to Old Adare for 18 holes. After a great day on the course we were greeted back at Dunaree by Penny who could not have been a more gracious host. She prepared to order a great breakfast each morning and was helpful in every way possible. If you are around Shannon you will be lucky to get a room at Dunaree as her 5 star ratings just keep piling up and are well deserved.

We so enjoyed staying at Dunaree when we were in Bunratty! The house is warm and cozy and beautifully decorated. The hosts are so friendly and accommodating - Penny dropped us off at Bunratty castle before the banquet and also made taxi arrangements for the next day and Kevin picked us up at Bunratty castle after the late banquet.
Highly recommend staying here when you're in Bunratty!

Penny was such a charming host. The rooms were very comfortable and plenty of hot water. Very convenient to visit Bunratty Castle. The house and grounds are so lovely but nothing compares to Penny. Breakfast was very good and she was such great company. We had such fun visiting with her we wished we had another night.

Dunaree B&B, just down the road from Bunratty Castle and the Folk Park, is a little gem of a place. Nothing is too much trouble for Penny O'Conner, the owner. She made bookings for us to attend a traditional Irish evening at the nearby Corn Barn (this was all done via phone while we were on our way to Bunratty) and she made us feel extremely welcome and relaxed the minute we arrived.

The house itself is modern and spacious and the rooms (I think there are five in total) are very clean and attractively decorated with nice furnishings and attractive fabrics. There are no TVs in the room, but you can watch the TV in the livingroom downstairs. The breakfasts are delicious and plentiful and Penny will do anything she can to help make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Our only regret is that we didn't stay at this charming B&B for another night! We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

We knew we cannot go wrong with Dunaree B&B based on other travelers reviews. And it proved to be so true. It is a little tricky to find the road where is located, (just like any other address in Ireland!) that is why I attach a photo that will show you where to turn from the main street. The location is perfect, you cannot ask for more, 10 minutes easy and wonderful walk from Bunratty castle, even at night, in complete darkness, it was like in a fairy tale. The road is framed by trees and beautiful houses.
Dunaree itself is one example of such nice and inviting architecture, so beautifully placed in a middle of a deep green landscape, with a grandiose driveway, it makes you feel you enter another kingdom. The inside of the B&B itself is not luxurious, the bedrooms and baths are rather small, but is very clean and well taken care of. You feel just like home. And to top it all, Penny, the host, is absolutely amazing, so kind, full of energy and always smiling.
She makes the breakfast according to each guest needs which I found to be very considerate of her part.
The price is very convenient for such a nice and heartwarming place. Highly recommended!

Dunaree was our last stop in Ireland before we left for home. Penny was a great host. Our rooms were large and comfortable. Penny was helpful in recommending places to eat and things to see. Highly recommend.

Not knocking this B&B but a warning for those of you travelers who aren't entirely comfortable with staying in a family's home, much as if you were crashing at a relative's house. Guests stay just feet away from the owners' and their son's room, and you may feel uncomfortable leaving your room, even though there's no television. It is a strange set-up. i felt like I was sleeping over a friend's house when in high school. Nothing protecting you except a door knob lock which didn't seem to work. If it weren't so close the airport, I wouldn't have stayed. Try the villa down the street - more of a proper set-up.
