Accomadation booking cancelled by hotel week before trip. The poor receptionist was given the job of calling people and telling them this excuse, " we got a call from the government, we have to give your room to refugees!". Complete lies. Found out hotel was never open to public as it was being used for refugees and they should never have taken my booking back in July. After reading the reviews of the hotel on various sites I pity the refugees that have to stay there! Do your research before you stay!

Went to the sands on Sunday 8th may for food. Ordered cod goujons and chips for three people. What came out next was horrendous. Fish fingers and a handful of chips. Advertising cod goujons and giving Fish Fingers and for a high enough price to. Will certainly not be returning and I won't be recommending it to anyone. Service was terrible also and it was a very unclean place 0/10 from us.

My 19 year old daughter had booked hotel for 5 nights to attend a memorial service/month's mind mass for a very close friend of hers who had passed away and paid up front almost €600. Money she had saved hard for. Hotel cancelled the booking and said a refund would take a few weeks to get sorted and would not be refunded in time to allow my daughter to make alternative arrangements for herself at short notice. The reason given was hotel was taking in Ukranian refugees instead. I contacted the hotel by phone twice explaining my daughter's situation and asked if they could speed up a refund or help secure alternative accommodation in the circumstances and both times was promised a call back by the relevant manager but heard nothing at all. I am a hospitality professional myself so asked nothing unreasonable and expected a professional response. Got absolutely no apologies, assistance or response whatsoever. One can only assume a big payday from government is more important than helping inconvenienced guests. Steer clear folks. They dont care about paying guests when easy money comes along.…

Officially the worse every hotel I've ever stayed at from the time I parked in the car park its dated delapidated unfortunately it should be closed up they say the kitchen is under construction but I'd have my reservations about that . toilets leaking all over the floors carpets smelling like sour milk . Buckets collecting water from the ceiling price dose not reflect the stay. Young staff who have no experience when dealing with complaints. I would love Causeway group held accountable for their lack of customer appreciation or appreciation of the people of tramore . This hotel should be removed from all platforms while it's in the state .

Unsure what all the recent reviews are about. Yes, the place could do with a facelift, but from working in hospitality myself I know the expense of that. From what I could see it was clean, you could smell the cleaning products walking around. Our room was a decent size. The menu was limited but again, from working in hospitality I can imagine that was to save costs and waste, the food was decent and portions were huge. And the staff were unparalleled. Would easily stay here again, no qualms. Also. Regarding the cost. It’s a standard enough cost for a room at the weekend. Not to mention having being closed for so long. Let a business recoup some money! Very happy with our stay

Extremely disappointed with the service here, it has gone downhill from the last time we were here. My family and I went for some dinner from the start something was wrong. The second we ordered off the menu we had to pay, ive never heard anything like that. After making a choice our server convinced me to try todays special - a chicken burger. when it came out it looked fine nothing amazing but after biting into it the texture was off and cold I was absolutely gobsmacked when I looked at the burger to find it was complete raw chicken mince. It was like the chef just seared and sealed the burger then covered it in cheese. After explaining what happened we didn’t even get a sorry. I asked for a refund which I didn’t get because the server was adamant to serve another dish and of course it was cold and bland. Wouldn’t step foot in here again!…

Omg what a horrible hotel very overpriced for the standards first impression was shocking reception, dining area & breakfast room need to be updated badly the carpets & floor filthy, bedrooms just as bad carpets vile ,the dining experience dreadful the dinner food menu very disappointing & very limited option & dirty cutlery, the lift did not work from the buttons inside for level one you had to get someone to go to level 1 & press it up & we were only told this after we complained . On a positive note the breakfast was lovely served by a lovely girl called Sophie the staff were lovely Rebecca,Chelsea,Aaron & the manager Richie Only for we had paid & couldn't get another hotel at short notice we would have left, I know the hotel industry has been hit big time with covid but their is no need for dirt Adrienne Finan…

I am sad to be writing this as I know the hospitality sector has been severely hit by the pandemic but there are no excuses for charging an arm and a leg for a below average experience. I booked a night away for myself as a birthday treat I had always wanted to do a night away by myself. Booked the sands as it was a handy location but how disappointed I was. Firstly I paid 170 euro for 1 night which is extortion based on my experience. I could have booked into a luxury hotel for that price. The room itself was ok at first sight It was clean and bright. But it was extremely warm all night and with the noise from within the hotel and from outside, it was impossible to sleep. The communal areas such as hallways and stairs were filthy and paint spilled on carpets everywhere. I came down for breakfast after not sleeping well to a minimalist cereal and fresh pastry section and you could order a cooked bfast. I ordered rashers sausages eggs and mushrooms. It looked nice when it came out but the eggs were brown underneath and the whites were still raw on top and the mushrooms appeared to be deep fried and they were so greasy. The coffee wasn't great either. I wouldn't complain if I had of paid 60 or 70 euro for the night but 170, I feel robbed. I should have read the reviews on here before booking but lesson learned. Would not recommend it to anyone.…

Whilst clean and very helpful staff this hotel needs major updating, it is very old fashioned...an actual key to open bedroom door, no phone n room, old furniture painted...fine for 1 night stay but not for few nights with cases on floor, tiny bathroom, 1 chair, there was no comfort. Breakfast only OK also
