Myself and my partner went to Tramore for a day trip on Sunday. We spotted this hotel and decided to go in for a bite to eat and a beverage. First off we were met at the door by a very rude member of staff taking contact tracing details. There was also staff members bringing out food through the front doors while people were trying to go in through the same door. It was a safety hazard if anything. We were eventually brought out to their back. On the walk through the hotel, the closer we got to the restrooms, the more of a smell we got. It was absolutely disgusting. The toilets definitely hadn't been deep cleaned in a while. We went and sat on one of the benches outside. There was only 4 tables, including ourselves, waiting to be served. I tried to get the waitress attention after 10 minutes waiting, but no joy. So I went up to the counter and asked for menus, the lady told me that she'd bring them to the table to us. So I thanked her and went back to my seat. A further 10 minutes went by and not one person even came to take a drink order. There was 4 staff members floating around chatting to eachother. Myself and my partner eventually got up and just left. I would completely understand if they were busy, but if they have time to stand and chat among themselves, then they have time to serve the few tables they have! I'm a supervisor of a restaurant for the last 5 years and I've never witnessed service like I did Sunday. We definitely will not be returning here again!

So this is an honest review. The outdoor areas were great full of holiday spirit and atmosphere. The music probably Spotify was current and uplifting. The staff were attentive, friendly and chatty. The cocktails were gorgeous, drinks tower impressive. Bar food was good but just that standard (bar food) the breakfast was amazing and totally worth trying. Loads of everything couldn't finish it. The room was clean and spacious and everything provided even on day 2 we found a bag of extra towels, toiletries, tea bags etc. Outside our door. Yes the communal areas and hallways are a little dated but all in all a great stay and would love to stay here again .

Shannon, Caoimhe, Vytaute, Laurie and Alex are fantastic staff, always happy and friendly. Great service always fast and quick. They are always making sure every customer is looked after. The best craic to have while you’re having a drink! I wouldn’t go anywhere else for a drink, I can always count on the staff at the sands for a great day/night even in the most stressful of moments, such as today. #payriseforthesandshuns

Absolutely terrible experience in the Shanty bar. A tussle broke out and was egged on by the staff particularly 1 arrogant staff member who was clearly enjoying taunting and making the situation worse. Badly handled by management, food appalling, service atrocious and staff extremely arrogant and rude. Place filthy. Disgraceful.
