So this is an honest review. The outdoor areas were great full of holiday spirit and atmosphere. The music probably Spotify was current and uplifting. The staff were attentive, friendly and chatty. The cocktails were gorgeous, drinks tower impressive. Bar food was good but just that standard (bar food) the breakfast was amazing and totally worth trying. Loads of everything couldn't finish it. The room was clean and spacious and everything provided even on day 2 we found a bag of extra towels, toiletries, tea bags etc. Outside our door. Yes the communal areas and hallways are a little dated but all in all a great stay and would love to stay here again .

We stopped here for some dinner in busy Tramore. We weren't familiar with the area and would recommend booking somewhere in advance. The service was really friendly. The menu was a bit limited, but I understand on a busy summers day trying to cope with all covid 19 has brought. The fish and chips were grand, served in a plastic basket. The grease caused the paper lining the basket to tear and stick to the chips and fish. It was all just ok...

Enjoyable stay. Staff very helpful and friendly. In particular we would like to thank Kayleigh and Hannah for their bright smiles, helpfulness and competence. We enjoyed the breakfasts and dinner that we had here and found it a relaxing stay with easy access to other nearby areas of interest.

Eating in the Sands Hotel last week was one of the most disappointing experiences I have had in a long time which is why I had to write this review giving the shocking experience and nature of the young staff who could be described as unprofessional and disinterested in the back garden. Came here recently for food last Sunday on a lovely Summer’s evening. When we reached the entrance, the front was absolutely shocking with rubbish napkins and cutlery thrown everywhere on the ground. We were greeted at the door before being brought to the back garden to be seated. As we were brought threw the building, but me of the staff was sprawled out on the couch and looked as if he didn’t want to be there very unprofessional. There was dinner plates and dessert then thrown around outside the kitchen door place was a kip. We were seated at a table before being served slatted a long delay. Each time we ordered we were told that the kitchen did not have this anymore and we had to go with our 3rd choice after being told each time that it was not available. Burger buns were honestly just thrown in a toaster and were stale, got a few skimpy chips the sort of McDonald type skinny and very few on plate. During the meal, one of the waitresss dropped a knife on my shoulder which gave me an awful fright and did not even bother to return to pick it up!! We left very soon where we met three other staff inside who were just standing around and did not even want to recognise us. I asked for the bill and the girl seemed to just grunt at us and had to go find the card machine. Maybe they had a long day but each one of them appeared disinterested and bored leaning up against the bar. I expressed my unhappiness and she appeared to just grunt as I walked away.
Overall, I would not recommend the Sands Hotel to anyone if looking for a place to eat. It would appear that standards have dropped enormously in this hotel in recent years and it is very disappointing to see. Lots of work is needed to be done to return the Sands to what it was in my opinion.

I am sad to be writing this as I know the hospitality sector has been severely hit by the pandemic but there are no excuses for charging an arm and a leg for a below average experience. I booked a night away for myself as a birthday treat I had always wanted to do a night away by myself. Booked the sands as it was a handy location but how disappointed I was. Firstly I paid 170 euro for 1 night which is extortion based on my experience. I could have booked into a luxury hotel for that price. The room itself was ok at first sight It was clean and bright. But it was extremely warm all night and with the noise from within the hotel and from outside, it was impossible to sleep. The communal areas such as hallways and stairs were filthy and paint spilled on carpets everywhere. I came down for breakfast after not sleeping well to a minimalist cereal and fresh pastry section and you could order a cooked bfast. I ordered rashers sausages eggs and mushrooms. It looked nice when it came out but the eggs were brown underneath and the whites were still raw on top and the mushrooms appeared to be deep fried and they were so greasy. The coffee wasn't great either. I wouldn't complain if I had of paid 60 or 70 euro for the night but 170, I feel robbed. I should have read the reviews on here before booking but lesson learned. Would not recommend it to anyone.

What a sham of a hotel if you can call it that. Prices change every minute, what we booked and what we HAD to pay were 2 different things. Rooms were shabby, management chaotic, heating fully on in summer. Food not worth it and to top it off was bitten in the few hours sleep I got. Cancellation fee 80 do had no other choice but to suffer and no breakfast. Don't go there ever!!!!! Bed I was bitten in....

Unsure what all the recent reviews are about. Yes, the place could do with a facelift, but from working in hospitality myself I know the expense of that. From what I could see it was clean, you could smell the cleaning products walking around. Our room was a decent size. The menu was limited but again, from working in hospitality I can imagine that was to save costs and waste, the food was decent and portions were huge. And the staff were unparalleled. Would easily stay here again, no qualms. Also. Regarding the cost. It’s a standard enough cost for a room at the weekend. Not to mention having being closed for so long. Let a business recoup some money! Very happy with our stay

Extremely disappointed with the service here, it has gone downhill from the last time we were here. My family and I went for some dinner from the start something was wrong. The second we ordered off the menu we had to pay, ive never heard anything like that. After making a choice our server convinced me to try todays special - a chicken burger. when it came out it looked fine nothing amazing but after biting into it the texture was off and cold I was absolutely gobsmacked when I looked at the burger to find it was complete raw chicken mince. It was like the chef just seared and sealed the burger then covered it in cheese. After explaining what happened we didn’t even get a sorry. I asked for a refund which I didn’t get because the server was adamant to serve another dish and of course it was cold and bland. Wouldn’t step foot in here again!

The food was really bad , no taste. We order fish & chips, carbonara , chicken salad and for kids chicken and chips, nothing fancy but not tasty and the prices are very high for the quality!
When we arrived we asked for sanitizer and they told us : Sorry is finished.
We will never go to eat there again.

Went here with a group of friends today for dinner after a day at the amusements and let's just say we were greeted terribly at the main entrance by a very unprofessional and rude member of staff wondering "what we wanted!" We proceeded to ask for a table and was told to go out the back. One of my friends dinner arrived out late when almost everyone else was finished eating, the side of chips that two other friends ordered was late and came out in the one dish as the kitchen ran out of baskets! Also they were undercooked. As we were eating we were pressured by a member of staff as to how we were paying. This should have been left until we were finished eating. And to finish one couple were over charged by 10€ for their meal. I respect that we all have bad days but I feel some staff members definitely need some training.
