The Majestic Hotel comes to life with its vibrant atmosphere and modern, clean rooms that boast stunning views, though the late-night music can be a disturbance for some. Its location is celebrated for beach proximity and nearby attractions, yet families with young children might not find it ideal.
Guests enjoy the varied dining and picturesque amenities; however, occasional service lapses are noted. While many admire the hotel's clean, ocean-view rooms, others deem them basic for the price, which has led to concerns about the hotel's overall value for money.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed one night in an off-season time for this Hotel, which is likely booked solid
during the height of summer in Ireland, or so I would imagine. Friendly talkative chap
at front desk was kind, and made himself available for all questions asked. Found the
room to be organized, clean, and with a balcony overlooking Tramore which was a
nice surprise. Parking availability was great, which is a blessing if you've truly travelled throughout Ireland, you'll know this to be true. Hotel itself is old yet well kept.
Beyond a nice long stroll down by the sea, it's a plus to return with an appetite that is
matched with a menu of favourable options, and very tasty entrees. Being that it was
late in the fall, and less people were booked at the Majestic, it was worth noting that
the level of service from all areas did not suffer, and we felt as though we were well
taken care of by wonderful staff. Should I return to Ireland from Canada again in the
future, I would look forward to returning to the Majestic, spending more time there, and remind them of how special our first visit was, and say Cheers to that.

We chose to stay in the Majestic Hotel as on its website it is described as a 4* hotel in a beautiful location. Having stayed for 2 nights, I would describe it as a regular 3* hotel. The location is excellent. Most 4* hotels provide complimentary water in the bedrooms, and slippers and bathrobes and high quality toiletries. We reserved a sea view room and were pleased to get a nice sized room with beautiful views. The room was clean albeit basic. The beds were comfortable. The receptionist on check-in was very pleasant and I checked we were booked for dinner in the 'Restaurant'. As it was my husband's birthday, I was hoping to treat him to an 'A La Carte' dinner, instead dinner was a limited menu. Incidentally this was the same food as that being served to a 'coach party' of guests, who were also staying at the hotel. When I telephoned and reserved dinner (at lease 5 or 6 days prior to arrival), I was not informed that it was a limited menu (no steaks). The bar/lounge area was very nice and the staff were very pleasant. However, a little bit of training wouldn't go amiss.
Breakfast was very good and plenty of a variety available.
On our second night, a coach load of school children (teenagers) arrived at the hotel. They proceed to run a mock on the corridor from early evening to circa 11.00pm banging doors, screeching etc. On two occasions I opened my room door to make them aware there were other guests in the hotel. One of the boys actually apologized but others didn't. I mentioned this to the receptionist on departure and was given the rather off-hand comment 'sure we were children ourselves one time'. This is not a response I would expect from a 4* hotel member.

Response from Majestic Hotel, General Manager at Majestic Hotel
Responded 17 Oct 2023
Hi @williamg134, I appreciate you taking the time to write the review, however, I am a bit taken a back by some of your comments. We have worked very hard, and continue to do so, here in The Majestic Hotel to make sure that we provide our guests with a really enjoyable four star stay. Just to reassure other guests, we do provide complimentary water and high quality toiletries in every room. We can also provide slippers and bathrobes on request. This is all stated in your guest directory. All of our bedrooms are furnished to high standards and fitted with luxury items. With regards to our food options, we have a set Table D'Hote menu in our restaurant with many options to choose from on each course. We also have an extensive and varied menu in our Lounge bar with steak and many other options on the menu. Yes, we do also take tour groups to stay in the hotel and they are a very valued part of our business. Unfortunately, we cannot account or decipher for other guests behaviour. However, if you had made us aware at the time, our night team could have solved this issue for you. We do apologise that you were disturbed on the second night by people on the corridors and I do apologise for the response you received about this on check out - this should have been handled more professionally. We are glad you enjoyed many other aspects of the hotel and I do hope that your husband enjoyed his birthday. If you do happen to stay with us again, I do hope all aspects will be more enjoyable for you and you can experience all of the 'pros' of staying with us at The Majestic Hotel. Kind regards, Laura

Breakfast was good, staff very nice and accommodating. We had an issue with the shower in our room and I rang reception and they had us moved to another room with a much better shower and a sea view. Cleanliness was ok throughout the hotel however the room was slightly neglected, a lot of dust in places that had been forgotten about by the cleaner.

This has been our first visit to a hotel and restaurant since the lockdown and everything about our stay in the majestic hotel was superb. Our sea view room was spotless and so relaxing and social distancing is made easy in the communal areas of the hotel. The staff in the restaurant were so helpful and friendly, and wore masks/visors all of the time. Both breakfast and dinner were tasty and there was a nice variety of dishes to pick from. Our favourite part of the trip was getting up early and going swimming and surfing in the sea after breakfast, as it is only a 10 min walk/2 min drive from the hotel.

Stayed in the majestic last week and got absolutely robbed for the service they provided us. The receptionist that was on throughout our stay was very rude and made us feel like we were bothering them for what we were entitled to i.e fresh towels and hot water. I work on front desk myself and I know I’d be fired for speaking to guests the way I was spoken to in the majestic. I paid nearly €700 for two nights to be ignored too and made feel like an inconvenience. The breakfast service was awful we had to basically keep asking for what we originally ordered and again made feel like we were bothering the staff. They seemed to be fed up and pissed off to work there. No hospitality at all until we checked out and a nice lady apologized for our experience. Pity we didn’t see her earlier. Awful stay for the price I’d rather stay in a hostel, would have Definitely gotten better customer service. In hospitality you give guests a great experience so they come back; such a disgrace. Plus there was a pigeon stuck on the roof for the two days couldn’t get any sleep at all. Said it to the porter and nothing was done. Such a bad experience never ever again I wouldn’t recommend to anyone going to Tramore. Rather save the money and go cheaper to get looked after and have a good experience.

We stayed here 2 nights for €320 expecting a 4*service.
On our check in we met quite unwelcoming woman who made a rude remark about not being able to charge for our room in the morning. When we arrived to the room, we found it outdated, but worse dirty. Dust and hair on the chair, the floor looked not vacuumed, the sheets washed but with mould stains. We went downstairs to complain and she changed our room. The second room was better but we didnt spend 1 hour to check it as we wanted to enjoy our day. In the evening before shower we found a pubic hair on the bath, and dirty things here and there like dusty toilet paper holder. I went to complain again, a different lady receptionist then showed me other 2 rooms on different floor. Those rooms were all the same, not clean as a 4* should be during pandemic. I told the lady that this has to be their standard then. I asked her for a cleaning product and paper so l can clean the bathroom and light switches. She was embarassed to give it to me, but she did. When l asked her for some compensation she just said she cannot do anything. We did not feel very safe to stay here so tried to find another accommodation, but there was nothing. We were without car so quite limited.
In the morning we were reluctant even to go for breakfast, but it was ok. The staff not super friendly, no staff member was friendly in this place. We met a houskeeping manager few times in the corridor, no hello... very strange mood in this place.
Our friends joined us for a day,we didnt want to ruin our morning, so we just left and spend our day out without complaining.
On our check out we wanted to leave our luggage for a few hours, we just received a abrupt answer 'afraid that will not be possible'. After all this they were still rude so we complained about the service here. The manager heard and came out of his office saying that he served us the breakfast and all seemed fine. We didnt complain about breakfast but the cleanliness and customer service. His only argument was 'l dont't understand why you stayed 2 nights here'(!!!!) And the receptionist was repeating the same after him. I told her we could not find anything, she then said, there is plenty accommodation out there. The customer service absolutely non existing, no professionalism just horrible attitude. Instead of apologizing and trying to make things better they practically said we were supposed to leave! Avoid this place where guest is not welcome. Not 4* at all, hostels have better service!

Ownership needs to work with management on addressing the shortfalls of this property. Elevator was down during stay so seniors on tour were required to lug hand carries and self up and down four half flights of stairs. Fortunately our tour operator managed the heavy luggage. The true disappointing issue was the front desk staff did not seem to care. Never asked how we, as guests, were doing. Never once apologized for the inconvenience for the elevator issue. Several of our group were truly hurt by this experience.
The bathroom amenities lacked. Two shower caps but no shampoo or conditioner. Body wash to wash hair and one very small piece of soap. The tub was very slippery and the climb to get in for a shower treacherous. The dual faucet hot & cold without a mixing valve is not to standard. No wash clothes.
No AC available for this property. Rooms were hot. Wi-Fi nonexistent. The housekeeping uses duvets on the beds - no top sheet. I did not ask but are the duvets changed and cleaned daily?
The banquet food was poor to say the least. Given a choice I selected Prime Rib and when I told server medium rare the response was, “it is already cooked”. I told him if it was well done do not bring it and I will select something else. It was well done and no offering to adjust was made and even understood. Desert was a referred to as a “Strawberry Mess”. It was. Rancid whipped cream also. If the servers had been knowledgeable and equipped the hotel could have sold bottles of wine with dinner. They were not and lost potential revenue.
The breakfast servers were very friendly and offered to assist in many ways. The product for breakfast was OK. Nothing over the top but good variety.
Pulling the luggage in the morning, again without an elevator was an epic issue. Not the memory any hotel wants their guest to have.
I would not recommend this hotel for any type of traveler.

Response from Majestic Hotel, General Manager at Majestic Hotel
Responded 16 Jul 2022
Dear seakarl1 Thank you for your feedback, My sincere apologies for not meeting your expectations. It was most unfortunate that the lift was out of action during your stay. I can assure you the front desk team did apologize for any inconvenience caused, also we provided 2 male members of staff to assist in carrying the luggage for your to the rooms, it seems you did not avail of this. I am a bit perplexed regarding the bathroom amenities. All of our bathrooms have a bottle of shampoo and conditioner as well as body wash.. We also provide a bath mat for showering.. Most hotels in Ireland do not have A/C as it is not normally required due to our temperate climate, however we do provide fans on request as well as sheets instead of duvets, all this information is clearly available in the guest directory.. We have very good WIFI throughout the whole hotel, again if you were having difficulty connecting, one of my team would have assisted you and fixed any issues you may have had. Relating to the dining room, I'm sorry we could not offer you the beef medium rare, The beef on offer that night was slow roasted and cooked to medium well. The dessert you refer to as "Strawberry Mess" is in fact "Eton Mess", a famous dessert for summer, which consists of fresh cream, meringue and local strawberries. I can assure you the cream was not rancid as suggested. Thank you for acknowledging the breakfast staff. Kind regards Mark Whelan

Stayed on sat the 20th of November. Booked what we thought would be a nice family night away for winterval so decided to stay in tramore. Firstly the money was taken from our account the morning of our stay before we even arrived we weren't informed about this at all but that was fine. Arrived at the hotel to he told rudely that the only time they had left for breakfast was 8.30 I wasn't informed on booking breakfast had to be pre booked before arrival then when I asked can we get any later the receptionist wasnt happy at all looked really cross and said I can squeeze ye in for 9.30 but make sure to be down on time I felt that was an awful way to speak to a guest and other guests listening I was so embarrassed. After that we went up to what I booked was a family room to one room with another door leading to another room which was freezing now when I asked about the room being so cold I was told that heaters weren't working and the receptionist did give us a plug in heater but it's a 4 star hotel I expected more. One of my kids have a medical condition and didn't feel right leaving home in a room next to me and my daughter in 5 so didnt want her staying there either so I asked the receptionist are all the family rooms in the hotel like this she said no just ours no idea why we got this rooms because I booked a family room that we would all be in the same room then she said is there an issue and I explained my reasons and got told if there is a problem we can move but was so rude about this. When my husband explained my sons medical condition she questioned him to why the 5 year old can't stay in the adjoined room I'm sorry but I don't feel safe leaving a 5 year old in a room where there is a door leading out to the hall near her bed. The breakfast was awful the staff were friendly at breakfast but the food wasn't nice at all. All the thongs that you left up the good were all on top of eachother eggs mixed with the bean one looked disgusting.
I paid 150e for the night and it was the worse hotel I've ever stayed in just the recpionaist needs manners to make a guest feel like how I felt was awful.
I would not recommend this hotel.

I would not recommend this hotel to stay in. The staff were lazy and very unhelpful. I stayed for two nights and booked breakfast as part of the deal. When arriving for breakfast, We were told they couldn’t serve us breakfast as they had a wedding later and needed to set up. After telling them I had paid for breakfast I was told to hurry up so they could get us out. I asked for a straw with my drink during dinner and I was told they had none, even though i had a straw in the bar 10 minutes before that. Cleaning staff walked into our room both mornings without knocking. I was very disappointed with this stay. The only positive is location as it’s very central however apart from that it was very poor.

Overall I enjoyed my stay at the majestic hotel in Tramore, the best feature for me is the location - all of Tramore's attractions are on your doorstep. Our family room had a double bed and 2 singles and we all slept well. I thought the food was just average - I think they may have been operating off a smaller selection than normal and the options were fairly basic which is fine but there was nothing special. However there are other lovely places to eat within walking distance so it wasn't a big issue. Even though there were set options for the cooked breakfast they had no problem with adjusting it to suit your requirements. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful especially the ladies at reception. I would stay again, thank you.
