The staff were so accomodatating with our bookings as required several changes. The location with the beach and the boardwalk made life so simple. The apartments were spacious and clean. Our own only recommednation is if you planning on eating in bring cloth and tea towels. other than that great stay and we had such a good time with swimming eating and most of all the fresh sea air on your doorstep

This was our second time returning to a 2 bed apartment and we are very lucky that we got good weather because if it’s raining there’s pretty much nothing at all to do with everything in the hotel closed. I was aware of this beforehand & we did enjoy our weekend but there was a few little things…no cleaning products in the apartments…a tea towel/washing up liquid/antibac spray would have been nice, there wasn’t even soap in the main bathroom. I stayed in a different holiday apt the week before and all of these were provided which I do think should be standard. Cleaning of the apartments isn’t 100% either as I had to wipe a very visible stain off the leather couch & we found a lovely pair of a previous guests socks on the windowsill in the bedroom!! there’s a small playground on site which was great to pass a bit of time but they have the playroom next to it locked and all the toys in full view which drove the kids mad that they couldn’t get it. Also thought it was funny that the games room (where you pay for games) was open but the kids playroom was locked up. Other than that we had a nice stay. we got food both evenings from Happy Grillmores van and it was delicious. Would highly recommend. All staff we dealt with were very friendly & the sea view apartments are worth the extra few euro. I will return but will wait until things are back to normal & all facilities are available.

We stayed here on 21st October in 201. It was the perfect location right beside the beach. The boardwalk was lovely and view was fabulous. Lovely green in front of hotel for kids to run around. Apartment was perfect except for TV that was really hard to operate and poor quality. Leisure centre was great, my toddler loved the pool. The food situation was a bit disappointing. It would of been nice to know the opening times of the trucks but no info anywhere. Nothing was open Thursday evening when we arrived and on Sunday morning when we were checking out at 10am. Coffee would of been nice! No pizzas being served as advertised and coffee( when it was open was overpriced) Apart from this, we had a nice stay and would stay again if hotel was open with proper food and beverage service.

We stayed here August 2021 for one night. It cost €179 for one night, we had no hot water and we had travelled for 5 hours to get there. So no shower or bath for any of us and no one to phone that evening until the next morning at 9am. After 7pm, you are given a phone number that says in capital letter. - emergencies only?? No housekeeping issues.

The apartments had the same decor as 7 years ago when we last visited, curtains not matching and faded and very outdated ugly furniture. It’s a lovely location and our now teenage children have some very happy memories from their childhood here. But this hotel has continuously succeeded to be mediocre at best every year that we have visited.

As we checked out, no-one was interested in making up for the lack of showers or baths for our one night stay or offering a discount or free coffee even to make up for the inconvenience.

I normally use trip advisor to commend places but felt compelled on this occasion to post this review due to our v poor experience.

We got up the next morning to go to Pilates in the leisure centre to be told that had we booked the day before it would have gone ahead, we told the lady at reception in the leisure centre we were coming to the class and she told us to just turn up with our money the next morning. We got up early especially to go the class. This was the icing on the cake for poor customer service and experience. Incidentally, the leisure centre hasn’t opened due to Covid, (even though they allow their members to use the gym and pool). Every other hotel we have stayed at this summer has opened its pool in a staggered fashion to maintain Covid safety standards, I can’t understand why the Quality hotel hasn’t been able to manage this. It smacks of lazy and uninspired leadership.

This could easily have been a lovely family night away, we were just looking for a hot shower and to engage in one of their limited activities in offer! How hard could that be to meet expectations?? Worst €179 spent ever!

Great location for Redbarn beach. When booked in February it was on the understanding that leisure centre would be open to self catering residents. We stayed a few years ago and if the weather was not good enough for the beach it was great to have access to the pool. It was mid June when I got an email stating that hotel and leisure centre would not be open with no discount offered. At this stage it was very late to find an alternative. No soap in soap dispensers in apartment which I would consider a must during a pandemic. On a positive note the shower was super. Pop up food outlets were nice with a good choice on offer.

Would not stay again.

Clean quiet bright spacious in truly wonderful location with beach three min walk away. Hotel etc closed but grill mores chip van there on weekends does fantastic gourmet steak sambo burgers and fish for takeaway. Great freindly service also. Bakemore hut in front of hotel on beach =excellent coffee and fresh made cakes for takeaway at garage prices (they could charge significantly more given the localyion on beach, no other shops around in the unspoilt beauty) lovely to have coffee and cake for beach walk.kitchen no cleaning equipment at all and no tinfoil etc but covid I gather means minimal provided. Toilet paper towels linen bathroom soap and some dishwasher tablets provided. Excellent stay, great service. Away from everything though so need car. 25 min walk to youghal on beach with brisk pace. Walkway nearly finished. Ideal for buggies. Be fantastic when complete.

We have just returned from our 3rd stay in the self catering houses of the quality Hotel and Leisure Centre Youghal and once again we are blown away by our experience. We were booked into house number 26 from June 2nd to June 5th 2021. At first we were a little disappointed on hearing that we would not have use of the hotel facilities this time due to covid restrictions but we decided to proceed with the booking and we are so glad we did. The food options for outdoor /take away dining were absolutely fantastic and so much variety at a great price point!! The staff were so helpful as always and although we missed the pool and the kids club this time it did not impeed on our holiday at all and the days went by too fast, we would have loved another few days. The beach is absolutely beautiful and the addition of the boardwalk is simply wonderful. The house was spotlessly clean with ample facilities for a fully self catering experience and lots of comfortable living and sleeping space.Great location only 30 min from Fota wild life safari and from Cork City and 20 min from Leahys open farm which our kids loved again. We travelled with 4 children under 7 and were delighted with the quality of the travel cot and high chair which we asked to be provided in our booking and which were all free of charge to us. We are already talking about when we can return and all our children loved it. We travelled from Athlone which was approx 3 and a half hours but so worth all the effort and such great value /price!!
We look forward to returning as soon as possible.
Kind regards
Anthony and Hilda Duignan
Athlone

We stayed in the self-catering apartments 711 with a sea view March 25th and 26th it was absolutely perfect very clean and spacious. The staff are always very friendly and helpful whenever we went to reception, we mentioned that we might go to Foto wildlife and we got a discount for a great day out. The pool and the beach are just a short walk from the apartments which was very convenient. The view from the pool is lovely.
We had dinner in the restaurant the Saturday evening the food was lovely even though they were down a chef and under pressure. The live music was brilliant too. The Tipperary ramblers were great. Overall everyone had a good time. Definitely worth a visit, as Arnold Schwarzenegger says, "I'll be back" lol...

We recently stayed in the self catering apartments in Quality Inn Youghal. We tend to visit a few times each year & the accommodation is always perfect. This was the first year we were so disappointed with the food in the hotel. On our first night we went in for dinner. I’m a coeliac and I was told there was no gluten free options (all the servers were very young and didn’t seem too bothered) we ordered 2 steaks and 2 kiddies meals with a jug of miwadi. The total cost was €77! I nearly fell off the chair. The steaks were not cooked as requested and the portion of veg was tiny! The following evening we had dinner up the town. We all had a 2 course meal with drinks included for €65 and it was delicious! I would hope the food improves in the hotel and it would be nice to see some senior members of staff around the place as it’s currently run by youngsters.

We originally booked with Groupon, which was supposed to expire in May 2020 but the Quality Hotel Youghal were so accomodating in extending it. We were moved from the self catering apartments to the holiday homes (no.45) as the everything else had remained closed. It was our first visit there and we were blessed with the weather (18-20th Sept) the house was ideal for 2 adults, 3kids..plenty of space, clean, towels, iron, hairdryer, tea towel, dishwasher tablets all provided for and so very close to the beach. Youghal Town only maybe a 10min drive away for Aldi /Supervalu. There is a food truck outside the hotel if you are stuck..serves til 9 and does breakfast as well. We would def return.. The set up was fantastic with the hotel/holiday homes so close to the beach. The beach was the highlight but we would love to return and have access to the hotel as well. Check in/check out very easy.. No hassle at all.
