This hotel cancelled my booking five weeks after it was made and confirmed. I was informed on 19 May 2022 that the hotel was no longer trading as a hotel. I was forced to find another hotel for my family holiday, which was very difficult given the time that had elapsed between my booking and the hotel's decision to cancel my booking. Quality Hotel Youghal offered no alternative accommodation, which was utterly unacceptable. A customer service operator told me she did not have to listen to 'guff' from me on the phone when I complained about the cancellation of the booking. I asked to speak to her manager or supervisor and she said no one was available. I was utterly dissatisfied with the treatment we received by the hotel and by the customer service operator. This week, the hotel emailed me requesting a review of my stay which, as stated above, was cancelled with no alternative provided. This request for a review is completely disrespectful and illustrates the lack of clear management of bookings, as reviews are being sought from customers whose bookings were actually cancelled, and who did not stay at the hotel at all. This cancellation caused huge inconvenience to us as a family and I will never consider booking with this hotel again.…
Normally really good. Today one of the worst Sunday lunches I have ever had. See photo of caterpillar eaten lettuce. Burnt Yorkshire pudding literally black! Roast potatoes rock hard like stones! I was shocked as it’s normally really nice. They gave us a discount but I was so hungry after sauna I had to eat something. The Inch cider was rank too I left it.
We decided last weekend to pull into red barn campervan site for the night and to get food in the hotel as we had our 2 year old with us, no Guinness or coors on tap, menu is very limited, my other half ordered the bolognese pizza and chips, basically a very plain cheese pizza with bolognese slapped on top of it and chips tasted awful like they were cooked in dirty oil, i ordered a half portion of chicken goujons, mash and veg and the little one had the kids portion, both turned out the exact same size but different prices, the goujons were over hard, the veg was soggy and watery and the mash tasted like the artificial stuff you'd get in a packet. Cost in total was ridiculous, the waiter and waitress were lovely but it nearly seemed like they were afraid to say anything to the kitchen...... Just avoid!!…
Lovely 2 bed apartment. Very comfortable, clean and cosy. Very family orientated hotel and complex. Fantastic location for the beach. Nearest shops are in youghal village - 10 mins drive away. Only one restaurant in the hotel and in the surrounding area.
Recently stayed here with my family over Easter weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house we stayed in was nice and looked like it had been recently updated with new carpets and bathrooms. The house was spacious with plenty of room for bikes, hanging out wet clothes from the pool/beach etc. We were able to access all of the hotel facilities such a swimming pool, gym, kids club, bar etc. and this was ideal expecially as the weather wasn't great at times. The beach is literally right beside the resort and the new boardwalk that connects the resort to the town of Youghal is a fabulous amenity. The staff were lovely and even where there was an issue, they were quick to resolve it efficiently. The bar in the resort had only re-opened following closure after Covid restrictions and it was very nice. The only issue was that it was absolutely packed from about 6pm to 7pm, but if you waited til a little bit later it quitened down and it was easier to get a table (it's walk-in only, can't be booked). Overall we had a really lovely time and the children are already talking about what they will do the next time we visit!…
Have stayed many times here in Quality Hotel in Youghal. Always find staff friendly and helpful. Great have use pool when in apt or houses, have stayed in both. Houses great size. Location ideal and new walk way all the better as straight walk to Youghal. Will be back.
Apartment lovely albeit poorly equipped (amount of cutlery, hairdryer, must bring all basics yourself (washing up liquid, cloth, T towels, dishwasher tablets etc) ). Leisure centre and kids’ club appear to be run independently of the hotel which is fine but hotel reception very slow to offer any information at all on both. Borderline dismissive. Would recommend avoiding the restaurant at peak hours. We went into Youghal and had lovely meals in The Quays and The Red Barn and the food and service in both were great. Pool is basic and offers 45 minute slot which is pretty short considering restrictions have been lifted. We are 2 adults and young kids and would probably advise going somewhere where the pool is a little better, with longer slots and a good playground on site. Nice stay but won’t return.…
We recently stayed in the self catering apartments in Quality Inn Youghal. We tend to visit a few times each year & the accommodation is always perfect. This was the first year we were so disappointed with the food in the hotel. On our first night we went in for dinner. I’m a coeliac and I was told there was no gluten free options (all the servers were very young and didn’t seem too bothered) we ordered 2 steaks and 2 kiddies meals with a jug of miwadi. The total cost was €77! I nearly fell off the chair. The steaks were not cooked as requested and the portion of veg was tiny! The following evening we had dinner up the town. We all had a 2 course meal with drinks included for €65 and it was delicious! I would hope the food improves in the hotel and it would be nice to see some senior members of staff around the place as it’s currently run by youngsters.…
20m walk to the beach(and boardwalk), spotless rooms with great views (2 room seaview apt). Would return. Leisure centre is clean and playground, although small is sag gated and suitable for toddlers. Food and drink from bar and restaurant was of a fair (pub grub ) standard. Staff incredible friendly and helpful throughout our stay. A small issue was the shower was poor, and the cold water ran out and never came back. But what was there was hot and the bath was sufficient.
Very nice rooms and very close to beach. Staff were friendly. Great breakfast room with beautiful views of the beach and the sea. On a glorious day you can get a lot of local holiday makers using the bar and food facility's but staff are well capable. Great message to top off my stay
