Detailed Reviews
We arrived late, but this was no problem for the super friendly staff of the Old Imperial. We were given a 5 star welcome. Our room was huge and everything was clean. The beds was really comfortable and had a great nights sleep after our late arrival. We dined in the bar the following evening and food was great and very reasonably priced. We had brunch the next day in the 'Brunch & Deli' and again fab staff, food was amazing and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be returning, old world charm with brilliant staff, in the heart of Youghal.

Have stayed in the Old Imperial in Youghal four or five times all together it’s always my go to place to stay, rooms are beautiful, and clean, service and staff are polite and have great customer skills. Food is excellent. Booking here is never any problem and are prompt in getting back to you with any questions you have. I can’t speak highly enough of this Hotel and will be staying many more times in the future!!

Our B and B room was spacious, clean, bright, beautifully decorated. Love the amenities including a tea service in our room. Prior to staying in the Old Imperial Hotel, we've frequented their restaurant/pub when visiting relatives. So it was fun, this time, to stay in the hotel as well as eat in the restaurant. The restaurant boasts a perfect Irish pub. The restaurant menu is full with a variety of specials. Our room overlooked Youghal's Main Street. The restaurant was cheerfully decorated for the Christmas season.

I was with my family of 16 for our annual Christmas eve meal get together at the imperial and was left very disappointed. We were put upstairs in a room with another large family which was a very tight squeeze with no Christmas atmosphere then at only 4pm most of the food on the menu was already gone. what was left was very poor. When we finished eating we asked for a table down stairs to have a drink but were told the bar was closing in 10 min.if we were told this when we booked we could have went earlier. Thankfully the brilliant staff especially lauren made a bad choice on our behalf a better night.

Had a beefburger with chips during the day time during the past week and I have to say it was very disappointing. I received a thimble sized portion of coleslaw, about 12 chips served in a little stainless steel bucket that disguises the very small portion and a bun burger containing 2 very thin pieces of beef with lettuce and a rasher and relish. For 17 Euro this was and is really poor, poor value for money.
In The local or The Anchor in nearby Dungarvan, for about 4 or 5 euro less during the day, a burger meal will beat this fare hands down for quality and size. No salad portion on the plate at all in The Imperial. I really find it difficult to understand how this portion of food is only €1.50 less than say their 12 hour slow cooked beef that comes with lots of veg and beef in a nice big bowl. In my humble opinion €17 is severely overpriced for a very average burger and chips. If they could only give more chips on the plate and say a nice mix of a salad bowl instead of the silly shiny bucket and a nice thick minced meat burger I would gladly pay €17.
This is genuine feedback to a restaurant I used to visit regularly pre covid and I want to see them succeed but on this evidence I wont be rushing back. I will try it again in the future in the hope that they will either ammend their menu or their prices.
The staff were great by the way, no complaints there.

I had two separate bookings for this hotel (1 for a Thursday, and 1 for Friday & Saturday) for an Ironman event in Aug22. The hotel cancelled both my bookings on separate occasions over 1 month after I had booked them apparently due to overbooking, I find this hard to believe, if they had overbooked surely the hotel would have been in contact sooner. Absolutely ridiculous, I'm furious to say the least. I'm now left to find alternative accommodation, only available options are further out from the town which will mean travelling into Youghal in the v.early morning before my Ironman event.

Hi there, Thanks for getting in touch. We absolutely feel your your frustration and disappointment. Unfortunately, your booking was made through Booking.com and we have no control at all over how they handle their bookings. This is the risk that you take when booking with a third party. With any guests but particularly those taking part in Ironman, we always try to accommodate or assist with alternative accommodation. Our many previous guests can vouch for that. So while there is nothing that we can do to rectify your situation we hope that you understand that this matter is completely out of our hands.

Our stay in the Old Imperial was perfect. When we arrived (late) Paul obliged by bringing us glasses of wine to the room and the table was ready for us for dinner. The staff were very friendly and we ended up having dinner in the hotel both nights. The menu had plenty of choice and the food was delicious. The place was buzzing! It was a great base to explore Youghal not to mind great value for money. We will be back. Thanks all for for a lovely stay. Aoife and Steph.

Family of 5 , called in here this evening with no booking but were made feel very welcome from the off even though the restaurant was bustling.
Food was excellent and very well priced compared to similar places around the country. Great selection on the kids menu with great portions. Staff and service all excellent . Also a great pint of Guinness here which is always a plus.

Absolutely fabulous in every way. Beautiful atmosphere, friendly hard working staff. Excellent food and a building oosing charisma. . Located on th main street, everything is within walking distance. Innovative thinking has turned the rear of the building into a beautifully relaxing dining area with a marquee serviced by great staff.
Paul the owner was always on site and available and exceptionally helpful.
Would recommend 110%. What are ye waiting for. Get you 🚬 down there.

We stayed in The Old Imperial Hotel for two nights during the June Bank Holiday weekend. After discovering this hotel in 2020 we stayed many times when COVID allowed us.
So we couldn’t wait to stay again. We totally enjoyed the whole relaxed atmosphere during our two day stay. The bar, bedrooms and common areas are so well kept and their COVID measures makes for a very safe stay.
We had all our meals in the hotel over the two days and the quality of the food and drink was excellent. The feather blade beef is awesome!!
Paul and Dan and all their staff are so friendly and go out of their way to be helpful and kind.
Can’t wait to stay again in early July.
If you want a nice break with good food and a wonderful service The Old Imperial is a must!!

This would be a really excellent choice as it is in the centre of town and is a super small friendly ,clean hotel. The staff and owners are lovely and go out of their way to make your stay memorable. I wouldn't stop anywhere else. Genuine authentic Irish hospitality.
Hi Arleen, we are on the Main St in Youghal so approximately a 2 minute drive off the main Waterford to Cork road.
If we can help with anything else please get in touch.
Best wishes,
Emma
Hi jenniferfromWexford,
As the building is over 200 years old we don't have a lift, however there is always a team member around to help with bags etc
If you have any further queries please don't hesitate to give us a call and we would be happy to discuss.
Best wishes,
Emma
Each room has its own ensuite be it single, double or otherwise. I'm not sure where the detached question arose. Best wishes
