The food was excellent, the staff were so good we were treated like royalty! The wine was 100% and we all had an Irish coffee and OMG it was delicious. The rooms and the entire hotel was super clean. The room we stayed in was really nice, warm and looked fab.
Recently we had the pleasure of visiting this hotel to celebrate our daughters First Holy Communion. After the communion being postponed due to the current health crisis we wanted to make it a bit special for my daughter. The hotel has a very unique feel to it when you arrive, almost as if you have stepped back in time to visit an immaculate new luxurious hotel. All the staff were welcoming and very helpful and the family room was very spacious and had a touch of elegance and class about it. Our meal was delicious and correctly portioned. I had a caesar salad with at first I felt could have done with 2 or 3 more slices of smoked chicken but when i finished it actually was portioned just right. For my main I went with the leg of lamb with stuffing. I need to take a second here and ignore the tasty lamb and beautiful gravy and talk about the mash potato. The mash potato is pure heaven. Silky smooth in a perfect quenelle, buttered and seasoned to perfection. The care taken to produce such a smooth mash potato shows the care and attention given to every plate of food. Trust me, it was amazing. To sum up our stay, it really a fine way to treat our daughter on a very special day and something I don't think we will forget.…
Return visit to Walter Raleigh Hotel .. Didn't disappoint welcoming staff spotlessly clean great room with a view ...food in bar amazing and staff extremely efficient and friendly Short walk to town which is starting to buzz again ..last visit was over winter very dreary. Overall a great visit
We stopped here for lunch on Sunday September 13th, as the downstairs dining room was full we were shown to the most delightful dining room upstairs ,the food and service was first class , we throughly enjoyed our lunch and will definitely return , I have no hesitation in recommending the a Walter Raleigh Hotel
This hotel was an absolute gem. We had a junior suite on the second floor. The room was big bright airy, spotlessly clean and absolutely beautiful overlooking the Blackwater estuary with sounds of lapping waves and bird life wafting in through the huge windows. The hotel has bent over backwards to protect its clients and staff in covid times ensuring no one is in the room for 36hrs prior to your checkin and tables well apart in restaurant etc. The food was spectacular and the staff were really friendly and very helpful. There was the option of having breakfast on the restaurant balcony overlooking the water where clear screens were erected between balcony sections further protecting residents without detracting from the spectacular views. This is one of nicest hotels we have stayed in and we look forward to revisiting it again soon.…
