Great place to stay run by very good people. I stayed here with my wife for the October bank holiday and had a lovely time. What was also greatly appreciated was the fact I left my watch behind me, which is very valuable to me, and David arranged to have it sent to me via registered post. Thanks again David!
We just checked out after a fabulous stay with our 1 year old. David and team were so welcoming and accommodating. The service is second to none. The rooms are spotless clean and the food was amazing. We really couldn't fault our visit. Lots to do around the area. A lovely trip!
We like to think of ourselves as regulars to this excellent hotel as make sure to visit from Dublin at least 3/4 times per year and they never disappoint. Family run with second to none food we cannot recommend it highly enough. The rooms are spacious and old world style with super king comfy beds and lovely balconies with the suites. The owners are hands on and always there with a welcome banter for all guests. The food however continues to be faultless with gorgeous local fish that we so look forward to every visit. They also offer great value for money and we cannot wait for our return visit...
Myself and my husband stayed here recently on a Sunday night. We had a perfect stay! The staff and owners were welcoming and incredibly accommodating. The food was out of this world (seafood chowder was the best we have ever had). And the room was what I would describe as “comfortable luxury”. We have already booked to visit again. And after seeing the junior suite room we have decided to treat ourselves. A beautiful hotel in an incredible location. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
I visited this Hotel on Wednesday evening 15th June , as I wanted something light to eat the young friendly lady in the bar recommended a prawn salad with homemade brown bread . It was delicious and I couldn’t praise the food the place and the staff enough. Keep doing what you’re doing and I can’t wait to return soon again .
Stayed here recently and loved it. The service is excellent, room very good and the food is superb. We had food in the bar on Friday night and had the Tasting menu in the restaurant on Saturday, a lovely combination of food and wines served at our own pace by Anne, who makes the breads and desserts in the hotel. A very enjoyable stay and we would definitely return. Thank you
A regular stop on our way back to Cork. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and great food. Monkfish scampi and Seafood Chowder are fantastic. Also stayed for a few nights over the summer. Staff were extremely helpful and the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend
Myself and my husband spent a wonderful night in this gorgeous family run establishment! We stayed in a large, charming room and slept like logs after our exquiste meal in the restaurant. Very friendly and welcoming staff ! We devoured the delicious and hearty breakfast spread the following morning and went on our merry way knowing we will be back in the future! Top class!
My wife and I stayed in this character-filled and quintessentially Irish townhouse as part of a staycation in the Autumn. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly with a smile and a nod from all the staff we encountered. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean and decorated tastefully in keeping with the rest of the property. The bar service was friendly and informal, making it a perfect spot for a couple of drinks pre dinner. The evening menu was an absolute treat, local seafood prepared perfectly and served promptly by the waiting staff. The hot and cold breakfast that was served the following morning was delicious and set us up for a day of exploring. A friendly chat with the owners where we gathered loads of information on the surrounding area capped off a fantastic night away. Would recommend a stay in AHerne's Townhuse without hesitation and will be making a return on our next visit to East Cork.…
booked a meal for myself and my fiance , it was our first time there having moved to the area over a year ago. firstly didnt know where we were going when we arrived, ended up behind the bar trying to get to bar, we were asked out of the way by a member of staff as we asked for directions... Then when we went into a small pokey bar room we were seated at 2 seater table alongside an occupied 2 seater table where there were people eating right next to us with a big awkward screen between us, there were 2 other big tables free in the room in hindsight i should have asked then to be moved but we moved our table over a bit instead as i didnt want the couple next to us to be embarrassed either if you know what i mean.. we ordered steak and monkfish with risotto which actually burned me when i went to eat it.. fish was like rubber, I can only assume it was microwaved it was that hot and bland, steak was nice to be fair presented with half burnt potato chips, but these dishes were not cheap 30 E each like! got a baileys coffee after which came in the smallest of wine glasses and that was like nearly 9E.. anyway when we went to complain about the whole experience it was basically dismissed and we were told that there was a christening on and they were busy etc.. also we our covid certs were not checked until we were sitting down waiting on our food, I found the managment/owners staff rude, food was basic and plain and could have done much more to make our experience enjoyable, we wont be back, also please get rid of your wooden board with the specials and deserts which is plonked on a chair in front of you disgraceful,,,…
