Stayed for 3 nights at Newtown House. Made very welcome and breakfast was wholesome and hearty with choice of cereals, fruits, yoghurt, home made bread and cooked breakfast. BEAUTIFUL gardens and views. We were travelling with our 2 year old, and there was a highchair and full size cot available to us.

The warm welcome we received on arrival set the tone for what was to be one of the most relaxing and enjoyable mini breaks we have had. The house is beautiful and our room was elegant, spacious and quiet, with lovely views over the estuary looking out to Youghal. Our hosts Georgie & Michael provided tea and warm scones in the sunny conservatory shortly after we arrived and filled us in on the local area and activities. Breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit salad, muesli, warm homemade bread and Georgie was happy to provide a variety of options for the cooked breakfast. We were made to feel completely at home and yet really well looked after, a balancing act not achieved by many. With beautiful gardens, the estuary view and the lovely peaceful quiet, you really feel like you're getting away from it all.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Newtown House. The location of the house by the estuary with a lawn leading to the water's edge was magical. Soon after we arrived, we sat outside the French windows and had a cup of tea watching the late afternoon sun over the water. Our room with views across the bay was spacious and beautifully presented and I loved my hot bath and fluffy towels in the ensuite bathroom. The light-drenched dining room with adjacent courtyard garden was very comfortable and we really enjoyed our delicious breakfasts. Perfect base for exploring Youghal and the surrounding area. Our hosts Michael and Georgie Penruddock were endlessly helpful and informative about the local area and attractions providing maps and print-outs. Highly recommend it!
