Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Has just been taken over by Aileen. This was her first weekend of hosting and what a marvellous job Paul and she did. We stayed there for four nights. We were immediately greeted by the hosts with a welcoming cup of coffee and a scone. We were made to feel at home and nothing was too much trouble. This is a gem of a place. Tastefully decorated. Great central location for shops and beach. Lovely seating area. Comfortable rooms and bed. I would thoroughly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Youghal.

This review is not about staying at this location, because we didn’t get to. I booked directly through their website in January for one night in April, received an email confirmation with a booking number, was told to arrive between 4pm and 6pm. We showed up at 5:20pm, no answer at door (no lights on and no sign of anyone inside). Knocked a bunch on doors, called and left a message, emailed three times. Even knocked on the neighbors door and asked in a local pub. We did this for about 30 minutes. When I clicked on “manage your booking” within the confirmation email, said my reservation was canceled. I double checked my inbox and spam, nothing at all from the accommodations. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable. We were left stranded without accommodations. Now I have to go back and make sure my card wasn’t charged. Did this place close? Anyone know?

Lovely little B&B run by Sarah who was very friendly. Our room was spotlessly clean with tea & coffee. The shower room was compact but again spotless with complimentary toiletries. The breakfast was freshly cooked and lovely. Would stay again when in the area.

This is an impressive Georgian House, recently renovated. The standard of decor is excellent. A wonderfull hallway and wide georgian stairs. Much of the original georgian decor is retained, (the entire original wooden stairs) and all the furniture is in keeping being mostly antique hardwood wooden furniture. Great to see such a building being well used today. The accommodation owner / manager Lucy, was very helpful. There was a large choice of breakfast food, all very well prepared. A very comfortable house to stay in Youghal, near the town centre and the beach. Recommended.
