Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My Daughter & Husband and myself stayed in An Crannog Ballyconnell for two nights. We were attending my grandsons wedding. The b& b was so lovely. It was really homely. It was spotless but most importantly it was like home from home. The breakfast was yummy. Lovely fry with tea & toast. Lots of cereal.
Joy was an amazing lady. Also the staff as well.
Nothing is too much trouble
For her. She is indeed a gem.
I will definitely visit an crannog again and would recommend it.
A great place to stay.

Stayed here as had a wedding in the slieve russell hotel. Literally next door with only a short
walk so it was excellent in relation to distance from hotel. Joy, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with, so helpful and friendly. Room was lovely and clean and the en-suite bathroom was literally shining! Breakfast next morn was ample, tasty and served by a lovely friendly lady. Would recommend this establishment whole heartly to anyone!!

We attended a wedding in the Slieve Russell Hotel but the hotel was completely booked out so we opted for this lovely B&B which is, literally, right next door. We have five young kids (oldest 9, youngest 22 months) and they really enjoyed it. The rooms were lovely, the bathrooms spotless and the B&B owner Joy was very warm and welcoming. The breakfast was very sufficient and set us all up for the long journey home. Thanks for a very nice and comfortable stay.

I stayed in An Crannóg recently with family as we were attending a wedding in The Slieve Russell. It was a very comfortable stay and Joy and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. It was very convenient for us as it was located right next to the entrance to the Slieve Russell and a standard double room cost literally half what a stay in the hotel was. The rooms were very clean and tidy throughout and the cooked breakfast the following morning was superb! It was much appreciated after a good night's craic! Joy even made up a sandwich with sausage, bacon, etc. for one family member who couldn't handle breakfast (due to said night's craic!) so that he could have it later down the road. Overall I had a very comfortable stay and everyone was very warm and accommodating!

My wife and i stayed here because the Sleive Russell Hotel was fully booked, we were attending a wedding.
And im glad it was fully booked, The rooms were Perfect, nothing spectacular but spotless and comfy, for the price we payed it was way more than we were expecting.
The lady that owns it was a star. We were a tad late back from the wedding, which was only about a 2 min walk away, so thinking we had missed breakfast were getting ready to leave but not at all !! We were treated to the best breakfast you could ask for, full irish will all the trimmings. Set us up perfectly for the rest of the Day.
Basically if anyone is planning on going to the Slieve Russell for a wedding, try this place for somewere to stay first, its right next door, alot lot cheaper and i cant imagine you would get a breakfast anywere near as good in the Hotel.
Great B&B.

Lovely hosts and ideal location for the Slieve Russell Hotel. It is literally a 3 min walk.

Good hearty breakfast. Only minor picking is the size of the TV in the bedroom. It is a little on the small size. But overall experience is very good. Will be back again.

We were attending a wedding at the Slieve Russell hotel but wanted to stay in a b&b as it was cheaper. A family member recommended some local places to stay and we chose An Crannog as it was right next door to the hotel.

Joy, who runs the b&b is wonderful and she greeted us and showed us to our room. The room was great and very clean with a gorgeous view out to the countryside. The room was en-suite and I think there were also some rooms without a bathroom.

We stayed 2 nights and had breakfast each morning which was absolutely wonderful.

As we're from England and were over for a family wedding I don't know if I'll ever be back over in Cavan but if I did, this is the only place we would stay. Warm friendly welcome, great accommodation and a lovely breakfast.

My partner, son and I stayed at An Crannog, guest house on 8th June as we were attending a wedding at Slieve Russell hotel. On arrival we received a warm welcome from Joy, the owner. The house was comfortable, clean and walking distance to Slieve Russell.

Our breakfast the following morning was excellent, large fry, cereals, juice, fruit and lots of frest wheaten bread. I forgot my scarf and Joy rang me about this and posted it back to me. This was more than I expected her to do.

Overall a pleasant stay, enjoyed by all three of us. I highly recommend this guest house.
Thanks for an enjoyable stay!

We stayed here for one night only - definitely longer next time.
We were attending a wedding at the nearby Slieve Russell. Very comfortable accommodation with lovely garden to enjoy should the weather permit!
The house has a guest lounge where you can sit quietly and perhaps read, have a coffee or watch television.
Our room was warm and comfortable - spotlessly clean.
Breakfast was grand - a choice of cereal, dish of fresh pineapple, choice of yoghurt, fresh grapefruit and pure orange to drink. A basket of toast and wheaten bread was served to the table. The full Irish breakfast - we were offered a choice of one or two fried eggs. A choice of scrambled or poached eggs would have been nice. Beans were also offered but not mushrooms. Just a little surprised to find that the fried bread was wheaten bread - no soda or potato bread in sight.
A choice of tea or coffee was offered.
Would recommend this b&b if staying in the area.
Special thank you to Joy - the owner.

Attended wedding in Slieve Russell, safe to walk to and from hotel, no need for taxis. One of the best breakfasts I have had, perfectly cooked, plenty of it and served with a smile! Joy was very friendly and helpful, would stay again!
