We booked a night away here after welcoming our new baby daughter. We were so excited for the night as a couple. The estate is beautiful and very well maintained. Check in was smooth and we got a full run down of the hotel, grounds and restaurants. The room was also more than we expected. Great size bed, huge TV, bath and walk in shower. It was clean but not spotless. The room had some cobwebs above the bed, hair in he bath and we had to ask for milk for the tea. The spa was beyond our expectations, we loved it. No negative feedback on it! The only complaint was dinner in Maxwell's - we had booked dinner months in advance for 8pm. There was a wait to enter, it was 8.20 by the time we were seated. Jacob was our server who was great, he did seem very busy though. We decided to go for the 3 courses for 50 euro. The starters and mains were nice, but we waited 40 minutes for the main. We then waited another 20 minutes to be cleared and offered desert menus. It was not Jacob who cleared our table or took the desert order. We ended up cancelled deserts and asked for a refund of the money as we waited a whole hour for them. So we ended up paying a la carte which was not our intent. Agnieszka came with the card machine to refund the money but she was not very apologetic, she just completed the refund and said the chef was under pressure. So dinner was disappointing for us, the only let down. In saying this we would return but would not dine in the restaurant again.…

Another amazing stay in Farnham Estate. Had booked for a relaxing night away before having our baby. We got married here 6 years ago, and on check in we were upgraded to the amazing suite which we had on our wedding night which was a lovely touch. The staff were all so friendly - everyone we encountered on check in, in the bar, restaurant, spa etc could not have done enough for us. We ordered room service breakfast and it was delivered right on time and was fresh and warm on arrival to the room. The pool and spa were busy but there were still beds available and the facilities were available to use. Cannot wait to return.

A wonderful repeat stay . Pool and spa facilities so worth the trip . Outstanding architecture where old and new are sensitively and creatively combined to create a unique experience which really punches above its weight. Food in Maxwell’s lovely and service excellent- friendly and professional. Benoit was typical of this pleasant relaxed professionalism. Grounds of estate and woodland make for an idyllic pre dinner walk .

My third time to visit Farnham. Brought my husband this time to check it out. As always Farnham is without doubt the best deal going. Lovely hotel, nicely decorated room with bath and separate shower, the friendliest of staff, free late checkout. Very laid back and that’s all before you see the fab warm indoor/outdoor pool. Swam in the subtly lit pool last night and this morning. Walked around the latke. A must if you would like a relaxing night or two away with family or friends. Also food in restaurant was delicious.

We spent a night away in the Farnham Estate. Check in process is very slow, however the Staff were very nice. Room was very nice,clean and modern.we ate in the maxwell restaurant.food was average. Fish cake fairly bland and boring, mains, we both had steaks and were just ok. Meat itself over cooked to what we requested. Plate contained braised shallots(tastless) watercress leaves(not washed or dressed) pepper sauce was very salty. Desserts both poor, Eton mess and tarte tartan. Breakfast next morning equally poor. Luke warm buffet on offer which was far from good quality. The positives were the spa area and spa team. I'd have no hesitation in recommending the hotel and spa but I'd advise to head into Cavan town to Dine as there are plenty of good quality eateries. PITY

Our experience was amazing from entering the hotel to leaving. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast and dinner were both tasty. The views were breathtaking. The room was spacious and had all you need. The pools and spa area was very relaxing.

Farnham estate is a gem of a place . I look forward to returning. Customer care starts once you arrive, with collection from the car park if you need help with bags etc. Staff are lovely, the hotel is beautiful, welcoming, clean & a perfect place to relax. Little extras like robes, waters in my room. The forest is great for walks. I chose to visit on my own this time & felt safe walking the grounds. I was made very comfortable at dinner & breakfast . If a bit of time out is needed it’s a great place to go !

This was my fifth return visit to the beautiful Farnham Estate. It is an annual treat for my two sisters and me. From the moment of our arrival to our departure we felt welcomed and spoilt. Our room was large, spotlessly clean and comfortable. We had bar food, two breakfasts and dinner in the restaurant. Each meal was delicious. All served by friendly and efficient staff. The spa and pool area are just gorgeous. The outdoor pool was our highlight. We did the beautiful 8km walk both days. Looking forward to returning next year.
