I booked a room and asked for a quite room with easy access as had hospital appointment. They put us in a extremely quite comfortable clean room with easy access, we could not have asked for more. The receptionist are very friendly, polite and accommodating. We ate in the lounge bar and only wanted something small and light had the Black Pudding starter and a Creme Bruleé and it was superb. The staff in the bar was extremely professional and friendly. Breakfast the next morning was served pipping hot and delicious again the staff excellent. Would 100% recommend this hotel and great to see staff that still shows the good honest Welcoming that a lot of hotel lack these days. Well done to all in The Farnham Arms
Stayed here on the 23rd of April and had paid 150 euros and to say it was a massive let down and it shouldn't be called a hotel it should only be called a bed and breakfast. Room was so basic, the bed was so squeaky ,tv had a green colour to it my partner couldn't watch the snooker ,and remote wouldn't work no iron and several things broken in the room. Tried to get a drink after we left our stuff in room but no bar open till 5 pm . We went to a function in another place and when we went back at approximately 12 we were told they don't have a residents bar so why are they calling themselves a hotel instead of bed and breakfast. Only gave it a 1 star as the staff were nice when u could find one and the breakfast was lovely.
Noisy and dirty. The bathroom grouting is more black than white. Shower is only accessible if you are less than a UK12 due to a handle taking up half of the space available to stand. Loud music playing all night. A Team by Ed Sheeran was played for an hour straight at 10pm. We called and asked the song to be changed and it continued. This is enough to make any person feel clinically insane. Decor is dated and in need of a refresh. Stains on wallpaper. However, the wallpaper may be thicker than the walls. You can hear every conversation and sound from the surrounding rooms. This is great when your neighbours are listening to the the Russia/Ukraine war on TV at 7am. A motion sensor light positioned opposite the bed meant that unless you fall asleep like a plank of wood, an LED light will come on and blind you as you try to fall asleep. AVOID.…
We were in Cavan for a football match. The Farnham Arms could be summed up as follows.. Clean & very comfortable room, friendly & efficient staff lovely breakfast. This is a real nice place I'd definitely return if in the Cavan area again.
Spent the weekend in the hotel, the room was extremely clean, beds were very comfortable and the shower had a good strong spray of water, breakfast order was taken by a member of staff, very friendly and pleasant, breakfast was lovely, and plenty of it. The coffee was the best I have had in any hotel,, a great stay
We only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer. From the moment we walked in the door the manager looked after us . Very good location right in the middle of the town.We ate in the bar and the staff looked after us with great food at a very reasonable price served nice and hot.The bar staff couldnt do enough very mannerly and well trained . Breakfast the next day was served nice and hot again the manager was around to see to our needs.
We wandered in for a few drinks and a bite to eat , What a great choice , Thomas looked after us very well and was great to chat to , The food and drink was of excellent quality, Lovely fresh crisp cold lager, Thai red curry was very nice indeed, Very well laid out for Covid distancing also , Well worth a visit , Thanks a million
LOVE this place! The service was amazing, and the rooms were clean and spacious. It's located in the heart of Cavan Town with plenty of parking in the back and plenty of shopping in the front. The best of all, was Michael ( the owner ) who went out of his way to connect my sister and I with a distant cousin. Co.Cavan is BEAUTIFUL! If you make a trip to Ireland, don't miss it and don't miss the Farnham Arms!
I stayed here for 10 nightscwhilst wirking in the area. Very central location, securecwell run premisus, lovely friendly staff, comfortable room. Informal and comfortable, everything worked in the rooms and the rooms were very clean. I had meals in the restaurant which were delicious with a grwat collection of craft beer. Highly reccomended
A seemingly humble hotel right in the middle of the town. FULL marks for service and food. The cleanliness of the rooms is super. The decor might be a little dated to some but I would say quaint and so efficient. Piping hot water and great water pressure in the shower. Excellent value for money. I have stayed in far "fancier" places for 3 times the price and honestly not half the quality. The staff are also so lovely. Nothing fancy or OTT or pretentious.. just great service and quality for a very fair price. I will be back!!!
