Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing views, great host who is also a busy farmer. Was only stopping 1 night but changed to 2 nights. Lovely local map and sights pointed out. Level hardstanding pitches, clean bathrooms, can not comment on showers as used our own. communal kitchen if needed with fridges etc. Biked to loop head about 20km, larger ring loop if more enthused cyclist. About 50km circle. The best seafood chowder ever at The Long dock in Carrigaholt is a must. Just back from paddling in the clearest waters as the tide heads out. Great site

Our family of 4 visited this park for a week this summer. It was such a great experience. The facilities were spotless and close to everything on the grounds. Loved the family who run and operate it and they made us feel right at home. Close drive to both Kilkee and Kilrush -- and very easy to do day trips from this central location. We'll definitely be back!

Absolutely great site , ran by the very nice Niall . No fuss booking . Extreemly clean well run . Great views over the Shannon estuary . Great hard stands for caravans and campers all with water . 5 min drive to carrigholt village with bars resturant and take away. So much to see and do . Loop head light house and bridges of Ross a must . Only 10 mins drive to kilkee town where you must swim in the Pollack holes . Kilkee and kilrush golf courses well worth a visit and very reasonable. I totally recommend co Clare .

We (a family of 5,2 adults 3 kids) stayed in a 3 bed mobile here and it was the best week. We arrived lateish on the Saturday but it was no problem.Niall is never too far away and he was very welcoming and informative ( please remember that he is a busy man). When we went into the mobile it was spotless and so spacious. The view was gorgeous from the big bay window. It has a brilliant shower, cooker fridge,TV,gas fire, lovely decking. Our mobile was a bit dated (this isn't an issue just a comment) comfortable beds and as i said loads of room, separate shower and bathroom major plus. The green was right in front of us which was great for the kids and safe. The shore line is beautiful and the water comes right in. some lovely 'permanent' summer residents that the kids made friends with and lovely comers and goers. There is a beautiful little private beach just minute drive away. Kilkee itself is only about 7 mins drive also. We would be delighted to go back again. If staying in the mobile bring EVERYTHING from soap to tinfoil. What is supplied are Pots, pans, cutlery, plates, bowls, cups, glasses and utensils..... Bring everything else. there are plenty of super markets inc Tesco, Aldi , Supervalue in Kilrush 15 mins away. The only thing i could add and would like to have seen would maybe a few speed ramps around. We had a fantastic week and everything was brilliant. Thanks Niall.

We stayed here for one night but would have stayed longer only our plans were already in place. Niall is vey friendly and extremely informative about the area. We had a camper camper van pitch. its right on the sea and really peaceful.Amazing amount of different birds for any birdwatchers around .If your looking for somewhere to really chill this place is just perfect. The only downside was the toilet block which was in the middle of all the mobile home area. Quite a long walk when your in a hurry for the loo !

What a stunningly quiet and picturesque place to stay. Situated in Upchurch this 5 van site is very spacious and surrounded by Apple orchards, sunflowers and fields. Access to this site is a little tricky. Your requested to use Oak Lane and NOT Breach Lane. We have a very large twin axle caravan and even Oak Lane by the Church was tight. Cars were parking is such a way it could be a problem. The site is through the other side of the village up a single track road. The entrance, a double gated driveway is quite wide but needs care getting in with long units. As does leaving as you need to then left out of the gates. Upon arriving we were greeted by the site owners and presented with a bag full of Brambly Cooking Apples. I did make a lovely Crumble with them. The site slopes but levelling out isn’t too much of an issue. At night you can hear owls and foxes and if your lucky you get to see some bats. The shower block is by far the best I have experienced and I would rate almost too hotel standards. All in all this is such a great site we are considering this to be one of our regular return sites.

Thanks to Patrick, Carrigaholt’s unofficial Ambassador & resident Postmaster, we were able to find the magnificent Green Acres Caravan & Camping Park - nearby (up to 6k qualifies as nearby in these parts), down an ‘unidentified Road’ in ‘Downtown Doonaha’. Thanks to Niall, the site owner, for recommending that we should dine in the Long Dock, in nearby Carrigaholt (see earlier definition of nearby, above). Lovely, friendly people, 5 * park, close (as in 100m) to the Shannon Estuary. As the night wore on, and the storm increased, either the Estuary seemed to get closer to us, or we seemed to get closer to the Estuary. If it’s great place in a storm, what must it be like when the weather is fine. A gem of a place.

My husband and I rented a mobile home from Niall for a week in early September, just when the schools had opened and the site was quiet and peaceful. The two bedroom mobile was located near the reception area. it was very clean and functional with a mixture of laminate and vinyl flooring in the living area. There was a small 12 inch screen tv but we decided to bring our own tv with us and that worked out well. The mobile was cosy but as it was September we did need the heat at night time and it was fine. We were delighted to have our own decking and picnic bench outside the unit and a very clean and dry concrete area for car parking.... a bonus! The site is tarmaced throughout and therefore always clean during wet weather. We had a lovely view of the Shannon Estuary too. The site is located in a very remote rural area so it's naturally peaceful, quiet and relaxing for guests. It doesn't have WIFI. Niall was very helpful, offering advice and tips about the area and a very hospitable host. It is important to stock up on supplies for this location as the nearest shops are in Kilkee and they aren't great. We stocked up in Kilrush on route as it has Tesco, Aldi and Supervalu. Don't miss the walk to the nearby sandy beach (directions from Niall). Kilkee is about 12km away. A walk on the Kilkee cliffs is a must. A drive to Loop Head is very worthwhile though the lighthouse is closed for the 2020 season.
