Myles Creek offered clean accommodation in a nostalgic venue in Kilkee. Street parking (unreserved) available. Breakfast served was delicious. Overall stay = value for money. The Kilkee Cliffs is within a short driving distance - definitely recommended!
We were made to feel so unwelcome by staff who were obviously nervous and under pressure. Another customer within earshot complained quite politely that the service was poor and was asked to leave for being abusive. We asked for boxes to take away our meals because things were deteriorating. We checked the charges the next day and saw that we were charged twice. We spoke to the manager over the phone and he asked for hard copy bank statements showing the charges before he would consider a refund, and said that he was too busy to check the till receipts. A week later, still no refund. Food is so-so, service deplorable, manager is obtuse and rude and obviously not familiar with the data protection act, customer service or any form of management.
We had a fantastic stay in Myles' hotel, the staff were extremely accommodating from the moment we arrived and were more than happy to accomodate any questions we had, always doing their best to ensure we were happy. We couldn't believe the value we got - for 3 people (in a triple room) we paid a total of €80 p/night including breakfast!!! It was a lot more on booking sites online, we just got that price by phoning the hotel and booking that way so I definitely recommend doing that. Got a delicious fry for breakfast, had a good veggie option too. Room was quite basic but very clean - we were delighted with it considering the price. Was great staying on the main street too. I'll definitely be back!
Would have expected with Covid that everywhere open would be spotlessly clean, however when we entered, the menus handed to us had bits of food all over them (not just one of them). If the menus are not cleaned down, then would question the overall cleanliness.
In these viral times, it was great to find this unpretentious inn had oodles of fresh towels, hot water, suds and sanitisers. Linens were fresh and soft and a decent mattress. Tea, coffee in rooms and freshly expressed coffee served at breakfast into 12noon. The Irish breakfast is hearty with good bacon and properly cooked eggs and tomatoes. A minute's walk from beach and free parking locally.
Our son was married at the Cliffs of Moher with a small private evening reception and breakfast the next morning at Myles Creek. Several family members stayed here with us for four nights, and every staff person was amazingly wonderful. We arrived later than expected the first night due to flight delays from the US, and they kept the kitchen open late for us so we could enjoy dinner there. The food was excellent, and the service prompt and friendly. Prices are very reasonable and we enjoyed every minute of our stay.
to be fair and honest we had a good stay in a good clean room (but internet didnt work in room) with a good pizza for our teens and evening meal for us adults in the bar/restaurant the day we arrived, but the breakfast was not cooked fresh to order and some of it looked so old i did suspect it could of been heated up from the day before if not sat there for a few hours, the help yourself coffee was instant and hard in the tin, no fresh in a pot and no pot of coffee only a mug served with poor cooked breakfast., would stay again for the room but would ask to book 'bed & no breakfast please!' i did mention to the desk on departure about the breakfast as did the couple before and after us, no discount offered as we had to pay for room on arrival too, i wonder why. . .
Good service, we were seated and order taken quickly, nice and clean, the food was excellent. Nice baby bowl was brought out very fast, adults food followed, fresh fish and chips was very good. We will be back.
We decided to go for food here at 4 o clock on a busy sunday in kilkee the beach was packed but we easily got a seat inside we came at this quiet time because my daughter has Autism and we knew crowds would not be a option for us, we sat down and asked the waitress for menus a high chair and for our table to be wipes down, my husband got up after a few mins of waiting and got menus which was fine my daughter however had not been given her high chair the girl we spoke to was just wondering around clearing glasses, so we all decided what to eat and tried to call waitress down to take order but with no such luck we continued to be ignored, I will go as far as saying we were here a good 20 mins now and no orders were taken no high chair received and our table was not wiped down, my husband took it upon himself to go to the bar & order to be told by the young man behind the bar he cannot take orders so my husbands came back down for waiting at the bar to find me with my daughter having a meltdown from waiting so long never have we ever had to wait that long for a high chair it was a total disgrace the place was not busy there were at least 3 other empty tables no excuse for not supplying a child with a high chair, we decided to leave we didn't even meet a waiter on our way out to complain it was shocking, never will I ever revisit this restraunt it is 100% not family friendly & definitely not special needs friendly, should be ashamed of the staff that are working in this restaurant total lack of care for the customer we are a family of 5 who were going to be ordering starters main course & dessert and drinks, Myles Creeks loss I guess we found q beautiful restaurant just up the road a bit…
We arrived at Myles Creek and the greeting was friendly. Our rooms were clean and the showers just right! At 6:00 we looked for a Kilkee restaurant but decided to trust a couple from Europe and we ordered home made 12” pizza. Thin crust and delicious! After a great sleep we ate the Irish Breakfast that was included and we are fuelled up for a day at the local cliffs! Thanks Deirdre and staff.
