On arrival at the property we found that it fell far short of standards expected of a holiday rental at any time but more especially in the current climate of COVID 19. After contacting West Coast Holiday homes and having a long and heated discussion with the manager the following morning it was agreed that the caretaker/cleaner would come and carry out a proper cleaning of the property in line with COVID 19 guidelines. Overall paintwork throughout the house is dirty and shabby, skirting boards are dirty, dust behind storage heaters, dust in extractor fans in en-suite and bathroom, uncomfortable beds, no mattress protectors, no additional pillows or blankets. There are also issues with rusty storage heaters with some of them secured to the wall with cable ties. Ancient cooker with rust on it, broken blind in kitchen, rusty light fittings throughout with bulbs missing. Mould and rusting toilet roll holders in bathroom & ensuite. Broken curtain hooks resulting in curtains not closing properly in the bedroom.Wooden Architrave around the bathroom door falling off the wall. Rotting garden table and bench in the dilapidated outdoor area. There is a very obvious need for serious maintenance to be carried out on the property. Westcoast Holiday Homes website reads as follows ....... All our Irish Holiday Homes are finished and maintained to the highest standard............ this clearly is not correct as is evidenced from our stay and that of other reviewers who stayed in other Atlantic View properties let by WestCoast Holiday Homes.

This was the dirtiest, dampest, most poorly equipped house I have ever rented - 36 Atlatic View, Kilkee. They also rent numbers 35 and 19 so be prepared for more of the same there. Mould on curtains, ceilings and wall. The management company West Coast Holidays who advertise luxury well equipped houses told me not to contact them again after I asked for cutlery ,as only 2 knives were provided.I booked via Interhome and they don't want to take responsibilty either. Only a trickle from the shower in the main bathroom so everyone needs to use en suite shower. Mattresses must be 30 years old as is the cooker so don't expect to be cooking anything that can't be done in a microwave. The iron doesn't work. Some windows didn't open and the blinds didn't work and there was a smell of pets. Overall a very poor experience for a very large rent and no Covid protections- only one of the five beds having a mattress cover. Neither company interested in taking responsibility for the poor quality once they have your money. Save your money and go camping - it would be more luxurious.

We stayed in number 36 and booked through West Coast Holiday Homes. There is little I can say that is positive about the experience. The house itself was old, poorly maintained, grubby and needs a lot of money spent on it to bring it up to scratch. The fact that somebody rents out this place at such an extortionate price during high season is laughable. It really is that bad. The bed was the worst I have ever slept on. The rooms smelt of damp. The dishwasher was broken. The clothes dryer was so rusty you couldn't put anything on it to dry. All corners of the house were dirty, Even the curtains in the bedroom were grubby. The location is probably the only good thing about this house. Avoid.

We booked this off bookings.com. Number 1 Atlantic view homes kilkee for a week in August. Our card was charged nearly 1000 euro straight away. 5 days before our stay I received a email off bookings at 2 in the morning to say the owner can’t facilitate our stay and offered us a house in doonbeg in the middle of no where 16 km away with no compensation nothing. I rang interhomes ( German company that mailed me my travel and contact info for holiday and they couldn’t speak English properly but told me to contact bookings as the owner cancelled the holiday but could not give a reason. So I rang bookings.com who couldn’t explain why owner had cancelled. They said it was beyond their control and offered me a house miles away in the middle of no where for the Same price. I believe that the owner got a better price off some one they knew and cancelled mine 5 days out. I am speculating but since interhomes and bookings don’t have a flipping clue I am going with that until someone proves me wrong. I am still waiting for interhomes to ring me back. Nothing yet. Same with bookings.com. Overall. DO NOT BOOK WITH INTERHOMES OR BOOKINGS.COM AT ATLANTIC VIEW HOMES NO 1. We are a family now without a holiday 5 days out from arrival date. Awaiting a refund too

These properties vary in terms of comfort, views, cleanliness, cooking / kitchen facilities and service in-terms of getting appliances fixed, bins emptied or drains unblocked. The weather is a big factor and also the peak summer time is less flexible and more expensive. Location (Sea View props) is v good for Wild Atlantic view; Family and group oriented rentals and offers a sociable atmosphere when weather good and people are about.
