We traveled to kilkee for a group trip. I really couldn't fault anything about the trip and our stay. Our rooms were all ready when we arrived. The rooms are recently re decorated and were decorated to a very high standard. There were lovely additional features such as coffee & tea facilities, bathrobes & slippers. We had dinner booked as part of our package and our group of 14 people were all really impressed with the service and the quality of the food. The breakfast the following morning was also top notch. Highly recommend when you are visiting clare
We had dinner there recently in this hotel. The Restaurant / Bar has been recently renovated and is very nice and inviting. The food was very good and most enjoyable. Service was slow, however every meal is cooked freshly to order which is nice. Prices are at "fine dining" levels so it is a little expensive. We certainly will revisit.
The hotel is in a great location. We (my wife and 2 adult daughters) booked a. Table by the window for the late afternoon. View of the bay was great. The menus arrived . To say they were shabby would be a total understatement. They had burn marks on each of them from a candle possibly. A section even missing out of one of them. The menu choice was small and even with that they were clearly substitutes because of lack of correct ingredients eg Spring roll with duck was changed to spring roll with chicken and cheese… 2 of us had fish and then we realised there was no sauce. Oh chef must have forgot…. Food was very average. Bill arrived in a shabby (torn wallet ). Very expensive for what we had. The view was what saved me from rating a 2
Myself my 2 children along with my sister with her 2 children had dinner in this restaurant. Service was terrible had to wait 45 minutes for food, complained of very small portion for kids pasta, manager very unhelpful, services staff eating sweets and chocolate behind the counter . While we were there another family left due to waiting time for their order. We will definitely not be back.
The meal and server were good but the waiting time was extremely long. The hostess did nothing to make things better and only came over to say how sorry she was about the waiting time. So many things missing from the table such as cutlery, bread, condiments etc. to top it all off we were charged in full. So disappointed in our experience. Will not return
Stayed here for one night on a road trip round Ireland- fabulous spacious room - shower fantastic. Really quiet and beds so comfortable. Very clean - couldn't fault our stay. Staff are lovely and so helpful.
Stayed as a couple for one night. Friendly and efficient check in. Beautiful room. We had our dinner in the bar. Excellent meal and reasonably priced. The best hotel in Kilkee without a doubt. We will be back again!
Ate here last weekend in the bar, place has recently been renovated and unfortunately the lovely pub feel is gone and its now a restaurant. The bay view has also another restaurant which is deemed more up market, its a pity the bar has been changed, as it was nice for a casual drink or food. Staff are always nice, maybe not very observant, when your seated your not given menus or water for a while. Over all we'll definitely be back as food is good but won't be our local while on holiday
Spent 6 nights here whilst on business in nearby Kilrush, chose to stay in Kilkee as I had read good things about the views and this hotel in particular, and was definitely not disappointed! The hotel is situated a 30 second walk from the beach and has free on-street parking, spaces were always available even over a busy Easter weekend. Highly recommend the Kilkee cliff-walk, the views are spectacular from start to finish. I was in room 104 which is on the North-Western corner - west side window faces the beachfront, 2 large windows on the North side allowed a lot of natural light in to the room. Space in the room was a little tight, but as I was by myself it wasn't a huge issue, it was spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. Only small downside to the room was the lack of wall sockets - 3 in the room but each of them was occupied by the TV, floor lamp and bedside lamp, meaning I had to unplug the beside lamp to charge my phone or boil the kettle. The bathroom was also a tight fit but again spotless with a modern black design with large LED-lit mirror. Shower featured both a rainfall and movable shower head, water took 30 seconds to heat up but stayed hot for the duration and pressure was very comfortable - no shaving socket the only issue. Food in the restaurant and bar is exceptional, with breakfast being up there with the best I've ever had. A selection of sweet bread and pastries is provided to each table on arrival along with butter, jam and marmalade, served on an afternoon tea-style tower - very fancy! Evening meals are of a similar high standard, some items a little pricey perhaps but you get what you pay for, each meal I had was better than the last and the service was excellent from all staff. Specials are available and change daily. Make sure to book a table for breakfast and dinner at reception as it's usually busy, especially in the evenings. Finally, the staff can't be spoken of highly enough here. Amanda at reception and Camilla in the restaurant/bar area were absolute superstars. Both were so polite, always had a smile and no request was an issue for them, addressed guests by their names as well which is always a nice touch - made the hotel feel very homely. The owner (who's name I didn't catch) was often on site as well, she showed me to my room on arrival to check that it was suitable, and stopped by at dinner a couple of times to ask how my meal had been, shows a lot of care goes into this place and it definitely pays off. Wonderful hotel with amazing staff, can't wait to return!…
Myself and my wife stayed for one night. We have a real nice room with a view off the sea from our window. The room was modern and the shower was excellent. We had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent. My wife had the chicken which had lovely taste and I has a superb ribeye steak. I had the lavender creme brûlée with ginger ice cream which as fantastic. My wife loved her chocolate fondant. Breakfast the best morning was gorgeous. With one of the most spectacular seaside walks in Ireland on the doorstep of this hotel. We will definitely be back again.
