Stayed here for two nights B&B, 2 adults and 2 children!! Family rooms were nice and big,1 x double bed and 2 x good sized single beds! Bathroom was very big but could do with a standalone shower! Lovely views out of the hotel from reception and from the bar, grounds outside were very nice and only a 5min walk into town!! The leisure center was great, big closed in slide for the kids, sauna, steam room, plunge pool and jacuzzi along with a decent sized swimming pool which had 3 separate sections (different depths)!! Changing room drying area could be a little bigger - but may have been overcrowded with it being mid-term!! Food in the bar was really, really good, so good we ate in the bar for the two nights and weren't disappointed!! Very rare all four of us enjoy our food when we eat out but here we sid on other nights, food came out fresh and piping hot, really impressed!! Breakfast had everything you could ask for and food again was very good!! Staff we met throughout were so nice and made so much of the kids (welcome goodie pack, cookies & milk voucher and helping them with their bags)!! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back again!!

Hi Staff,

I would like to thank you on behalf of my wife and I for the upgrade to the corner room overlooking the Derg

An amazing way to finish, what is likely to be my ultimate visit to Ireland.

Having lived in the area (Kilroughil) when Dell was in its heyday it has been nearly 25 years since my last visit and tonight’s upgrade is a fantastic way to finish a lovely few days revisiting old haunts.

For anyone reading this on Social Media or the LakeSide Hotel homepage I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The staff are so welcoming and friendly that you’ll never want to leave.

From the moment you enter, the administration staff at the front desk couldn’t be more helpful and kind, through to the bar staff and waiting staff who are so helpful. The food is exquisite, the Guiness is chilled to perfection and the Craic is mighty.

Having stayed in many hotels throughout the world I can honestly say the LakeSide ranks very highly amongst the good and the great for many reasons.

If you are visiting Ireland’s west coast then Killaloe and the LakeSide Hotel is defiantly worth a cheeky few nights stay. This definitely is a 10 out of 10 hotel to stay in

Spent one night at this hotel with my son to break a long journey. Absolutely loved this hotel, the staff were all so professional, welcoming and friendly, especially the lovely gentleman who greeted us at breakfast, he was simply delightful!!
Food in bar was very good and well priced and the kids menu had great choices including fruit and veggies which I am always delighted to see.
Breakfast was plentiful, fresh and well- present. Good coffee too!!
My son loved the leisure centre and all of the staff on the desk and the lifeguards around the pool area were very attentive and hardworking.
Minor gripe maybe is that the room was a little tired and dated. The decor and furniture was very heavy but that's just my personal opinion. I had a great night's sleep and will definitely be back with my husband and other 2 kids soon.

My husband and I booked a Senior deal for 3 nights B&B with 2 dinners included. We arrived on Sunday and we’re given an upgrade to a waterfront room which was such a welcome treat! We were so lucky with the weather, and to wake with the sun shining off the water right outside our window was a delight!
The staff throughout the hotel were excellent. Food was very good. Their Fish Chowder was yummy but be aware that it is a lunch size, really too big for a starter at dinner. The breakfast was delicious, whether you’re having hot or cold food. And options are well catered for with gluten free cereals, vegetarian fry and soy milk provided. We had room service breakfast one morning and our porridge, which was delicious, arrived perfectly hot and creamy with a smile and at the time requested. And we also had drinks delivered from the bar on two evenings and I swear you couldn’t have got them faster if you were standing at the bar! On the whole we loved everything about this place and will be going back for sure.

We stayed there over a weekend. The rooms at the waterfront building are amazing and very modern. However, the main building of the hotel requires some renovation I feel including the leisure centre. For the dinner we were seated in the restaurant that was fully decorated for a wedding and it almost felt we were attending one. The menu choice was ok, as well as the drinks menu. However, the steak that was ordered to be cooked “rare” was served “well done”, the waitress apologised and offered a new portion together with any free drink from the menu and didn’t charge any supplement charge for the stake.
During the night the smart tv in the room was turning out itself which was a bit weird, around 5am the fire alarm went off.
When booking the stay on their website the offered an add-on of robes and slippers for €15 which I added on to have. However turns out every room at the waterfront includes it and I asked for a refund at the reception. I feel the website when booking the waterfront rooms should detect it and not to offer this option as this is confusing.
For the breakfast the bar was full and we were seated at the hall across the reception but the food there was gone and we had to go to the main bar through the reception to grab something, which was inconvenient.
Kasia at the reception was very nice and friendly!

Overall Eoin and the team should be very proud of the product and service they offer, I would highly recommend The Lakeside Hotel, which was spotlessly clean, the team from start to finish were amazing, and we will definitely be back. We had the most amazing stay at The Lakeside Hotel. From start to finish this hotel wow'ed with Derbhla on reception being most helpful even prior to our arrival. Thomas on check in was fabulous and most informative of the hotel, then James kindly assisted us with our luggage to our room. Upon entering the superior lakeview rooms we were so impressed, genuinely jaw dropping you would mistake for being on a Rivera abroad. Our dinner then was divine to say the least from the Goats Cheese Salad to the Chicken Supreme and the Chicken Burger to the Banoffee Pie. Even the kids meal was fresh and fabulously presented. We availed of room service one day and they kindly provided a highchair for use of our childs meal.... nothing was too much of an ask and all staff more than happy to go above and beyond, James was so kind as to look after us for our meals. Emma and the breakfast team were fantastic and very attentive, providing me alternatives including a vital oat cappuccino and Delicious Eggs Florentine on gluten free bread. When asking Emma about activities to do in the area she advised about the river cruise. The leisure club was a huge hit for our family with a special surprise of the indoor water slide! Danielle was so lovely and attentive on the LC reception. We then availed of a 20% discount from Ken on reception for the Killaloe River Cruise- James and Aoife were so lovely, and kindly told us other activities in the area.

Avoid the obvious big name hotel chains and stay here!Absolutely gorgeous family run hotel and we all agreed it was one of the best in Ireland. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and immaculate inside and very tastefully presented. The family room was huge with a moveable tv bracket, fridge, comfy beds, modern decor (especially the sparkly wallpaper!)and a large bay window too. The hotel itself is set in magnificently manicured colourful gardens overlooking the gorgeous Lough Derg, of which there are stunning views from the bar.The staff are friendly, attentive and nothing was too much to ask. Celebrating our wedding anniversary they gifted us a plate of treats including macarons and chocolate dipped strawberries, not to mention the lovely towel origami swans and rose petals! We booked B&B with dinner also and all food was exceptional. As a vegan there was so much choice. I really can't commend the hotel enough for the choice,I was spoiled and even had my own vegan menu! The curry was delicious and carrot cake for dessert was the best I have ever tasted.Thank you and huge compliments to the chef.Kids choices were also fantastic and steaks are top notch too I believe.Extra side portions and scoops of icecream were all added without extra cost which we really appreciate too. Breakfast was a treat. A pancake machine provided plenty of fresh pancakes for the family, juices ,cereals, my own vegan cooked breakfast(yum!), lots of breads and pastries too on offer. We were spoiled for choice and could have easily spent several days here, mostly eating!! In terms of things to do, we visited the cliffs of Moher and Aillwee caves which were superb(both approx 1hr 25min drive away). To be honest you could gladly spend your time here lounging about admiring the stunning scenery without the need to go further afield. For us, on this occasion, it was the perfect base to see Clare in all its amazingness. We will definitely be back, firstly to stay in one of your new stunning lakeside rooms, complete with balconies overlooking Lough Derg and secondly to have a go on the waterslide in the leisure centre! Thanks to all at the Lakeside hotel, keep up the fantastic work❤️

Hi, I would suggest that they bring their own equipment as that would be the norm really. We could by all means heat pre pre prepared bottles, wash out bottles but would leave sterilising and preparation to the parents. I hope that helps

Hi Cait, There are plenty of things to do in the area from having a cruise on the lake, lots of water based activities such as canoeing, stand up paddling, guided kayaking, etc., local bikepark (mountain bike trails), Chocolate factory tours and lots more in the wider environs. We can help plan all activities by calling and booking for you. They all can be paid for directly which is great for you so you can take them when suits you. Great base for exploring the region.
