Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Another fantastic stay in this hotel. Having been to Killaloe dozens of times over the years from when I was a child until now, this is only the second time we have stayed in The Lakeside. Myself and my wife have stayed in their waterfront rooms twice now in last three years. On both occasions we can't fault this hotel and it's lovely staff. Nothing is faultless in this world but the staff here make lakeside a faultless hotel. We couldn't say one bad thing about them from start to finish. We havent stayed in the main hotel but I'm sure their rooms are lovely. I would highly recommend the waterfront rooms and especially the upper floor rooms. Rooms 201-208 have uninterrupted views of the river from their balconies. We just love sitting on the balcony or in the Cosy chairs inside the floor to ceiling sliding door looking at the boats and wildlife meander up and down the river. The other rooms are as good just we like to be slightly higher up. If your visiting killaloe try book a room in the Lakeside.

Room Tip: Try book rooms 201-208 on waterfront block, peaceful views over the river.

Charming hotel with fabulous location - lovely colorful well tended gardens right on the river and only short walk to the town. We had a Waterfront room which was beautiful, very spacious and lovely calming décor. Very comfy bed, coffee machine, bottled water. Food is great, had lunch and breakfast in hotel, probably one of nicest freshest breakfast I've had on hotel stay and plenty of choice. There is also a leisure center with gym, pool and waterslide If travelling with kids (or big kids) - Highly recommend this hotel

We stayed in an overwater room. Views were spectacular. Swimming pool has an indoor slide that would rival any waterpark abroad. Great entertainment for families. Food in restaurant was lovely, great choice! All staff were very friendly

This hotel is lovely. We stayed for 2 nights in one of the superior lakeside rooms. A large well furnished room with a balcony looking directly on the Shannon. The staff are professional and friendly and the food is lovely. It's our 4th visit and I can say we will be back. Martina Galway

A fantastic location, sitting on the river but the huge feature if this establisgment is the staff are a credit to this hotel. A young group if staff who are frwindly attentive and give this hotel a homely relaxed environment . Food as good or better than anywhere you would like to go in the area. Pool and slide a huge hit with 2 young boys.

Overall Eoin and the team should be very proud of the product and service they offer, I would highly recommend The Lakeside Hotel, which was spotlessly clean, the team from start to finish were amazing, and we will definitely be back. We had the most amazing stay at The Lakeside Hotel. From start to finish this hotel wow'ed with Derbhla on reception being most helpful even prior to our arrival. Thomas on check in was fabulous and most informative of the hotel, then James kindly assisted us with our luggage to our room. Upon entering the superior lakeview rooms we were so impressed, genuinely jaw dropping you would mistake for being on a Rivera abroad. Our dinner then was divine to say the least from the Goats Cheese Salad to the Chicken Supreme and the Chicken Burger to the Banoffee Pie. Even the kids meal was fresh and fabulously presented. We availed of room service one day and they kindly provided a highchair for use of our childs meal.... nothing was too much of an ask and all staff more than happy to go above and beyond, James was so kind as to look after us for our meals. Emma and the breakfast team were fantastic and very attentive, providing me alternatives including a vital oat cappuccino and Delicious Eggs Florentine on gluten free bread. When asking Emma about activities to do in the area she advised about the river cruise. The leisure club was a huge hit for our family with a special surprise of the indoor water slide! Danielle was so lovely and attentive on the LC reception. We then availed of a 20% discount from Ken on reception for the Killaloe River Cruise- James and Aoife were so lovely, and kindly told us other activities in the area.
