We had a wonderful few days here with our extended family to celebrate our wedding. We cannot compliment the hotel and it's staff highly enough. The setting overlooking the lake is stunning. Every member of staff went above and beyond to make our time there special. The food was excellent, the rooms very comfortable and spotless. The kids loved the swimming pool, playing in the garden. Plenty of peaceful spots for couples to have a quiet moment. It's a very short walk into Killaloe & Ballina. If you're thinking of going, just do, I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as we did. We recently had the pleasure of staying at the lakeside. We were there for a wedding and it was probably the best wedding meal we ever had. Hats off to the chef and team in the kitchen The meal was flawless from start to finish and so tasty, Any restaurant in Ireland would be proud to have such flavoursome and well presented food grace it’s plates. Also the waiting staff were so friendly helpful and polite. They couldn’t do enough. The reception staff were so friendly, helpful and super efficient. Such a wonderful little hotel in a beautiful part of the country but the amazing staff make it so good. Our only regret was that we weren’t staying longer. We will definitely return.
Cannot recommend the hotel and the staff enough. It was our wedding anniversary and we arrived to a lovely surprise in our room ( see pics ) The lakeside rooms are a perfect way to relax. The view and whole area is stunning. The food was an added bonus.
Location is stunning, especially if you get the weather like we did. Hotel entrance is modern but bar is disappointing and unappealing. The corridors to the bedrooms are dated and carpets in need of modernisation. The bedroom was underwhelming, felt it was partly redecorated, didn't like bed throw or cushions as they are old and tatty. Bathroom in our room was a tight fit but functional. Staff make the hotel, as everyone we interacted with were very polite and courteous and professional. Pool area and changing rooms also in need of an overhaul. Locker keys all rusty and not functional, hottub area is slightly grubby. No changing rooms, no bags for wet swimwear, so leisure centre in need of an upgrade.
This is an excellent Hotel in a great location. We were allocated a lovely room for our 2 night stay, very clean. We dined in the Bar on both nights, great food. The staff in this Hotel were lovely and friendly and very helpful at all times. Looking forward to my next visit.
We travelled quite a distance to enjoy lunch at this hotel but it certainly wasn't worth it. We ate bar food in the spacious bar/lounge on an averagely busy Sunday recently. All the serving and bar staff were pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive. Top marks to them. However, the food was basic - I ordered a chicken burger with guacamole (straight from a squeezy tube I expect) served with limp rocket leaves and some packaged carrot gratings, and a couple of small tomatoes. The Open Prawn and Crab sandwich was swimming in mayonnaise and the veggie pitta option could have been prepared by my 12 year old. The table we sat at was marked in several places and the seating was uncomfortable and the wrong height for the table. The owners need to sit up and take notice - customers won't pay for this quality when there's much better available locally.…
I would like to complement the very friendly professional waitress called Maeve who served my husband and I in the bar. It was very busy but she made sure we were well looked after. So nice to be looked after so well. Food was lovely too.
Stayed recently- super location and nice gardens. Old hotel building with its challenges- new on the Waterside development. We stayed in Room 201- superb for a quiet riverside location- not overlooked but doesn't have the lovely down water views of the bridge. Dinner was very impressive and breakfast was of a good standard.
In the region for a work trip and came across this gem. Convenient location, friendly staff, clean, comfortable rooms, walkable into town, tasty , plentiful breakfast with loads of variety. Turned out to be a great choice for accommodation. Recommend.
Both of us had never been to Ballina or Killaloe before so we decided to correct that. The Hotel was in a perfect location for all the local Pubs and Restaurants. The Lough Derg Cruise ship was also a short walk away. Well worth the trip. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable beds. Most importantly their was ample parking.
