A day to remember !!
We had our daughters 30th birthday in Barberstown Castle. We booked it with Samantha the events manager.
Our daughter has profound special needs so we wanted to have a special day with family & friends. We chose the old castle banquet room. Our guests & us were blown away by the rooms ambience & warmth . The choice of food was served piping hot & cooked to perfection. The waiters were so attentive & Richard & Ted we’re on hand to make sure Rebecca’s day went to perfection. I’d highly recommend barberstown castle for any event.
Thank you Barberstown Castle for creating the perfect birthday for our Girl.

We got married at Barberstown Castle in early 2019. What can we say - the wedding team are SUPERB! They are so experienced and nothing felt like a silly question. We were organising the wedding from London so having people we could rely on made all the difference - particularly Sara, who we have made a real friend in, but also Denise and Susanne were just fabulous. The whole weekend was perfect from the welcome drinks in the garden bar, to the dinner in the castle keep on Friday night, the wedding reception on Saturday and the afters in the Haggard on Sunday. Everything is there in the one location that you could possibly need to make a real weekend of it and the venue is just charming with so much history. The catering team served the most delicious food and clearly take such pride in their work, as all our guests can testify to. We have been back to stay and been welcomed with open arms since - we couldn’t have asked for a more special, welcoming place to get married and would highly recommend it to other couples. Thank you, Barberstown!

Lovely wedding venue with separate courtyard and dining area, delicious food at the wedding and lovely attentive staff all wearing masks.

Tray charge for breakfast to the room was €10 per person which I felt might have been increased due to our stay being for a wedding (5* Marker Hotel charges €8 per room for comparison). Breakfast selection was poor and the breakfast rooms were tiny - 3 tables all on top of each other.

Our room was right beside reception which mean it was really noisy so ask for one on the second floor.

I found the “excessive alcohol” clause in their welcome pack a bit strange. Essentially telling guests they’ll be searching rooms for alcohol which I’m not sure is legal!

We had our Wedding Reception here in 2005 and returned for a one night stay with dinner on Valentine's night.

On arrival the receptionist was very welcoming. We had ordered a Junior Suite and were absolutely delighted with our room, the four poster bed was incredible and we were more than happy with the amenities in the room.

We went for a drink before dinner and the girl serving us was great in helping us to choose what to drink (we went for a local Pilsner) and also organised that our dinner reservation was put back 15 minutes so we weren't rushed.

Dinner was fantastic and Richard the General Manager went out of his way to make us feel welcome and even sourced a wine for us that wasn't on the wine list.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and I would have no hesitation in recommending Barberstown Castle.

I have never met such an unenthused wedding team when it came to covid weddings no interest in govt guideline weddings, got sold the dream pre covid. Guests paid there rooms upfront and never got refunded as per the hotels policy after the wedding was pulled due to covid matters. Arranged two calls with wedding team in covid period which were around our work schedule and neither were adhered too, other friends of ours whom have weddings in 2021 had nothing but great things to say about their venues where ours unfortunately wasn’t the case.

We had our wedding at Barberstown Castle last weekend and couldn’t rate and recommend it highly enough.

The first time we visited Barberstown Castle we knew straight away it was the perfect venue for our big day. The relaxed and professional approach immediately put us at ease when making such a big decision. Sara’s warm welcome and total passion for the venue, made us feel like we were in good hands and we weren’t wrong.

They are true experts in the planning process and offered plenty of advice. Every little detail was taken care of which made for the most perfect weekend. We’ve had 3 dates in the diary due to Covid and they were most accommodating helping us to rearrange each time. We became on near first name terms with the whole team at Barberstown and they were always at the end of emails and the phone to answer any question, no matter how small. On the days we stayed at Barberstown, Richard and Ted were always on hand, even into the small hours of the morning.

We’ve had so much positive feedback from our guests on what a stunning venue it was, how well fed and looked after they were and the quality and comfort of the rooms.

Massive thank you Sara, Richard, Ted and the full team at Barberstown Castle for giving us a weekend to remember. We couldn’t possibly have asked for more.

A slow start to bringing out the starters, and a mistake inputting an oysters starter left one of our group waiting for the remainder of the order while we had finished.

Although I couldn't fault the freshness of the ingredients, the seafood chowder starterlacked the creaminess I like in a chowder. No prawns, mussels or crab meat (not an expectation on my part) and only 1-2 pieces of smoked fish.

The sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce and artichoke made for a good recovery. The steak has never disappointed at Barberstown Castle (whether it's the Barton Rooms Restaurant or The Garden Bar)

The Garden Bar dining area Persuan decor is fabulous and 8 have to say I prefer it to that of The Barton Rooms Restaurant.

It’s like a home from home fairytail experience, the staff are the friendliest o have ever encountered so helpful accommodating and friendly, the breakfast was amazing and again the ladies were so nice, the dinner was so tastey the choice was great and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed every course, compliments to the chef on the presentation also, and Alan the barman made us special cocktails for Hayley’s birthday they were the nicest I ever tasted! I have to say that’s the staff make this stay wonderful from the moment you walk in until the minute you leave. The rooms are so well designed and the comfort of the bed and furniture is abasing. The little extras are great also like chocolate’s in the room the toiletries smell divine and you want for nothing. Honestly the nicest place I have stayed and they offer great deals watch out on living social and other sites aswell as their own. €249 for two in a four poster superior room with two courses of your choice, Prosecco chocolates is a pure bargain for the experience you get! Highly recommend a visit plus you can have you dinner in the actual castle if you book in advance fit €42 per person another once in a lifetime experience for any occasion!

From the moment we booked Barberstown Castle in January 2019, Richard and Sara were always on hand to help us plan our big day!
We will never forget our first viewing in Barberstown, we were blown away. From the beautiful grounds, the stunning banquet hall and most of all the fabulous ceremony room. The fires were lighting which made the place so comfortable. Winter summer or an Autumn wedding Barberstown is just perfect. The bedrooms were so spacious and clean, all of our guests were so surprised that they had a 4 poster bed. Our suite was stunning we had a gorgeous view of the grounds and our families and friends were all on the same floor as us.

It wasn’t easy planning a wedding during a global pandemic. We postponed the wedding once but Richard and Sara were so helpful in every way.

Our family and friends are still talking about the gorgeous tasty food. The duck spring rolls and the roast chicken dinner was amazing! We were honestly so happy with everything. The service was top notch, the waiting staff were so friendly especially Arlene who set up the tables the days before the wedding. She was always there checking in with us. So thank you for been so kind efficient and accommodating Arlene.

We really enjoyed our day 2 celebrations in the haggard pub. We loved that it was separate to the wedding venue. The bbq food was delicious all of our guests really enjoyed it.

Richard and Sara you both deserve so much credit, we can’t thank you both enough!
We are so happy we picked barberstown as our wedding venue because there is honestly no other venue out there as beautiful as Barberstown!
Both management and staff went above and beyond any of our expectations.

Thanks for everything over the past few months and we cannot wait to go back next year for our anniversary. I think family and friends will be following us :))

We stumbled upon this gem while searching for a last minute romantic getaway. The location, close to Kildare Village Shopping Outlet, was an added bonus.
From the minute we booked, we were being looked after with a call to arrange our evening meal and breakfast. The hotel, grounds and location are impressive on arrival and the welcome from the staff was super. Really wonderful customer service!!

We checked into a junior suite with a four poster bed and they had left a special anniversary treat for us! We couldn't have felt more welcome in the bar and dining area and we enjoyed a delicious meal.

The newly refurbished restaurant and reception areas are top class. The breakfast was a really high standard with a delicious Full Irish (which of course can be a greasy option but this was kept as clean and light as a Full Irish can be). The fresh fruit and pastry options were of a really high standard - the scones were perfection!

This is a real 'one to watch' in this country house market. We will be hearing Barberstown Castle mentioned with the Best in Ireland in the near future.
If we could go back and get married again...this would definitely be our choice!!

Barberstown castle hotel is historical hotel and I think any kind of the swimming pool would be inappropriate. There is a pool really close in Clane in Westgrove hotel open to public.

The bar in the hotel is well stocked, it's about 15ft long with a decent amount if seating around. The bar in the wedding venue room is about the same size with a foyer area which leads back to the main room. Both are decorated in style fitting to the castle and the drinks were cheap for us due to the Euro rate versus £ at the minute..cheaper than drinking in England anyway.
