I can't thank Adrienne enough. During the covid crisis, and well into 2021, Adrienne offered her rooms to front line workers who came to help in letterkenny hospital. As a front line worker the accommodation she offered, even in a pandemic, was first class and allowed many professionals to help that otherwise wouldn't have been able to. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and much more 5* hotel standard than the name Hostel suggests. The ensuite shower was blissfully warm and the bed was extremely comfortable. The location is absolutely in the centre of town but you'd never know it with the trees and grassland surrounding the buildings. I can't recommend Adrienne's rooms enough and I will certainly be booking here anytime I'm in Letterkenny.

When we arrived at the property, the hostess was not there which was quite frustrating as it was really cold outside. When she finally arrived, she started making comments on the nationality of some of our groups member. We got led into our rooms, which were okay, but nothing special. She then asked us if we wanted to change into a different room for 3 people. We agreed. However, this was followed by running to and from the new room in the cold as the hostess did not seem to know which keys were the right ones. The room we got then seemed recently renovated and was quite nice. However, the toilet seat was broken which was not particularly handy. There are 2 people that welcome you, although we did not really all feel welcome, one of them was really unfriendly and rude, the other was much nicer and gave us some information on where to get some food and how to work the door and stuff. We decided to mingle with the other people staying at the hostel and drink, which we were allowed to do, because the hostess specifically told us that we could do whatever we wanted. When we woke up the next morning, she was complaining that there was a mess, already taking pictures, even though we were already cleaning up and we also were not the only ones staying there, there were also Irish people who did not clean up after themselves either because they were still sleeping. After cleaning up we all left and later that day, our tour guide got a call that apparently we 'completely ruined the common room' and we were accused of drinking way too much. Both of these claims were lies. Had the hostess been friendly, I would have recommended this hostel as it is cheap, is well located, has decent rooms and an okay breakfast. Sadly this was not the case and she actually made us feel miserable because of her rudeness. Would not recommend.

We stayed last weekend and enjoyed the lovely welcoming atmosphere that Adrienne has created. Our room was spacious, clean and had everything that wee needed. We also made use of the kitchen, the lounge and the free pool table! Thanks for a great stay.

Great welcome from Adrienne and her staff. Although it's described as a hostel (and I'm sure groups, international travellers, students, etc. have a fantastic time) we stayed in a lovely large double room with a fabulous en suite - definitely hotel quality. All the accomodation is spaced out in secluded grounds and it was quiet and peaceful even though there were plenty of other guests. Great location - you wouldn't know you were only 3 minutes walk to the town.

We stayed for one night and really enjoyed our stay. Adrienne was lovely and made us very welcome. The room was huge and warm, with lovely comfy beds and a clean and modern bathroom. Apple Hostel is in a great location, tucked away and quiet and yet very near the town centre. Definitely recommended!

We stayed here for one night only and that was definitely enough. We didn’t have a room in the main building and had to share a bathroom with the other people in the building. It was extremely dirty, the tap wasn’t even properly attached to the sink, draining the water was impossible and the water in the shower couldn’t even wash out the shampoo in my hair. Everywhere in the bath we’re dead insects. The room itself was bearable. The mattresses were very hard and you could feel every metal spiral in them. The pillow cases had some stains on them. The staff was very nice during checking in tho.
