Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were here for a wedding and stayed for a night as well. This was perhaps one of the most beautiful and history filled hotels we have ever visited. The staff was absolutely incredible, everyone from the concierge to the bartender was friendly and very helpful. And the venue for the wedding was fantastic. The 100 acre property is also stunning.

I booked my room directly with the hotel over the phone and I was given a rate for the family for one night B & B with an Email proof from the hotel. When I checked in on the 8th of August the manager increased the rate and quoted a higher rate than what I got in the Email reservation. Despite my repeated requests and showed her the email proof but she said no and refused the booking I Made over the phone with that hotel. Anyways when entered our 2 BR accommodation there was no soap and hand wash in the bathroom. I found the behavious of the manager rude and un called for. I wont be goinng there ever again!!

An absolute shambles the way the wellhouse is run. Takes days for them to respond to a message, in the end they just didn't respond at all. I gave up with messages and rang in to get details for a group of us for the wellhouse (which is a lot more expensive than local competitors but as it was a big birthday we thought we would treat ourselves). Relayed this information to the the group and got organised only for me to ring to book to be told that the prices that I was told the day before, are not actually correct. They only have the treatments that are 30e extra per person available. I rang emailed and Facebooked 3weeks later no response. Terrible customer service for such expensive prices.

Building, decor and lighting is absolutely beautiful!! Breakfast was very good indeed! Stayed in two bedroom room in separate building; everything beautiful and new. However... bathroom tap was a drip, and unable to get 'cold' water to brush my teeth, the duvet was down 🦆, no glasses 🥛 in the room and no shelf in bathroom. Also there was bird poo on our sheet (only noticed at bedtime) so flipped it! I would recommend... But I think the place is missing a "customer service touch", there were doors closed on entering the house and some grumpy staff. They're missing a trick...

Very nice room, extremely helpful young staff. The manor house where we had breakfast is beautiful and beautifully maintained; breakfast itself was very good. Our room was in some sort of outbuilding that involved a bit of a walk from the parking lot (car park, as they say in Ireland). We had a bit of a snafu involving cleaning the room during our stay--there were two doors to the room, and evidently we locked the wrong one, so the staff couldn't enter it. It seems that ought to have been worked out better.

Amazing hidden gem as written by another reviewer. Staff were top notch in hotel , the church and spa. Food delicious in both hotel and the church. Room was the last word. All spotlessly clean. Thank you for a memorable break. It is credit to the owners and all the staff

This place is simply outstanding. An oasis of peace, tranquility, comfort and class. Excellent staff, beautiful, luxurious decor, and wonderful food all set in a 5 star setting. Stayed for one night dinner bed and breakfast. Check the n was excellent, although we could have got more information, evening meal and breakfast outstanding and furnishings superb. A fantastic place for a restful retreat.

This place could be great. Unfortunately, it's not. There is a distinct lack of attention to detail in both the facility and the service. Although the old converted manor and the grounds are lovely, the entire atmosphere suffers from a certain tired quality that verges on drab and suggests indifference. I stayed in a suite in a new detached building with 2 of my adult daughters. It was spacious and comfortable for sure, but it is accessed via a very pedestrian and obviously "undesigned" service area. Doors stick. There was no TV on the wall in the bedroom of the suite, only the TV mount. The tea kettle, which was hard wired into the wall, did not work. I informed the front desk when we arrived, but they never brought a replacement (we stayed for 2 nights). None of that was surprising as they were even unaware I had changed my stay from 1 night to 2. I showed them the email they sent me confirming my change. The restaurant suffers from much of the same lack of attention. Service is friendly but haphazard and mostly composed of what seemed to be mildly disinterested or overly stressed college students on summer break. The restaurant is adequate (despite the scallop appetizer being brutally overcooked). Breakfast was quite good, but the same lack of attention applies. I asked for a pot of coffee and received a pot of tea. In the end, it is a pleasant place, but not up to its intentions or its price point. It needs attention and some fresh eyes in terms of both facilities, amenities (no gym? really?), and service.

An excellent hotel just outside town. The staff were excellent and the hotel was really well presented. The decor was superb . Do take the time to call in someday. Ideal for a conference as well as other events.
