Had afternoon tea. Cannot fault it one bit. Food was absolutely delicious. They asked was there any dietary requirements etc but we at everything. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Will most definitely be back. Ample parking. Beautiful scenery and the building itself is absolutely beautiful
This is a long overdue review from our wedding last July (2021). We are delighted we choose Rockhill House as our wedding venue. We had originally planned to get married in Italy in October 2020 but due to the pandemic we decided to look closer to home and we couldn't have found a better venue. Kathryn and her team were friendly and helpful from start to finish and were always accomodating and flexible. The venue itself is stunning; it's even nicer than the online photos suggests and the bedrooms in particular are beautiful. We had a humanist ceremony onsite and as the venue is so lovely with many beautifully decoarted rooms (and the gardens) we didn't need to leave for our formal photos. This gave us more time to celebrate with our friends and family. The whole day went really well and the food and wine were delicous. The function room was perfecf for a wedding with a smaller, additional private bar. There is also a separate restaurant on the the grounds which we used for an informal dinner on the second night. The house itself has 19 rooms (if memory serves) and they have added more in the adjoining coach house since. A heartfelt thanks to Kathryn an the team for taking such care of us and a particular shout out to the manager, Declan, sorted a last minute DJ (long story) as well as a couple of last minute hiccups! …
Our second visit - Stayed again in the suite with garden view, worth every penny. Service outstanding but not just professional, friendly too. Breakfast a feature - one of the best parts of a stay here. This time we tried the restaurant and I can say that it’s much like the hotel - undiscovered gem. I’ve never had better food at that price point - The chef is genuinely talented, perfect comfort food - particular recommendations are the salmon starter and the turkey dinner. We’ve booked again as a larger party for March. All in all, a perfect winter visit.
Good parking area, easy accessible The room was great but a little high on temperature Price for room and breakfast was fair The food at the wedding was great and the atmosphere in the restaurant just made the whole go to the top The facility’s on the premises church. cafe etc made it all 5 ⭐️
We first stayed in this hotel in August 2021 and returned in October 2021 because we loved it so much. We stayed in a junior suite first and then a full suite. Both rooms were stunning. House keeping was excellent. The grounds were also beautiful and my husband really loved seeing the beautiful dog. Dinner is served in The Church, a modern restaurant within the grounds. This was an interesting change from the house because it's very modern. I loved the local art in the room. The food was excellent and we enjoyed the cocktails. Breakfast was served in the house. It was so relaxing and the waiting staff were lovely. I loved the 'cake' stand of cheese, meats, fruits, yogurt and pastries. On top of that there were many cooked to order options. The reception rooms were so relaxing. We enjoyed sitting at the fire having a glass of wine whilst chatting to the staff. The staff need special mention. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel happy and comfortable. The genuine Donegal charm is so evident here and it elevates a wonderful place to something truly special. Thank you Catherine and your wonderful team. We can't wait to return, particularly when the spa is open. Laura and Paul.…
