Just returned from a five night stay at Hazelwood Lodge; such a lovely experience and would highly recommend staying here.

The owners, Victor and Geraldine, were extremely welcoming, courteous and knowledgeable of the surrounding areas.

Our bedroom was very spacious and had its own coffee machine, fridge and hair dryer. Both the bedroom and communal areas of the lodge were spotless and all Covid-19 protocols were in place, with hand sanitiser available throughout the lodge.

The breakfast served each morning was exceptional and a real treat. There was a fantastic selection of homemade breads, fresh fruits and cooked dishes. Great vegetarian options too!

Hazelwood Lodge is in a fantastic location in North Clare; perfect to explore The Cliffs of Moher, The Burren, Doolin and Fanore.

We stayed at this excellent guesthouse for 7 days.. The room was furnished and decorated to a very high standard, with a sitting room area overlooking the beautiful garden. Tea & Coffee making facilities were supplied in the room .

The owners, Geraldine and Victor implemented all Covid-19 protocols by supplying plenty of hand sanitiser throughout the house and maintaining social distancing.

Prior to our arrival we received an email from the hosts outlining the procedures that were in place regarding COVID 19, this put us at ease as we are happy to hear that such great measures were in place to ensure both our safety and that of the hosts,
The breakfast! is amazing, freshly squeezed orange juice and home made sour dough bread and brown bread made by hosts, The options for veggies and vegans are great and the produce used is all locally sourced.

Both Victor and Geraldine are very happy to assist guests with plans for their day, they are both very knowledgeable of the area and as we love to walk and explore they imparted great information on local walks and historical information for the whole of the Burren region, Victor always ready to lend a book on the region, lending me the book My Lady Judge which highlights life in the area in the 1400's.

Thank you for a very memorable pleasant stay in your wonderful guesthouse,

Michael & Carol

Needing some secure peace and relaxation after lockdown we decided to try Hazlewood Lodge in the beautiful Burren for a couple of nights. It was perfect. A worm welcome, a beautiful spacious bedroom with a most comfortable bed to relax in and a perfectly appointed bathroom with a good shower provided us with what we wanted.
The big surprise was the quality and flare of the breakfast menu. Ingredients are locally sourced and there is real pride in its quality and a deep knowledge about the local suppliers. Bread is made fresh each day in the kitchen and while we were there we sampled sourdough, focacia and brown bread.
The stay was heaven after the ardors of lockdown, and we felt perfectly safe whilst visiting. Hand sanitiser was provided throughout the premises, tables were well spaced apart to allow for distancing and the hosts were very respectful of the two metre rules. The Lodge is a great place to stay and we are already planning a return visit.

I stayed at the B&B with a friend in the twin room. The room was furnished with a super king bed and a single bed, a sofa, tv and writing desk. The room was much larger than expected and very comfortable! We were pleasantly surprised with the great quality of the room and facilities. The owners, Geraldine and Vincent were extremely kind and implemented all Covid-19 protocols by supplying plenty of hand sanitiser and common touchpoints and maintaining social distancing. The highlight of our stay was the breakfast! It was truly exceptional. It definitely outdoes many brunch restaurants in Dublin anyway! The options for veggies and vegans are great and the produce used is all locally sourced. The veggie breakfast even includes vegetables grown from the back garden - delicious! We had a really pleasant stay in a beautiful setting at the foot of the Burren.

The rooms are lovely and spacious, with everything you need, including a Nespresso machine. Spotless, with lovely furniture.

Unfortunately, the people win the next room sounded like they were renovating it throughout the night. In general, there was a lot of noise from other rooms, not necessarily intentional, but it certainly travelled, even if it was the TV or a conversation.

The breakfast was stunning. A fruit plate was a masterpiece and there was real creativity in the kitchen. Genuinely freshly squeezed fruit juices, for instance, and they used produce from the garden. Service was a little cold, but very efficient.

I'd stay again, as I like what they do, and it's clear they put their heart, soul and funds into keeping standards high.

As a family we couldn't fault Hazelwood Lodge. The hosts were great and very accommodating of our children's fussy eating. In the current pandemic I had been a bit anxious about holidays, I needn't have worried, I felt very safe in the spotless Hazelwood Lodge. Breakfasts were a special treat, ingredients locally sourced and cooked to order. Family room was large and beds very comfortable. The outside sitting area was also a great option, especially as the weather was lovely.

Had a great experience at hazelwood lodge. Stayed just one night as we were passing through the area but would happily return. Hosts were very helpful with recommendations on where to eat, nearby beaches and even offered a lift to the bus stop. It's within a short walking distance of ballyvaughan village but as the road is narrow caution would be taken if walking at night.
Rooms are very comfortable with chilled water and fresh milk in the fridge if you fancy a tea/coffee in your room.
The breakfast was the highlight for me and felt so healthy in comparison to usual hotel breakfasts. There is a huge selection of gluten free and vegetarian options even though I didn't have either dietary requirements.Bread was fresh from the oven and tasted delicious.
Would highly recommend a visit if staying in the area.

The Hazelbrook Lodge is one of the finest b&bs we have ever stayed in. The owners are friendly and welcoming and go above and beyond to help where they can. Visited with our two children. Victor and Geraldine made us welcome from the start. The premises is spotless and spacious, decor really beautiful. Comfortable rooms with all u could want....fresh milk in fridge is a nice touch. Breakfast was absolutely delicious....nicest veggie breakfast I've had in long time. Cannot recommend highly enough. We will visit again and again! Hats off to Hazelbrook...a gem!

My wife and myself booked a stay at Hazelwood Lodge over the weekend 28/29 August. It would not be an exaggeration to say that this was the best B&B we have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by our hosts Victor and Geraldine. It transpires they have both spent many years in the hospitality industry and their experience shines through. They were attentive to our needs and were always on hand for any questions we needed answered on the local area and things to do.
The rooms were spotless and the bed was as comfortable as our own. The Breakfast was simply out of this world and would have suited a main meal in a 5 star restaurant. As we were leaving I asked a fellow guest who had been at breakfast what she had thought of her stay. "Better than a 5 star Hotel" was her reply. That really sums our experience up. Many thanks.

Just had amazing nite away with friends in this fabulous b&b. The views and the setting were amazing. The accommodation is located in the the middle of the Burren which has so much to do from sight seeing to day trips to beach areas and the cliffs of moher. It’s walking distance from Ballyvaughan village which has numerous restaurants and sights of its own. The b&b itself is fabulous. This is my second stay here and I can do nothing but compliment and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a break away after this whole pandemic lock down. For me it’s like a mini hotel with a much more warmer and friendly atmosphere with great attention to detail and impecable customer service given by owners Victor and Geraldine. I can do nothing but compliment and recommend this b&b
