This is a lovely place! The rooms are spotless and very well maintained. The common areas are also lovely. The breakfast was superb restaurant style with a menu and you got to select. Victor is a warm welcoming and knowledgeable fella that lead us to great food and sights!
Hazelwood Lodge is a charming B&B accommodation set on the outskirts of the town of Ballyvaughan in a scenic rural area of the Burren in Co. Clare with easy access to many outdoor activities and visitor centres. The accommodation is 5 star hotel quality in a beautiful cosy home setting. Rooms are of highest standard and very comfortable. The proprietors are professional, kind, friendly and extremely helpful in every aspect who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I fully recommend Hazelwood Lodge and hope you enjoy your stay there.
The rooms are lovely and spacious, with everything you need, including a Nespresso machine. Spotless, with lovely furniture. Unfortunately, the people win the next room sounded like they were renovating it throughout the night. In general, there was a lot of noise from other rooms, not necessarily intentional, but it certainly travelled, even if it was the TV or a conversation. The breakfast was stunning. A fruit plate was a masterpiece and there was real creativity in the kitchen. Genuinely freshly squeezed fruit juices, for instance, and they used produce from the garden. Service was a little cold, but very efficient. I'd stay again, as I like what they do, and it's clear they put their heart, soul and funds into keeping standards high.
We had a beautiful suite and loved every minute of our stay. Plenty of space, great library, gorgeous garden, and excellent breakfasts. We highly recommend Hazelwood Lodge for Burren and Ballyvaughan traveling.
We spent 4 nights at Hazelwood Lodge for our staycation visiting the Burren/West Clare. We stayed in the Garden Suite which was a bright, spacious room with beautiful classic decor and comfy bed. The breakfast was the highlight- lovely food, locally sourced and fresh, really set us up for the day. The location of the bnb was perfect for accessing all the various places we wanted to visit- the Burren, lahinch, cliffs of mother, etc. Plenty of walking cycling and swimming options. Short walk into Ballyvaughan for dinner and drinks at night. Geraldine and Victor are lovely hosts, they know the area well and gave us good advice on local walks/cycles. We'll hopefully be back in future.
