Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We spent three nights at Hazlewood Lodge in Ballyvaughan and it was wonderful. Our room was huge and we had the best sleep we have had in ages in the most comfortable bed! breakfasts were delicious and the hospitality from Victor and Geraldine was outstanding. Hazlewood Lodge is the perfect base for everything the Burren and Ballyvaughan has to offer...we can't wait to come back here for another trip. Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome.

This b&b is absolutely fantastic. The rooms are lovely. We had a 1 year old with us and it was like home from home with lovely touches along the way. Nothing was a problem, great attention to detail, the breakfast was outstanding. I would literally go back just for the breakfast. When we are back in Clare we will definitely stay here again.

We stayed there for two nights with our two year old daughter last week. Absolutely memorable experience! We loved our stay and the welcoming attitude of the hosts, Victor and his wife. Victor was so attentive, friendly and helpful. It felt like we were not at a hotel but visiting our relatives. The breakfast was so fresh and delicious. Our room was spacious, clean and quiet. The location was perfect to visit Aran Islands and Cliffs of Moher which we could fit in one day and still got to relax for lunch and dinner. If I go back to Burren area, I would totally stay here again! Thank you to our lovely hosts for creating such amazing experience.

The stay is amazing. The food really is outstanding, with thoughtfully created dishes made with local produce and artisanal breads. We were on the road and booked late. So delighted with the stay, it’s everything you would hope for while traveling the area. And of course, the world class Irish hospitality. The rooms are very comfortable. The bathrooms have excellent water pressure. It really was lovely.

In our opinion this is one of the top 2 B&Bs in Ireland. The location is serene, good access and parking. The area is unique and spectacular. The rooms are spacious and clean. The king bed was comfortable and the bedding is of good quality. The rooms are large, some with a seating area. The owners are taking excellent care the entire property. The breakfast was the best of the 10 different locations in which we stayed. The ingredients are fresh and local and well prepared. This is a very special lodge and you would be fortunate to stay there

I am going to start this review by saying this is not the four seasons or ritz Carlton but it is in some since. The service that we received by Geraldine and her husband was Absolutley amazing. The rooms are very nice. The breakfast every morning was delicious ! I would come back here in a heartbeat .

My family of four (including 2 teen girls) stayed at Hazelwood Lodge for 2 nights during our trip through Ireland. We were thoroughly impressed with the accommodations. The family room (which had two large beds) was spacious and clean, with beautiful furnishings. There were comfortable places to sit and read throughout the house, including a little chaise next to a window in a small alcove that was quiet and private. The highlight of the stay, however, was the incredible breakfast, which included “the best waffle (my husband) ever eaten” and a huge thumbs up for the poached eggs from my picky eater daughter (big win in our book). There was a great assortment of breads (the raisin bread was a family favorite), cereals, juice, yogurt, fruit, and cheese for breakfast as well. Our hosts were very cordial and made our stay very comfortable. We highly recommend this lodging if you are in the area!
