My wife phoned and asked for the postcode. When we arrived, the owner tersely told us that we were not staying with her but instead would be staying 'across the road' in Meadowfield B & B (see review). There was no apology and absolutely no regard for our booking choice. We were surprised that the owner had not mentioned this during the phone conversation.
This was a nice enough B&B and good value. The room was clean and comfortable and the food tasty. Ballyvaughan was a pleasant village. Our guest was a little more reserved than some of the others we have experienced. Although this would not stop me staying there again
This B&B is very clean and in a beautiful location. The breakfast was very nice, and Kathleen is lovely! There are beautiful gardens too, and Kathleen seems to take great pride in her home, with the clean, friendly and efficient way she runs her B&B. I will definitely come back here and will tell all my friends and colleagues.
A warm welcome and a comfortable room and a cup of tea was just what we needed and just what we received after our drive from Galway. Kathleen couldn't have been more friendly and helpful during our stay, always ready to answer our questions, provide what we needed and enjoy a friendly chat. The accommodations were cozy and impeccably clean.Internet connection was reliable. Centrally located a few minutes from the village where we could pick up a snack at the grocery store, shop for gifts or have a pint and enjoy music at the pub. If we ever go back to that area we would definitely stay at Gentian Villa with Kathleen!
This was the last nights stay in Ireland we checked in the landlady was nice and showed us to our rooms and asked us if wanted for cooked breakfast the next morning and at what time. We had 2 double ensuite rooms which were compact but spotlessly clean. Very nice position in Ballyvaughan just a short walk to the harbour area. After a walk to explore the area we made some tea and sat in the lounge which was nice to sit and plan the next days activities. After a good nights sleep we had the Breakfast which had a good selection, The cook element was delicious the eggs we perfect and there portions were just right. If you want a good B&B in the Burren area this place we found was excellent.
This was our first stop on our trip to the west of Ireland and we were very pleased with the accommodation. Kathleen was very welcoming and interesting and the rooms were spotless and felt like home. The house is a two minute walk from shops and pubs in the small village and it was a great start to our vacation. Highly recommended.
Kathleen was warm & welcoming. The accommodation (twin room, small but very comfortable) was spotlessly clean, great location 5 min walk from pubs & reasatuants but super-quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was very tasty. Would definitely go back if in the area again.
We stayed here for three nights in April, using it as a base for the rest of Clare, Galway and the Aran Islands. Most everyone is so friendly in Ireland, but Kathleen (the owner and hostess) is one of the friendliest! She has a lovely house situated right in Ballyvaughan, convenient for both walking to shops/restaurants and driving to our other destinations. It's not the fanciest, but is very reasonably priced, clean, and comfortable. The best thing about it is Kathleen herself. My boyfriend and I are vegan, and Kathleen did her very best to accommodate our needs. She listened attentively to our explanation, was unsure about her ability to find us breakfast products, but went into a larger town to buy us exactly what we'd described (vegan sausage, bread, etc.) in order to make us a delicious breakfast. She went above and beyond! She was also very helpful with weather and laundry tips, and made us feel very much at home. Her B&B is highly recommended!…
Had a lovely time in Ballyvaughan. I was doing a cycling trip and there was a secure place to leave the bike, the breakfast was lovely and Kathleen was very friendly. It was a very relaxing stay in general and the town has greta food but if your cycling be careful of corkscrew hill on the way out of Ballyvaughan it's a difficult one.
A nice location with spacious room an tidy. The landlady was quite unfriendly and was surprised at the change of breakfast menu, which was very limited. Nice place but lacking bedside manner and friendliness. However very tidy and clean bathroom wasn't the biggest either,
