With out a doubt the best B&B I've ever experienced. Run by Gerry and Pauline who welcome all their guests like close family, Accomodation and facilities is equal to a five star hotel . The breakfast must also be the best I've had anywhere in Europe. And all at a very reasonable price.
Gerry and Pauline were A…Maze…ing. They made us feel like their best friends and even made us promise to let them know if our sons (going to uni in Ireland) ever needed help! Rooms clean WARM and well-kept and modern. Breakfast was bespoke and delicious! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend G and P’s place to anyone. All of Gerry’s recommendations for Burren walks and eateries were perfect. You won’t go wrong here.
Gerry and Pauline offer the traveller an absolutely charming guest house. Our time in Ireland included 4 stays and this lodge is a top, supreme stay. The decor is a bit offbeat, in a good sense, in that there are dozens of various colourful items placed in every available space filling the common areas and private rooms with tremendous ambience. Simply adds to the charm. Fresh flowers in season are a wonderful touch. The breakfasts were more than ample with a huge selection on offer and always well presented. The room was well appointed and spacious, providing plenty of comfort for a couple. Bed, couch and chairs all were most comfortable. A special added value was a comprehensive guideline in book form for guests as to town amenities such as bars, restaurants, shops, points of interest etc as well as sites near the lodge for tourists to visit with good accompanying notes to the points of interest. Most of all however we were impressed by the congeniality of Gerry and Pauline. That trumps everything and we wish to thank them for making our stay an absolute pleasant part of our journey. We highly recommend their guest house as a location for a vacation stay…
This is a friendly lovely family run place. My room was extra comfortable & the owners were quick to help and answer any questions. It really is a comfortable place and despite being on a road into the village it was quiet and i would know. It was an easy walk to the local pubs and restaurants. Lots of on site parking. I highly recommend.
Thank you Pauline and Gerry for making our trip so memorable and enjoyable. Your delicious breakfasts were exceptional and we were able to choose something different for the seven days we were there . Our rooms were immaculate and very comfortable with lovely welcoming touches like daily water and chocolates. Gerry and Pauline are extremely welcoming and kind and go over and beyond to ensure that all their guest’s travel needs are met . The gorgeous garden and decking area are additional bonuses . We would highly recommend this venue and would definitely make a return visit if visiting the Burren again .
Comfy room offering a good nights sleep with a top breakfast freshly created by Pauline in the kitchen and served at table by the industrious Gerry. 26 years experience under their belts and it shows (figuratively speaking!) in their charming, relaxed and helpful manner.
I stayed here recently for 2 nights and what a truly lovely experience it was from start to finish. Checking in was quick and convenient, my room looked out on the beautiful front garden and main road. The room was tastefully decorated, room and well-appointed. One of the things that was STUNNING about the whole house was the collection of superb original art work. And the bedroom was no exception - some lovely paintings on the walls. How delighted was I, also, to find outside my bedroom door, a little table with a huge collection of magazines - a lovely touch. Outside, in front of the Lodge, was a seating area with plenty of space for several people to relax and enjoy the evening sun...and read a magazine or sip a glass of something. But the piece de resistance for me was the fantastic, imaginative breakfast. Mushrooms with Blue Cheese? How divine. Fantastic brown bread, plus all the other usual treats. And all prepared and served by the owners, Gerry and Pauline. They were such good hosts....you really felt that they would do whatever they could to help you - no matter how strange your request might be. A sheer delight and I would go back in a flash - what more can I say? Thanks for a great experience.…
A group of three couples were doing a walking week in the Burren and fortunately we booked into Ballyvaughan Lodge for BnB. Pauline and Gerry's kindness, friendliness and helpfulness were second to none. Breakfasts were absolutely delicious, varied and cooked to order. There are very few places where you continue to anticipate and enjoy breakfast for seven mornings in a row! We did here. The residents' lounge was always at our disposal for nightly 'not so professional' music sessions! Great fun was had by all throughout a wet and windy week. I would highly recommend Ballyvaughan Lodge for your stay in the beautiful Burren area of Co. Clare.
Excellent accommodation provided by most genial hosts. Thoroughly recommend. The breakfast was outstanding, The rooms clean and comfortable. Would book again without hesitation. Gerry and Pauline gave good advice about restaurants for an evening meal. Ballyvaughan is a quiet, peaceful and rather charming village.
We just spent 2 lovely nights in Pauline & Gerry’s amazing Guesthouse! Rooms are lovely, spotless, comfortable & quiet. Breakfast was super! Huge choice & cooked with love & flair by Pauline. Gerry is a fountain of knowledge about local attractions & a great host! Ambiance is like home from home & we felt totally spoilt!❤️ We can’t wait to come back!
