As a large, spacious B&B Hotel in the Burren Hills, we offer great rooms and a very extensive breakfast, coupled with peace, quiet and a warm family welcome in a rural environment. We are situated right in the middle of the Burren region, which is a mountainous terrain in North Clare, famous for its flowers, rocks and scenery. The Hotel accommodation at Cappabhaile House is unique, with fantastic views of the Burren Hills. We have built on our own 12-acre site, where you can mingle amongst the cattle and take a stroll at your leisure.

My Irish-born husband and I were traveling with another couple, showing them the Ireland we love. We were especially keen for them to visit The Burren, and we booked two rooms at Cappabhaile House near Ballyvaughan. It is every bit as lovely as the pictures: a spacious, well-appointed home with traditional decor, a game room, a comfortable seating area, and a large breakfast room.

Conor and his wife Margaret are just delightful. Conor shared information and lent us a guidebook about The Burren, and at night we were pleasantly surprised with a concert of him and a friend regaling us with traditional Irish tunes. Conor's voice is poignant, brought tears to my eyes. And he takes requests!

Our room was large and comfortable, with plenty of storage, a nice sitting area with tea service and biscuits, and bucolic views from the window. We had a quiet night's sleep.

The breakfast is just exquisite. You have quite a few choices, and you're asked to submit your request the night before. A special request was easily accommodated. The breakfasts are beautifully made, my smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were generous and out of this world. My Irish husband pronounced the overnight oatmeal to be the best he's EVER had, and that's saying something! I don't know how Margaret does it, managing so many people with good humor.

Connor warned us not to try to walk to nearby Ballyvaughan for dinner: "You'll be killed" he said simply. He also advised us to make reservations for the main restaurant there, Monk's, and their seafood is really worth it!

After three weeks of travel in Ireland, Scotland and Amsterdam, we have stayed in numerous accommodations, and I can honestly say this was the best! And amazingly, reasonably priced! I we ever return, we will definitely stay here again.

Cappabhaile House is a lovely representation of real Irish hospitality. The rooms are sizeable, the location outside of the town of Ballyvaughan is peaceful, quiet, and I sleep better there than I even do at home.
Conor and Margaret's hospitality is unequaled, as is Margaret's porridge and the lovely breakfast that arrives from the kitchen with a smile and a welcome each and every morning. Conor is an expert on the local area and offers suggestions, annotated maps, and other tidbits of guidance for those looking to explore.
I invited friends to join me during my stay and they commented on the lovely local wildlife photography on the walls of rooms and corridors, and the friendly and efficient staff.
Finding a place that is close to amenities and also delivers deep peace and quiet is a gem. Cappabhaile House is such a treasure.
I would highly recommend this B&B to everyone I know!

Really wonderful B&B run by lovely people who genuinely care that their guests have a nice stay. They were very accommodating during our stay (hypoallergenic bedding, tweaks to the breakfast). The B&B has a beautiful Burren view, delicious breakfast, a spacious room with a comfy bed and such a warm, welcoming vibe. I would love to stay here again! Thanks for such a nice stay Connor & co.

Lovingly run B&B, a great starting point for many excursion destinations. Uncomplicated communication, quick check-in and check-out. Very clean, very comfortable beds, large rooms, all in a quiet location. We had a large family room with a double bed and two single beds. You can't hear anything at all at night. A kettle, daily replenished selection of tea & coffee and biscuits in the room. The breakfast menu is varied, incredibly delicious and sufficient, the Earl Grey tea is terrific, the portions generous - so that it kept us full until the afternoon. We stayed there for a few days, ordered everything from the menu, everything was excellent, the Irish salmon with scrambled eggs was extremely good, but the omelette, the huge fruit plate and the Irish breakfast were also uniquely delicious. Conor and his "team" are very warm and friendly hosts, we had by far the best stay in Ireland at the Cappabhaile House and will

My wife and I stayed there for one night and I have to say I could not fault the place.
Was met on arrival by Conor whom I found to be very friendly.
The place is immaculately clean throughout. The room we stayed in was spacious, airy, and tea/coffee making facilities on hand.
Lovely view from room and we had a choice of having the heat on or off. Plenty of hot water in the bathroom.
Breakfast was equally as good with plenty of choice, tea was perfect.
This B&B is in a beautiful, quiet location just a short distance from Ballyvaughan, it's peaceful and scenic and whenever we visit Clare again it will definitely be top of the list of our places to stay.

This cute B&B is located a few minutes from the charming town of Ballyvaughan. It's in the countryside so very peaceful and relaxed. Rooms were large and well-appointed.

We particularly appreciated the help from the owner, who gave us tips about local sights to check out. In fact, he recommended two places we had not considered visiting that were well worth seeing: Corcomroe Abbey, a gorgeous 13th-century ruined monastery we were able to tour with no other visitors, and the mystical Poulnabrone Dolmen, which dates back to 4200 BC.

The owner also suggested we go to the nearby Fountain Bar in Ballyvaughan for some lively trad sessions, which was wonderful. No problem bringing our teenagers in.

Breakfast was fantastic, especially the wonderful bread and butter - how is it just so delicious in Ireland?

I have stayed with Conor and Margaret many times over the years, and Cappabhaile House never gets old. The welcoming hosts, elegant room, delicious food, and attention to detail have been consistently excellent over the 20+ years I've been staying there. The location is fantastic - just outside the village with most rooms overlooking a lovely limestone mountain and a castle :) Thank you!

Cappabhaile House is a really nice bread and breakfast. It's more like a small hotel – I think there are eight rooms in total.

It is located just outside the small pretty town of Ballyvaughan – less than 5 minutes' away from the town by car. The location is beautiful – very quiet with lovely views over the Burren landscape on all sides.

Spacious room (we were three adults, my husband and I and our 20-year old daughter). We had room 2 which is a large family room. Very comfortable.

Fresh supply of coffee/tea facilities in the room every day.

We made great use of the pool table every evening.

Very good breakfast – lots of options and very filling!

Cappabhaile House is in very comfortable driving distance from the Burren National Park, Cliffs of Moher, Aillwee Cave, Poulnabrone Dolmen, etc.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I warmly recommend it!

We have stayed with Margaret and Conor three times and each visit was comfortable and as hosts Conor and Margaret are very gracious, informative and go out of their way to make your stay a pleasant one.
Located next to the Burren, close to local attractions yet the B&B is so quiet and in a beautiful setting.
We will definitely stay on our next trip!

We loved this B&B. The rooms were lovely, beds comfortable, pretty views of cows and grassy meadows, service fantastic, and there was a bathtub. The owners are very helpful. Conor has so much information on the area. We had many adventures and went to places I would not have known about because of him. His wife, Margaret, and her staff provide the most wonderful breakfasts which are served with such kindness, care, and humor. My son and I were traveling in Ireland for a month as I was considering relocating there. We came back to this B&B for three stays as was the best part of our trip. The area is so beautiful. We took a ferry to an island where we rented bikes for a day, explored churches and ruins, went to the Cliffs of Moher...where Conor told us how to park and walk away from the crowd that goes there. He sent us to a house with an amazing garden that people come to see from around the world. I wouldn't have known about it if he hadn't told me. I can't imagine not having a lovely time here.
