Title to the review may seem strange but it is the answer I would give about "Why is it the best place to stay in Ballyvaughan". Stayed with teen son and it was excellent. I initially thought Alex / Karla were family members such was the chattering and banter between them and Conor but they were recently joined staff members. It gives you a good idea of what it was like. Place was clean from driving in, always a good sign and got a warm welcome, it stayed like that until we left. I feel I would be just repeating what a lot of other people would be saying because it really is a great place to stay.
Cappabhaile House is a really nice bread and breakfast. It's more like a small hotel – I think there are eight rooms in total. It is located just outside the small pretty town of Ballyvaughan – less than 5 minutes' away from the town by car. The location is beautiful – very quiet with lovely views over the Burren landscape on all sides. Spacious room (we were three adults, my husband and I and our 20-year old daughter). We had room 2 which is a large family room. Very comfortable. Fresh supply of coffee/tea facilities in the room every day. We made great use of the pool table every evening. Very good breakfast – lots of options and very filling! Cappabhaile House is in very comfortable driving distance from the Burren National Park, Cliffs of Moher, Aillwee Cave, Poulnabrone Dolmen, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I warmly recommend it!…
This is a MUST stay!! My 10-year-old daughter and I spent 10 days traveling around Ireland, staying at 5 different B&B’s and Cappabhaile House was our absolute favorite! We stayed 3-nights in the Superior Twin (2 double beds) room which was very spacious, clean and included a table, couch and chairs so we could enjoy our afternoon tea and lounge. The large windows also provided great views. The morning breakfast was probably the best I’ve ever had. The breakfast was served with generous portions and tasted delicious. This was my first-time eating porridge, and it was a treat, I loved it! Connor and Margaret were incredible hosts, going above and beyond to ensure that your every need is met. In addition, they were very friendly and personable, we enjoyed our many conversations including learning the history of the surrounding area and recommendations on places to visit. We only had a few days to explore the Burren and County Clare and we made the most of it. There is truly so much to see and do! I highly recommend staying at Cappabhaile House, it is simply the best! Stayed at Cappabhaile House in late August while visiting the Burren. I booked at short notice but our hosts Conor and his wife could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Everything about this B&B is top class and excellent quality. Comfortable rooms, nice social space to sit and have a drink after coming in at night. The breakfast was also top quality. I would have no hesitation in recommending a stay at Cappabhaile House and will certainly go back the next time I'm visiting the Burren area.
"Staycation", short break in County Clare, booked into Cappabhaile House B and B just 2 mins drive from Ballyvaughan, North Clare. Perfect spot to call home while touring Clare. The accommodation was top class. Large, well furnished, rooms. Clean, comfortable and cosy. Breakfast was amazing, well presented, well served. No complaints whatsoever. well worth booking if you intend to tour the south west. Oh, there is one thing. I was there with family and my brother fancies himself as a snooker player, yes there was a pool table there, in a nice room where you could play pool or cards or board games, all supplied and very comfortable, but my brother did whinge every time that I beat him due to the condition of the snooker balls... not a major complaint but next time we book in, he might beat me if they get a new set of snooker balls.... all in all, fantastic place and well worth a visit.…
