My husband and I stayed here for one night at the last weekend of August for his birthday. The castle is exactly how I would want my future home to look like! I booked a "standard room" but there was nothing standard about it! It was beautifully decorated, spacious, and the en-suite was modern and heated. Exceptional food and service,...

You have to stay in Gregans at least once in your life. Right in the heart of the Burren, with a view over Galway Bay, and halfway up Corkscrew Hill itself - it doesn't get more authentic than this. It's a great starting point from which to explore Clare on foot, by bike or by car. The decor is gorgeous...

We enjoyed our one-night stay in this lovely hotel. Breakfast and dinner were amazing. I can understand why this is an award-winning hotel and restaurant. My son and I are gluten free due to health reasons. The kitchen and serving staff were knowledgeable and accommodating. Our rooms were comfortable with all amenities you expect in a luxury hotel. The view...

Absolutely wonderful hotel in a fabulous location. Stayed here for 2 nights full board. What a fabulous experience, this must one of the top hotels in Ireland. The food sensational, the services second to none, the rooms very very comfortable. We would recommend this hotel to most discerning tourists.

In August, we had the pleasure of having a joint celebration of our Ruby Wedding with dear friends, and we were delighted by our choice of Gregans Castle for this landmark in our lives. The setting at the foot of Corkscrew Hill in the Burren is just off a busy tourist route, but that doesn't impinge on its sense of...

We spent the weekend at Gregan's Castle Hotel and it lived up to all expectations. Nestled at the bottom of Corkscrew hill, near Ballyvaughan villiage, Gregen's is a relaxing retreat to get away from it all. The views of the countryside and the bay beyond are breathtaking. We had the 7 course tasting menu for dinner on Saturday night, a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
With breathtaking views across Galway Bay and idyllically situated overlooking the unique Burren landscape, this is the ultimate luxury and gourmet hideaway. Simon and Frederieke together with their staff manage this oasis of comfort and offer genuine Irish hospitality, award winning innovative cooking and elegant bedrooms free from the intrusion of televisions. Antiques, an eclectic art collection, open fires, candles, jugs of flowers and Shelley the cat add to the indulgently relaxing atmosphere. The hotel while strictly not a "castle" in the usual sense of the word has been named "Gregans Castle" since it was built in 1750 as a more comfortable residence for the O'Loughlen and Martyn families from the nearby 16th century towerhouse. Located on the Wild Atlantic Way and the Burren Food Trail. The ideal location from which to enjoy the Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Walking, Cycling, the Aran Islands, Horse Riding, Surfing, Sea Angling, Golf. Members of The Burren Ecotourism Network.
