I was very disappointed with my recent stay here. The breakfast was average, cereals and yoghurts from Lidl or Aldi. Dinner menu was poor. The staff were foreign nationals without sufficient English to engage with guests and the owner Paul didn’t make any effort to engage with guests. Not what one expects in an Irish owned hotel. I had really been looking forward to my stay as I love the area around Ballyvaughan but I certainly won’t be staying in The Wild Atlantic Lodge again.
We spent a month travelling all 5 countries in the British Isles, and this place has the distinction of having the most comfortable bed! This incredible gem of a hotel is small, but contemporary with an elevator! and it had parking! The rooms were neat as a pin, and did I mention the bed? The hotel has a cozy bar but there was no restaurant service when we were there. No problem, plently of excelent alternatives within a block or 2. A truly delightful place, and I would stay threre again in a heart beat.
When you have partied all night in magical Lisdoonvarna, your thoughts turn to breakfast as you negotiate Corkscrew hill. My hopes were slim of finding a restaurant open early Sunday morning coming down. And then I found Wild Atlantic Lodge on main Street Ballyvaughan. The two kind friendly ladies in charge took a chance on this travel weary pilgrim , even though breakfast was for guests only. Thank you Ladies. It was one pleasure after another in the relaxing, friendly, cosy home from home ambience. The cold buffet was extensive and varied, the coffee top class, and the Irish breakfast superb. Irish Breakfast is all in the cooking and great skill is required to produce a repast worthy of that title. Wild Atlantic Lodge has the skill mastered to an exceptional degree. Never in the history of Irish Breakfasts has so many great tastes combined for the pleasure of just one! I hope all who travel in the Clare region will seek and find this culinary gem, and enjoy the pleasures of good food, served properly.…
Stayed in this unassuming hotel and were treated like royalty. Staff were kind, helpful and friendly. Very warm Irish welcome. Room was very comfortable and spacious and cleanliness was second to none. Would highly recommend this hidden gem and look forward to staying here again.
Ballyvaughan is a wonderful village, and the Wild Atlantic Lodge is a quality place to stay at. Rooms and facilities are really good, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Would have been a five star rating if the evening meal had been up to the same high standard. The menu choice was limited, and the fish & chips that I selected for my meal had the smallest size fish portion that I had throughout my stay in Ireland. What a pity
This is a hidden gem fabulous rooms, staff, bar area and restaurant Breakfast is excellent Great value for money Staff are warm and welcoming The cleanliness of t(e place is top class Well worth a visit
My family of four thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Ballyvaughn was a charming village and a perfect jumping off spot for our adventures in County Clare. We struck up conversations with locals at The Snug pub (adjoining the hotel) and appreciated the proximity to a nearby cafe and small grocery store. The best part of our time here: Oliver, our taxi driver!
This was a lovely hotel. It was a very nice location, the room was clean, cozy, and comfortable with a nice shower, and they had a very tasty breakfast. They also had friendly and helpful staff. I enjoyed my stay and was sorry it was only one night.
Clean, well run, friendly and good food in the restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for a week here. Great jumping off point for western Ireland day trips. The staff was extremely helpful and happy to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
Just spent the night here with my husband and had a wonderful stay. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Rooms were spotleas and very quiet. Ate their for dinner and breakfast and couldnt fault either. Scampi was especially good. Wonderful to have resturant and snug bar on site. Lovely place all round
