Oranmore Lodge Hotel offers a cozy and personal atmosphere, highlighted by its well-decorated spaces, that many guests appreciate. However, the experiences with room quality are inconsistent; despite some travelers enjoying the spaciousness and cleanliness, others express concerns over maintenance and dated features. While the hotel's amenities, including a nice pool and leisure center, are generally well-received, a few guests suggest they require modernization.
Service encounters vary, with reports of both commendable staff and instances of dissatisfaction. Guests are divided on the hotel's value, with some finding the pricing fair and others questioning the standards relative to the cost.

We chose this hotel based on the reviews but we sadly found that aspects of the stay did not meet expectations. We booked during the expensive Galway Racing Festival so so expected to pay more, but we did not feel we had a 4* experience.
The hotel is in a great location. It is a short 10 minute walk to the little shopping centre and the bus stop to Galway. A further 5 mins or so and you are in Oranmore with it's pubs and restaurants. (Porterhouse is good.) We liked that the hotel was quiet and had a rural feel. There is ample parking and the reception areas look nice. However the rooms we had were a bit gloomy and dark. We had no net curtains or blinds and we were on the ground floor overlooking the carpark. This meant we had to close the big curtains for privacy when dressing etc. The windows also only opened a crack, making the room stuffy.
Take your own toiletries because they only have those big bottles (one of liquid soap and of shampoo/shower gel) that everyone who has been in the room has used and that are of questionable quality. So no hotel 'niceties' in the bathroom! That was a bit of a surprise and this is not a Travelodge. No niceties for the tea/coffee tray either. Just T bags, horrid coffee sachets and a spit of milk. In a 4* I expect a better beverage tray with a biscuit or two. They do leave 2 bottles of water in the room on arrival which is good.
Breakfast was ok. Nice cooked Irish breakfast, juices, toast, fruit etc. Not spectacular but not bad. You are supposed to book a time for breakfast, which no one told us about at check in. But why do we need to book? We are out of covid restrictions and we are on holiday...!! I don't want a timetable on holiday!
The hotel has a restaurant which we didn't use, and a swimming pool and gym. The bar stays open late and is a nice place to end the evening. They had music on one of the nights that we were there.
There is a big outdoor terrace with plenty of seating, which could be so nice. It is rather neglected though. There is a parasol with tangled up, obviously useless fairy lights and the tables never seemed to be cleared of their overflowing ashtrays and empty glasses. With a bit of care and some lights this could be such a lovely spot.
I would consider staying here again for the location alone, but I can't say that it is the warmest, most welcoming and friendly hotel I've been in and the facilities need some thought and care.

My daughter and I stayed here for one night and thought it was very pleasant. The room was a good size with an en-suite bath with shower over it. Staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. We ate dinner in the bar which was included in our room price and the breakfast was very tasty too. We didn't go in the pool area as we felt we would be on view to others staying in the hotel as the pool is visible from the car park and bedrooms and we felt we could be watched from outside. Maybe next time we shall give it a go!

Being a past travel consultant I decided to take my husband for 3 nights BB+D for his birthday to the Oranmore, on arrival the hotel I thought looked beautiful full of character + charm with its long driveway and beautiful exterior hotel building, once inside the reception area looked very inviting, there was a mix up with the receptionist on the room we were allocated which was to be a suite, but once that was sorted we were given our keys to the willow suite, inside was a massive king sized bed but given the size of the bedroom the bathroom was very small, there was a lot of pros and cons to this room which I will list, but the bed was the most comfortable bed I have slept in. There was a problem on the first night with the heating and the manager gave us a heater and said the heating would be sorted in the morning by maintenance, that never happened and it was never sorted for the 3 nights we had stayed there.
Our suite was above a room for party's and on the first night the noise went on till about 1 am so I found it hard to sleep, having said that the next 2 nights it was quite.
The food however was outstanding and very nice staff both at breakfast and Dinner.
A bus stop is about a 5/10 min walk from the hotel which takes you into the centre of Galway and costs 2.30euros
The pool was small but fine to swim in. I had a massage which I have to say was very sore despite me saying to the girl that I had a lot of problems, I was very sore for about a week after it, never again will I have a massage which was also a complete waste of money.
The Hotel Pros and Cons
PRO'S Bed was very comfortable Food was excellent outstanding quality Lovely fireplace and electric fire in room added feature 3 seater sofa and chair fridge in room tea/coffee kettle Staff very nice
CON'S No complimentary water in a suite No walk in shower, suites big enough to add a shower No magnify mirror Black Stains on the carpet Shower curtain over bath very dangerous as it wraps round you, (should be replaced with screen) Mirror in bedroom to high when you sit on the chair you cant see into it. No bathrobe + slippers No complementary biscuits in bedroom Windows look into the gym so you need to make sure you close the curtains for privacy which is then dark and you need to put the lights on (louvre blinds would help)
There is a lot that could be added to the bedrooms especially the suites, we did though enjoy our stay and would return.
I am hoping Management will look at this review and take on board the little extras that could be added to make this hotel very appealing to anyone wanting to stay here, and also to a travel consultant to sell this hotel for you.

First of all the cost of the room at €215.10 per night without breakfast via Booking.com was expensive so we expected all to be right. However this was far from the case as following check in we were directed to our room which was situated down a flight of stairs carrying our luggage without the offer of any assistance. When we got to our room there was a smell therein which was not pleasant and when we turned on the water from the sink it gushed out over the sink onto our clothes and the floor. However as we were attending a function we got ready , left our room and left a window open to get rid of the smell. When we returned we went to bed still having to leave the window open which contributed to a cold breeze blowing into the room. Later that morning we took showers via standing into a bath. The water in the bath ponded and did not flow downwards leaving us in water covering our ankles. We later checked out and reported the problems to reception and a duty manager advising him to check the room before selling it to other customers. He appeared to be totally unconcerned by our plight stating that the room had been checked. All and all this was a wholly unsatisfactory experience and we will not be returning.

I'd read the reviews, many of which complained that the property is dated. It is, and in a good way. It is a heritage property but relevant portions are modernized. Rooms are very comfortable and the water pressure in the shower is like a jet. The common areas reflect the history of the building as a hunting lodge. Food was good but a bit overpriced. Drinks selection was very good. Fitness centre is top-notch. Highly recommended.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Oranmore Lodge Hotel on two separate occasions. First, for 3 nights at the very end of October. Second, a week later. The hotel is located on Station Road, an easy walk to the bus stop, which gets you into Galway in roughly 10 minutes.
The hotel is multiple buildings. I didn't enjoy the health centre, but it looked very nice. The interiors are superbly decorated with beautiful finishes, furniture, greenery, and artwork.
The staff is very welcoming. I brought the wrong adaptor for electrics, and the front desk happily lent me one until I could purchase one of my own. The Tesco is an easy walk for last minute supplies.
The first room I stayed in was quiet and had a nice greenery view. The second room was a suite, and felt quite luxurious with a king-sized bed, fireplace, high ceilings, nice bathroom and refrigerator.
It was very relaxing and welcoming staying at the Oranmore Lodge Hotel. The front desk staff is friendly. The restaurant and bar staff are accommodating and congenial. Highly recommend staying at the Oranmore Lodge Hotel if you are exploring Galway and Connemara, or if you just want a few days away. Oranmore village is also delightful. Thank you!

3 night family stay, very satisfied could not fault the hotel or staff from housekeeping to breakfast service all very helpful and obliging always willing to help and were all very polite. Kids used the pool every day and the pool attendent was also nice and helpful to where she invited them to a Halloween movie night which they enjoyed very much. Breakfast was very organised and a great selection of food that was top quality. Waiting staff always at hand for that pot of fresh tea when required...also service with a smile. Dinner menu plenty of choice and priced reasonable. Plenty of free car parking good location and shops are plenty nearby. Well done to all at hotel, most certainly would return if I was in the area again. Thank you for making our stay a good one.

Out of our entire Ireland stay, this hotel was our lowest point. For a labeled “4 star” hotel, it felt very sub par. The front desk staff that checked us in was rude. The room was poor (Lack of paint, exposed pipes, a shower that got water over the entire bathroom). It was overcrowded with parties making it very loud. And the parking lot was an actual nightmare. We had to sit in our car for 15 minutes just to fight for a spot. To top it off when we checked out they gave us “additional charges because you weren’t billed right for the room on check-in”. I will say the food was very good, especially the afternoon tea. This hotel just falls short on the hospitality and quality we experienced in other areas. If it was a 2 or 3 star hotel it would have been adequate because this hotel was nothing more than mediocre.

We arrived at the hotel, got our key and went to the room. Our mobile service was turned off because we didn’t need it. We had WiFi at all of our hotels. As soon as we entered the room the WiFi ceased. We went to the lobby and checked with the desk. They said that they would notify the provider and the equipment could be reset remotely. We told them that was our only way of communicating with the US. After several times of asking about the service (30 hours later) we asked for a new room. They clearly could not fix the WiFi and had no intention of telling us. We use the WiFi to plan our day, read online newspapers at night and while having coffee and reading e-mail. This was not important to the staff. They did give us a new room after I asked them to pay to have our mobile phone coverage international plan turned on.

Dear VerbBatonRouge It is a little dossapointing that you ave chosen to share only part of the information. Our reception team had several communications with you. Your inference that they were unhelpful is not a true reflection on the circumstances. The WiFi signal and reception as confirmed by the WiFi provider was not the issue. This was even acknowledged to you by them in email form. It is always dissapointing that a guests customer service experience is not to their satisfaction, for this I must apologise that on this occasion we failed to deliver to your satisfaction.

Personally I don't like carpets and I would like to have air conditioning in my hotel room in the summer. The ceiling light in the room had burned out and was not replaced despite our request, so the room was quite dark. The small fridge in the room was a plus.
Breakfast was an insane mess. The waiters didn't know where our group's breakfast would be served, the hot food was prepared very slowly and there was always something running out of the buffet table. We had announced in advance about the meat-free diets and again on the spot. Still, we were served a plate with an egg, half a tomato, sausage and half-fried bacon. When we asked the waiter if we could have the plate without meats, we were told that it was not possible. You either had to take everything and throw the meats in the garbage or be completely without warm food, which we had paid for. Hotel couldn't improve things although we gave them feedback.
