The exterior of the hotel was rather eye catching, reception was clean and welcoming although we waited at least 10 minutes to check in while one girl was checking visitors another girl was entertaining two staff members leaning over the counter!!!!!!! The room we got was dated, stains on the carpet, splatters on the side of the fridge unit not very appealing and the bathroom was similar but clean. We went to the pool ( it’s adequate for the hotel) the leisure attendant was a delight couldn’t be nicer. We ate dinner which was lovely and service was fantastic but we got wine and the glasses were walking with finger prints and scuff marks ( basis requirements neglected) we checked out we didn’t get as much as did you enjoy your stay ? Was everything okay? Thank you… nothing!!!talk about crap service

Had Sunday dinner here. Food filled a gap,a bit overpriced but Sundays usually are. The biggest problem here are the staff. 5 staff I counted and I'd say none had ever worked in hospitality before. Most of them seemed school/college age so maybe their interests lay elsewhere. We ordered starters and main courses. The food arrived well presented but it all arrived together!!!! The chef must be partly to blame for this because he/she obviously plated it up in one go. My daughters soup arrived halfway through her main course....They have obviously had no training and the owner has a lot to answer for there. The function room reminded me of a canteen,no atmosphere at all. This used to be the hub of the village but no amount of refurbishment will bring us back there. Such a pity....

Take away the leisure facilities and this hotel barely warrants 3 stars. We checked in early which was appreciated. We were allocated a standard room on the lower ground floor. The carpet in the corridor was dirty and a filthy desk chair sat at the bottom of the stairs for our stay (2 nights). Room 5 was very disappointing - drab and unwelcoming; no soft furnishings to brighten it up. The furniture was extremely outdated - think house clearance. Everything was shabby and devoid of character. The bathroom was totally outdated - a rusty shower rail with a thin nylon shower curtain, one of the bath grips missing. Sachets of coffee were of the cheapest variety (not even Nescafé). There was no bottled water (the only place that didn’t offer it during our trip), no safe, no guest information in the room (not even how to call reception in an emergency). We couldn’t have contacted reception anyway as the phone didn’t work (we did report it) and the TV didn’t work initially. The bathroom was not cleaned on day 2 but the towels were folded. The bedside tables were not wiped and dirty cups were left on the side. Breakfast was OK, the hot offerings were actually of a good standard but it was served in an anonymous function room. Aga was the only member of staff we came into contact with who showed professionalism and care; the rest of the staff, including the manager, appeared totally disinterested. There is work going on in the hotel but this is no excuse for the poor quality rooms.

We were so fortunate to stay the night in a suite. It was absolutely massive! Huge space, king sized bed, mini fridge, the works! The breakfasts were delicious and the food from the bar was fantastic (we never quite made it to the restaurant). The grounds themselves were gorgeous and the staff very friendly and helpful. It was in a great location, right next to the local bus into Galway town. Next time we'll definitely be staying here for longer!

Very pleasant and welcoming staff, comfortable spacious rooms and comfortable bar serving decent food.Leisure centre is a little small. Good breakfast options and the breakfast room is airy and bright. Easy parking and check in. Overall would recommend this hotel.

Very glad we chose this hotel as it’s been just perfect for what we need. Close to Galway but in a nice quiet area, no rowdiness or loud roads. The hotel has so much character as well. Nice, clean rooms and lovely breakfast. Great pool also which is a bonus. Would definitely stay again.

Visited as a couple with friends for a wedding celebration. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, whether it was providing cheese at an ungodly hour or learning to make a cocktail for my hungover self. Staff were polite, friendly and cheerful despite seemingly working very long hours over the wedding. Decent value for money and a great time was had by all. Thank you!

We had a really enjoyable 3 night weekday stay in the Oranmore Lodge. The hotel is really welcoming. It’s a old style hotel but not outdated. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. Our kids loved the pool. We had dinner in the hotel each evening for convenience and it was excellent. Breakfast was quality too. Staff are polite, friendly and helpful. Cost of rooms made the hotel more attractive and encouraged us to eat there each evening rather than traveling into Galway with the kids. Overall we had a lovely time there , the kids enjoyed it and we would definitely return based on this experience.

We spent two nights at this hotel, 2 adults & 2 children in room 3. Absolutely no complaints which is pretty miraculous when you’re trying to keep kids aged 9 & 13 happy. The room was very clean & very comfortable. The staff we met throughout our stay were lovely. We had breakfast both mornings, the pancakes were a big hit with the kids. We had dinner in the bar on the night we arrived. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. We used the pool & the kids had a ball. We didn’t have swimming caps or goggles with us. The staff were very helpful & supplied us with those as well as having towels ready. We had a wonderful weekend & thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We visited today (Sunday) for a family meal. A really lovely young girl with dark hair served us in the bar, she was kind and friendly, when we asked for crayons and a pic to colour in for our little one she went away and As far as I could make out printed off a pic for him to colour in. She gave us table settings, a knife and fork and two knifes in error. She served us our drinks first thing. I had a tea. When the mains came out I just asked another lady working there (more senior with short blonde hair) if we could have a fork and some drinks (as I wanted miwadi for little one and cold drink with my dinner) I only wanted to order them then. I watched as she went back to the bar where she proceeded to speak to the younger girl as if she was a piece of you know what. She said “there are no table settings on table 12 or no drinks…how long are you here now!” She was not correct first of all because we only were ready to order the cold drinks now. Anyone with a toddler knows to keep a drink off the table as long as possible and she gave a knife instead of a fork. BIG DEAL. No one deserves to be spoken to like that, in front of everyone too. It’s humiliating and she did nothing wrong. Please let that member of staff know that it’s not ok and not warranted. The girl did a fantastic job. Abuse of seniority and authority is not cool and certainly not what a customer would want to see their staff being treated like
