Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The room is very comfortable. The breakfast has very good choices. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The parking is behind the house. There is easy access to local areas of interest from the house.

Our room had a double and a single bed,we felt it should have had just the double bed as space was so very tight between beds and hardly any floor space.there was also no flat surfaces to put stuff ,toiletries etc, the only flat area being the windowsill, even in the very small bathroom there was no shelf, very cramped. We also were unaware until checkout we had to pay cash in full. The owner was a really good host ,very helpful and served up a good breakfast.

We loved our stay at Shanlin House. The room was tidy and well cared for, and the beds were comfortable. Seamus, the owner, was charming and served a delicious traditional Irish breakfast. The location was perfect, it's a short walk to the local pubs and restaurants in Oranmore, and about a 15-20 minute drive from Galway itself. If you're looking for a peaceful stay and a taste of lovely Irish hospitality, you'll find it here! P.S. This accommodation is cash only, so make sure you're prepared and have cash on hand!

This was a lovely, quiet B&B outside of Galway. Amenities were a little sketchy (soap, shampoo), but the breakfast and room were lovely. There were three of us and there was plenty of room. Enjoyed having an open window for fresh air in the evening and morning. Private onsite parking is always a great addition. Remember it's cash only!

We stayed at the Shalin House for one night in Oranmore for our one night in Galway. We arrived very late but they were very accommodating and thd gave us great directions to find places to eat in Galway at that late hour. The place is clean and tidy and very comfortable. We were happy to have private bathrooms and showers in our rooms. Shamus was all you can ask for in an Irish B & B in the morning. The food was great and his little anecdotes while serving gave us a traditional Irish countryside experience. The only ask would have been earlier notification that check out was cash only. Other than that it was a very good experience.

What a wonderful stay! Shamus could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts were exceptional -- the full Irish is a veritable feast! Lovely home and beautiful area where we toured the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren. Hope to make it back one day!

We planned to be in Galway at the weekend and it can be quite expensive and noisy so Oranmore was an excellent alternative. This is a low cost establishment but that is what you get. The room was small and the toilet/shower was a very tight fit The only soap was a hand liquid soap. Bed was comfortable enough. Really needs a little bit of money spent on it.There is off street parking and it is only a 10 minute walk into the village where there is a very good Indian and couple of nice pubs.

The owners are very friendly making you feel welcome & the home/grounds are well maintained. It's a "basic" room with a small bathroom but has everything you need with a short walk to town. They had a great selection for breakfast(I'm a vegan & they were very accommodating) . I travel with an ice pack for my back, the room didn't have a fridge(we were OK with that) so the owner's offered to put the ice pack in their fridge downstairs, a nice gesture that really helped me :)
