My 94-year-old mother and I spent two delightful days at Abbey Lodge. The room and all were clean and cozy and the views were splendid as the sky changed every 5 minutes. It's convenient to the town center--just a few minutes' walk. Breakfast was simple and wholesome. The sitting room and its comfy chairs and sofa provide a respite when...

Abbey Lodge was our favorite place to stay in Ireland - wonderful views of the water and mountains and it came with an energetic B&B operator, Hugh Maloney, whose company we enjoyed plus he took excellent care of us. The Corner House Pub is the place to go to hear Irish music and Hugh's lovely young daughter sometimes sings there....

Ardara the Beautiful is now how we refer to this lovely lovely best kept secret. We had originally planned on only 1 night but ended up staying two. Of everything I can say in praise of our visit the best part was Hugh, our host. Warm and welcoming he truly meant what he said, "Make yourself at home" We did....if...

We chose to have continental breakfast so we could have a lie in, had a variety of cereals, fruit, etc , just help yourself, if it wasn't there, no problem getting it . The place is very...

convenient walk to the town, gorgeous view from the sitting rooms. warm hospitality from the owner, Hugh. we don't eat much breakfast, we skipped the full Irish breakfast which would have been 5euros extra/pp. but had the continental breakfast instead, several kinds of fruit, yogurt, cereal, plus toast, juice, coffee/tea. no TV in the bedroom, but we did not miss...

We stayed 2 nights at the Abbey Lodge, and were very pleased. The views out of the sitting rooms and our room were lovely, both in sunshine and in rain. It was also a real treat to have wireless internet access. The lodge was less crowded since we were there midweek, so our stay was extremely quiet and relaxing. The...

Hugh Maloney, the innkeeper, helped us in every way imaginable! Rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable, quiet, and well appointed. Grounds are beautifully landscaped. The view of the waterways and cliffs is beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Coffee was perfect; breakfast fantastic.
