Beautiful old world property with the beach on the doorstep. We were greeted by Mary on arrival. She wasn’t very friendly (Anxious about Covid we reasoned )but this was made up in spades with staff across the restaurant and bar. We booked a superior room with big French doors that opened onto the lush garden and we sat there. It was so peaceful, no noisy guests coming back at night. The food is just divine all homemade / from walled garden. We loved waking up early for a beach walk and the sun shone too! Overall, for €800 for 2 nights it is expensive. That’s 2 dinners and drinks in bar plus service charge. No spa but that is something they could add as the place is just so serene
Had a fantastic stay and experience in Rathmullan House. The food is excellent and the lounge rooms within the house are perfect for a quiet drink or snack in a beautiful setting. The beach is a two minute walk from the door also. The rooms are lovely with huge bathrooms. A place that surpasses many 5 star locations around the country. We will be back.
With two friends I was fortunate to be able to spend the past 4days in Rathmullan House. First, the measures taken for prevention of spread of Covid 19 helped us relax and feel secure. Next, the comfort! Apart from a little kerfuffle when we arrived about the accommodation we had booked( speedily settled by Lynsey, competent receptionist), all flowed smoothly. The room was ground floor which suited mobility needs. Although because of restrictions tea/coffee trays were not available in room on arrival, they were readily available when requested. This was not our first time to stay in Rathmullan house so we knew that dinner would be good! Wholesome and tasty and it was. Kathleen and Grainne presided over a caring and efficient staff who ministered to all our needs.......much gratitude especially to dining room staff.…
Booked for 3 nights b & b and dinners. Booked a superior room which was worth the extra. A very comfortable king sized bed and 3 good nights sleep, it probably helped that we had our own firm pillows as the ones supplied were a bit soft for our liking. A gas fire and 2 armchairs meant we were able to relax in the evening. There was a separate dressing area and a fine sized bathroom with stand alone bath and also separate shower area. The meals on the 3 evenings were very good, between us we had lobster, local lamb, john dory and duck. All top quality. Service in the hotel was top notch with good covid regulations in place, though i did notice that the barmen and some reception staff did not wear masks which was a bit discomforting. I will certainly return in the future.
Outdoor setting..squid starter...fungi pizza and green salad..a great dry cider and served up by staff who were friendly/efficient nice people..will be back in October and look forward to revisiting..
