Visited over the Christmas week to see friends in Bray. Stopped in a delux double, which was very well proportioned, great walk-in shower, and very large bed. Tv does play normal tv, just press source and then the digital option. Easy access to hotel with the codes etc, great location for dart and bus. Would happily use it again and recommend rto others.
Clean comfortable room and beds. Easy access with code access. Handy location with bus stop outside door and not too fat from Dart. I was on the ground floor which had a wet room which was equipped for disabled use so was very spacious. Good find.
The most amazing hotel experience. Rooms were comfortable, and well equipped. Very clean and well looked after. staff were kind and helpful. theres shops and food nearby , and a short walk away to the dart for easy access to Dublin. 10/10. would definitely stay again.
Never been to an un-staffed hotel before so was exceedingly apprehensive about codes and getting in etc. Couldn't have been easier, all worked efficiently. Hotel was in a good location. My room was big; spotlessly clean; very modern and good. Bed was huge and very comfy. Bathroom was fine, clean, large towels and plenty of hot water. Room was very warm. The Nespresso machine failed for me as I don't know how to operate them and there are no instructions. Did what seemed obvious but no coffee came out. So not so good there. All the streaming channels are on the TV, but I prefer 'live' TV and the choice of channels poor. But overall excellent and I'd go again.
The room was lovely, however the bathroom was slightly claustrophobic. Also did not have the hair dryer as promised. Bray is a great location and the Harbour Bar was definitely worth the visit that the hotel recommended.
We stayed at Firefly recently to attend a concert in Dublin. The hotel prices in Dublin were ridiculous so looked a bit further out. Lets get the one problem with Firefly out of the way and it won't apply to all - NO LIFT. One of our party has mobility issues so struggled a bit with the stairs so if you have issues with stairs it would make sense to request a room on the ground floor. If you can manage stairs then it won't be a problem. Some reviewers commented on the noise from other guests, we were on second floor and I never heard any noise, so not sure where these comments are from. Other than that everything was excellent. Rooms and hotel are very comfortable, well decorated and the bed is probably one of the most comfortable I have slept in, and I sleep in lots of hotels. Great shower, plenty of hot water and usb charging and 240 sockets next to the bed. The hotel isn't staffed and you get a code for the door entry and for a key safe in the lobby which holds your key cards. Don't be put off by this, a text message arrived at around 13.10 as promised detailing the room number and codes for the door and safe to access you key card. There is a phone number and email if you get stuck. Check in is 15.00 so plenty of time. I had a couple of queries ahead of travelling so emailed reservations and got really quick and helpful responses back so really good customer service. Location wise it is a short 10 / 15 minute walk to Bray sea front and there is a car park just around the corner which you can park in all day for 5 euros and its a 2 minute walk to the hotel as the hotel doesn't have its own parking. Plenty of shops around and places to eat. Cash machine at AIB bank 2 mins walk away. We had breakfast at Liz Annies, literally 2 minutes away. Good food and nice people, Irish Breakfast was yummy. We also had lunch and a breakfast at the Firefly sister hotel which is on the seafront - the Martello. The staff were amazing and the food is very very good. It was very popular on the Sunday morning with locals which is a good sign. We would highly recommend. Its about a 20 minute walk from Firefly but if you need to drive there is lots of parking on the sea front (50cents for 1 hour). We also had an evening meal in the Pink Salt Indian restaurant which was exceptional. It has won loads of awards and you can see why. Booking is essential at weekends but I would suggest booking any time. Bray seafront on Sunday morning is free parking and does get busy but it also has a real family feel on a Sunday and the walk along the prom is lovely. For anyone heading for Dublin I recommend the Dart from Bray Daly station, at time of our visit a return ticket was 6 euros, and they run frequently all day. Takes you direct to centre of Dublin. Hope this info helps, I would highly recommend the Firefly and a stay in Bray.…
We stayed here at the weekend as we were having a night out in bray! Absolutely amazing hotel! Rooms were spotless and had everything you could possibly need for a nights stay. It’s a 5 min walk down to the seafront. Couldn’t fault it at all. Will definitely stay again if we’re in bray!
Myself and my 8year old sted in firefly in Bray on 10th 7th 22,place was very clean and Tidy and we both loved that there was nobody on reception as we were able to go about our business without any hassle, my daughter loved the Novelty of using codes and safes, lovely place would definitely recommend
Gorgeous room for great value. We booked it cos we were going to a concert in the Aviva Stadium - it was the best price and option for a nice hotel on a night of a big event when hotels can be really overpriced/booked out in Dublin. We hopped on the DART which is about 10 mins walk away from the hotel and the DART journey was 35 mins to the concert and back again afterwards. Perfect to stay in if you're going to a concert/event in Dublin or to explore Bray/Wicklow and is close to public transport including AirCoach, Dublin Bus, DART and train. There is also a nearby car park. Our room faced the main street but the noise wasn't too bad and we both had a great night sleep - the beds are so comfortable. We made a mistake on our booking but had no problem amending it when we gave them a phonecall. I got the text about how to access the front door and the locker for our room key about 2 hours before check in and wasn't a problem. Highly recommend!…
Small but perfectly formed room. So comfortable and you could set your perfect temperature using the aircon. Lovely that they had a kettle, iron and coffee machine and plenty of towels. Great system for key drop and collection, a vending machine and a drinking water tap. Megan on reception was fantastic to deal with and couldn't have been more helpful. Ill be back!!!!
