Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Thank you so much to all the staff at the Martello for making my mams 70th birthday so amazing from the prosecco in the room to the fabulous suprise desert after dinner. Caoimhe and the staff are so kind helpful and brilliant. We come to the Martello a few times a year and we have never been disappointed. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing stay

Not a hotel for anyone over 25 who wants a restful place to stay on the beach. Accommodations are the size of dorm rooms, and if you want to sleep, bring a lot of sleep aids because wall thumping music and loud patrons at the bars are full blast until 3 a.m. Had I noticed this in the hotel description, I would have chosen a hotel down the road. Parking was not easy either.

They really need to update their website to inform the public about the head and bed shaking music that occurs in the nightclub. I've taken the liberty to help the Martello nightclub hotel out by updating its website graphics. Now to get some sleep. It's 3am and the music finally stopped. Now to get 4 hours of sleep before the music starts again.

On the room facilities tab on the website they should add “music so loud the bed shakes” it’s an incredible feature. I recommend this hotel to anyone whose deaf. They should honestly just slice the other floors and make the whole damn building a night club. At least make it obvious on the website that music will be playing through the night, instead of sliding it in the booking info like it’s not a big deal when it is. I recommend this to anyone who has already lost their hearing and to those who want to get drunk and party through the night.

A great location with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Meals on site were very good, and with the varitey of spaces in the bar / pub areas we never felt crowded. A perfect 2 day holiday spot. Thank you!

Just ended a three night midweek stay at the Martello. Absolutely fabulous stay. This is our second August in a row here and it just keeps getting better. The staff at the check in desk are so friendly and super helpful in every detail. It was our silver anniversary and we were treated to a wonderful sea view room and a nice card and chocolates to greet us. The room was first class as you would expect and the bed was incredibly comfortable so we slept really well. Noise not a problem at all despite being being near the front as it more or less stopped around 10ish but even so it wasn’t intrusive before that. We love this hotel. The staff the rooms and ambiance are perfect. Just this morning as we were checking out one of the cleaners took my wife’s case all the way down to reception. Just a small touch but something she didn’t have to do so thank you. Thank you Martello and can’t wait to see you next year. We would highly recommend this hotel as our two visits have been so positive in every way.

Absolutely amazing spot to stay, eat and listen to great live music while having a few pints. Food was fab. Staff are amazing. Leanne & Mya were absolutely trojan workers, so friendly and always attentive. We were given a free upgrade to an apartment and wow, so much room, airy, plenty of light and so comfy
