Detailed Reviews
We just did 5 nights at Apple Farm. Absolutely outstanding spot. Everything about this place was perfect for us. Its small and very well kept. Facilities are immaculate and just what you need. Its right in the middle of amazing orchards, from which they produce apple juice, cider, cherries, strawberries and much more all of which you can purchase on the site shop. The staff are so friendly and helpful. There are donkeys on site which the kids loved visiting and feeding everyday. Small playground and a tennis court available. 5 minute drive to Cahir which has an Aldi and Super Valu as well as a great little Italian restaurant that does take away. From Cahir you can visit Swiss Cottage while taking in a stunning walk along the river Suir. We had a picnic on the banks one day. From the campsite a visit to St Patricks well is worth the trip for a very cold dip in a natural spring and a great spot for a picnic. Thanks to Con and all the crew at Apple Farm for a wonderful stay and we will be back.

Had a lovely 3 night stay here.
Pitches ate adequate with water and EHU if required.
They have campers facilities where you can cook and wash up.There is a washing machine and a mangle but no drier. There was a clothes airer tho'.
The showers are adequate.
The 'old fashioned' feel is very authentic, even down to the piano in the shed.
There are 2 lovely donkeys and a small play park. You can also walk around the orchards.
They sell their apple juice, cider, cider vinegar, strawberries, baking apples etc in the ship which is open long hours.
The camp is very reasonable at €20 per night with €3.50 for electric for 2 adults and a camper. Accommodating and obliging people here, would definitely revisit.

Ok so we just came back from the one night with 2 kids aged 5 and 7.
Yes it is exciting, you are sleeping on the plane, right? That is about it.
We paid 220 for 1 night.
The host was quite short when I was asking for more details about cooker, hobs, dining options etc. He said I can call or check on the website.
For the price I would expect little welcoming pack of tea, coffee sachets etc especially as there was a Krups coffee machine but no capsules given at all. I am not going to drive around to spend £6 on box of capsules to use one for my morning coffee.
We found rubbish wrappers behind one of the beds that were not ours which was easily visable not super hidden so with Covid around I am not sure how clean the place really was...
The table outside had rust and sharp paint coming off easy to cut a finger on it, again we all know it is hard times but bit off sand paper and a lick off paint is not that hard qhen you get paid 200 quid for 1 night stay.
Kids ate breakfast on the floor as there was no table (which would have easily fit the place) and was too cold outside. I have been camping etc before it is easy to bring a table from outside but again you should not have to if you pay this much.
At night we were woken up by a big loud noise, parts of the panneled ceiling fell off and one was hanging over little ones head.
So yes. We enjoyed it, it was something different and exciting but it is overpriced for what it is, £120 a night should be max.

It's a great place to go if you want too unwind and relax. Loads of wildlife and walks around the farm. The owner isn't welcoming at all but the staff are nice. Facilities are ok showers loads of hot water and bathrooms are in a barn/workshed with birds flying in and out. Pathway from pitches to toilets could do with more lights

I saw this site on the Camping Ireland app and thought the location , a family run working apple farm , would be a lovely place to stop for the night whilst travelling through Tipperary .
Upon arrival an older lady, whom I presume is the site owner , saw me drive up yet walked away into the farm shop. I then entered the shop and she once again chose to ignore me but I gave her the benefit of the doubt and assumed she was busy . Another staff member , a young local girl , then asked if she could help. She was extremely polite and helpful , booking me in and showing me round the site .
I went back to the shop to buy some of the farm produce later in the evening and again was served politely my the young girl and ignored by the older Dutch lady.
After dinner, I noticed an old fashioned mangle in the campers kitchen which had a sticker on it advising that it was able to be used. I thought this very interesting and proceeded to show my young son how it worked. Only then did the Dutch lady approach me in an extremely rude way, telling me to stop 'playing with the mangle ' !!!
She was very brusque and cheeky and I felt so embarrassed as other campers were present .
My sons also heard another child being 'reprimanded' by the lady when alone in the tennis court.
If you want a welcoming, child friendly campsite - don't bother coming here. The owner is rude and obviously does not understand the hospitality industry. If I wanted the be verbally insulted I could do it without spending 25€ !!

It is a lovely place, has a lot going for it as a venue, but the lady who checked us in was not at all friendly and every time she crossed paths with my son she gave out to him for no reason, she gave out to him for cycling his bike, she gave out to him for walking up around the reception/shop area, she gave out to him for going near the Orchard area, and she even gave out to him for leaning against the pool table while he was taking a shot while playing pool with me, she was pretty unfriendly when we checked in, and every time we met her after that, I heard a good few other visitors complaining about the same lady that weekend, I won't be going back which is a shame, it's a nice place and at a good stop over position for a lot of journeys but she completely ruined that weekend away.

Good points:
1) on site cider off-license and they sell fresh fruit and juice; all produced on-site.
2) Friendly staff (in general)
3) camping green has lots of trees, is quite picturesque and is dry for camping
4) lots of shower facilities
5) plenty of sinks for washing dishes after eating
6) plenty of power points for electricity. Also they have a charging point for electric cars
7) price was reasonable; we have a large tent - no extra charge for a large compared to a small tent.
8) lots of bins all split up into different categories - paper, cardboard, plastic, non recyclable, food etc
9) a few swings and a good big slide. swings are rough and ready being home-made but are sturdy. There's also a tennis court and then a pool table and 2 pianos inside.
10) there is a large covered area with 4-6 picnic tables - ideal for cooking and eating if the weather isn't dry/warm
11) can go fruit picking if you want - lovely fresh fruit
12) Free bottle apple juice on arrival.
Not so good points:
1) Owner was grumpy to kids on more than 1 occasion. And not just our kids.
2) Road traffic is very noisy at night when you're trying to sleep
3) There was something squealing at night for 2 of the nights we were there - not really the camps fault, but i couldn't sleep because of it. If I were to hazard a guess, it sounded like a rabbit caught in a trap.
4) Toilets, whilst not dirty, aren't exactly clean, and there is a whiff of pee in the mens especially come evening time (wife said the same about the womens)
5) There are a few dogs on site, and when dogs are roaming, there will be occasional turds. we had 1 on a child's shoe.
So there were more good things than bad, but compared to other places that i have stayed, it was average enough

I'm not sure about the Camp site, but if the lady who "mans" the apple and juice barn is anything to go by, I won't be dragging my canvas to "The Apple" any time soon. This is our second visit. We wanted to buy their apple juice which is difficult to get where we live. The shop "assistant", arrived from around the corner of the barn with a lit fag in her hand. She did not look pleased to see us. No welcome, or thanks for visiting. We chose our purchases while she hovered over us. She sliced up an apple with her pen knife and offered wedges to another customer. I prayed she wouldn't offer one to me (I prefer my apples nicotine free, thank you). She didn't. Anyway we paid and were glad to be on our way. No welcome, thank you or good bye from Smokey Sally. Interesting that the last time we visited there was a different person in the "shop" and she was just as unfriendly. There must be something in the apple juice.
Sharpen up your customer service at The Apple, and tell the smoker to disguise her habit or better still, buy her some Nicorette.
I doubt I'll visit again.
