When I arrived at check-in the staff member gave me a warm welcoming greeting. She was jovial, informative and pleasant. The room was surprisingly large and exquisitely clean with a modern bathroom and a sunflower ceiling mounted rain shower. I went to order food to bring back to my room. The restaurant manager greeted me and made me feel valued and had a lovely manner. I ordered a gourmet sandwich. In my experience, 'gourmet' sandwiches are tarted up a bit but aren't usually quality cuisine. I explained I was going to bring the food to my room. However, although room service isn't a regular provision, he arranged for the sandwich to be brought to my room. The sandwich was an experience in fine dining (slow cooked & peppered brisket with rocket) satisfyingly thick sliced, quality ciabatta and substantial mixed salad. I couldn't eat it all and this was only €10 when I considered I'd happily pay twice that for such a meal.

Bed was very comfortable and quiet and I dropped off straight away.

The room included breakfast. Again, full Irish was very high quality with quality ingredients, bread was particularly delicious as well as the sausages.

In all, the hotel's attitude to excellent customer service was apparent throughout the hotel and this consistency demonstrated a commitment to providing impeccable service.

The hotel is ideally situated on the town square, with it's cafés and bars reminded me of similar squares in France and Italy. The castle is 2 minutes walk.

This team appear to have it nailed in every aspect, with a price that made my stay very good value for money.

The team deserve credit for their efforts, as do the management for the high standards.

As a very frequent traveller, this hotel easily qualifies in comparison with premium international 4* brands and has been the best hotel experience in a long time.

I have been staying at Cahir House hotel twice a year for many years and can honestly say that if I could only ever stay at one hotel Cahir House would be my choice. I have just returned from my most recent stay (having been unable to stay since 2019 because of the restrictions). Once again, I received the warmest welcome from one of the lovely receptionists. My room was a recently refurbished en-suite room which had a beautiful view over the hotel gardens and Cahir Castle. The professional housekeeping team go about the business of keeping the rooms spotless in a quiet and efficient way. All the hotel staff, without exception, were friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. The beautifully refurbished Butler Room provides a comfortable and relaxing venue to enjoy the delicious breakfast. An excellent menu choice is available throughout the day and up to 9pm served by the friendly and attentive bar staff. Altogether the management and staff make a first class team. I would thoroughly recommend Cahir House as a great place to stay. I’m now looking forward to my next visit in March 2022. J. Hopkins. Gloucestershire UK

The hotel has an excellent location right on the middle of town and a few steps away from major tourist attractions and shops. Other attractions as the Swiss Cottage as easily accessible through a beautiful (and easy) 2km walk. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! COVID-19 physical distancing measures were in place during our visit with all personnel wearing face-covering and stations with hand sanitizers distributed across the hotel. The breakfast was magnificent with the menu including full Irish breakfast, veggie breakfast, poached eggs, fruit, juices, coffee, tea, etc. The room has ample space, very comfy beds, and an amazing bath & shower. Would definitely recommend staying here and look forward to visiting again!

We held a small event at The Cahir House Hotel during January 2022. We were so pleased with our overall experience, I am very happy to take the time to share our positive experience. All our lead up correspondence was dealt with efficiently & professionally by email. Given that Covid restrictions were a consideration at the time, there was extra correspondence in the lead up.
Luckily we were able to have our event, and Thanks to the friendly personal caring staff of The Cahir House Hotel, we were all extremely satisfied with our choice of gathering there. We had a meal which every guest was raving about, we had personal touches to the decor & the extras, we had the attention of lovely friendly servers & staff, all leading to an evening where everyone was at their ease leading to an overnight of happiness by all.
We gathered at breakfast the following morning, everyone comfortable & complimentary of the enviroment we had chosen.

The meal was reasonably priced & in our opinion - extremely good value for mnoney. The rooms were clean & comfortable. Our requests were fulfilled such as close rooms for the elderly, or using some kitchen facilities out of hours (sterilising infant bottles).

All in all, we would completely & highly recommend this hotel as an accomodation overnight stay, or also for hosting an event of any size.

Ár mBuíochas libh.

Cahir House Hotel easily caters for the solo traveler stopping off for a lunch while in Cahir. The bar area provides plenty of comfortable seating with an authentic welcome. I opted for the daliy sandwich special for EUR 12.95 which was pulled beef with barbecue sauce. It was tasty but the supply of sauce obscured the taste of the beef somewhat, which was a pity. No charge for tap water which was great and service provided for a 30-minute stop with enough time to visit the castle with a one-hour parking fee limit.

After two Covid 19 cancellations we finally had our big day. Our wedding was accommodated by the hotel from ceremony to celebration and where some guests queried if we would find it long, we now all agree it was not long enough. All requests were fulfilled and we felt so special as did our guests. Compliments to the Chef and kitchen for fantastic food, delicious and plentiful, and special diets catered for just as well. The bar staff and floor staff were friendly and efficient and Robert and Colette went the extra mile to ensure we were having our best day. The fresh flowers, chocolate and fruit in the Bridal Suite together with engraved Champagne flutes marking the date, little touches adding to the occasion. We are frequent customers of Cahir House Hotel and always enjoy our visit but we will always be greatful to the Management and Staff for making our wedding day The Best Day Ever thank you folks and keep up the excellent work. My friend and I spent 6 nights in the Cahir House Hotel last week. We were using the hotel as a base to walk St Declan's Way. We found the hotel staff to be so friendly, informative and helpful. They just could not do enough for you. They even booked a tour of the Mitcheltown caves for us, while we were out walking St Declan's Way. The bedroom was spacious with plenty of tea, coffee and milk supplies. The showers in the bathroom were powerful and plenty of hot water. We ate each night in the bar and there was a great variety on the menu and reasonably priced. The service at breakfast and dinner was efficient and courteous. I highly recommend this hotel as a great base to stay when exploring Cashel, Clonmel, Cahir and Mount Mellery in Waterford.

We stayed 1 night for our anniversary. Clean, comfy room and bathroom. Food was nice. Staff conducted themselves very well considering the restrictions at the time. Face masks were used and tables were cleaned thoroughly.

We checked in and were assigned a room that was so outdated, old fashioned and smelled like damp. it was like stepping into a time portal. It looked NOTHING like the pictures on the website. After some discussion with the receptionist she agreed to move us to a new room. It was like night and day. The new room was so much more modern and up to date and the bathroom was lovely. It was loud with the traffic on the street but that didn’t bother us. The bed was very comfy.

The hotel itself was nice, bar was good and the breakfast was amazing. All rooms need to be updated to the same standard, it’s crazy that the first room we had was the same price as the second as it was nowhere near worth the same!

Overall good stay.

We stayed in Cahir House Hotel at the end of October and I found it a lovely hotel with very warm and welcoming staff, from the receptionists through to the bar staff. We had dinner and breakfast there and both were excellent. I was particularly impressed by the selection of breakfast dishes on offer, although I would have like fresh tea, rather that tea that had been sitting in a thermos for a while.
The view from our window was gorgeous, with views of the castle and the hills in the background.
One small thing stops me from giving it five stars - I was a bit uncomfortable in the bar because there seemed to be little or no checking of covid passes - we weren't asked for ours at any stage and people seemed to be coming and going at will; there didn't appear to be ayone in the front of the house or at the entrance to the bar checking. Only for that, it would have been a great night...
