We spent a night here on our way further south. Our room was on the ground floor and was very comfortable. Although we had booked a double, it was a family room with four beds which made it a little crowded. However, it was spotless as was the ensuite bathroom. Patrick was welcoming, with a good sense of humour. He gave us some suggestions on where to go for dinner and the following morning provided us with a cooked breakfast. The B&B is within easy walking distance of the centre so once the car was parked, everything was accessible on foot. All in all, I can recommend staying here!

Location! Location! Location! You don’t have to move your car. You are right around the corner from the ROC! Patrick, the owner, is so hospitable. The property is older but very clean and the breakfast was great. We were treated with such warmth and care from the beginning to the end of our stay! Tip #1: try to get to guided tour. It is included with the OPW pass or 3€ extra. Tip #2: Speed Queen laundry is across town (4 miles away) and all is done with card. It is so easy. The Lidl across the street has great prepared salads and sandwiches so you can have a picnic while your laundry washes and dries. (Detergent and fabric softener included)

The location was wonderful - short walk to restaurants, city center and Rock of Cashel.
Patrick and his wife are incredible hosts - great sense of humor and just make you feel right at home immediately. Loved the room - double and two twins; everything very clean and neat and comfortable. Outlets very accessible. Anything you need, they will provide for you! Breakfast was wonderful. Very reasonable price, great food, great hosts and great location!!! Could not ask for more in a B&B. Highly recommend

Cleanliness: very clean

Sleep Quality: Terrible. All three beds/mattresses are terrible, we could not fall asleep for hours and when we did, we woke up with back pain and twisted neck (from the bad pillows too). Beside, what kept also waking us up, the loud noise came from the building possibly the AC or heater or some kind of generator that kept turning on and off all night.

Amenities:
breakfast was very good; hot plate of two scrambled eggs, piece of bacon, two slices of tomato with two triangles of white toast. Brown bread, butter and jam. Few cheeses and grapes, orange juice. Tea and coffee.
The bathroom is very small, the toilet does not flush toilet papers properly. The shower is weak and water temperature control is challenging.

Staff/Service: Amazing, really amazing host “Patrick” …. What a wonderful man tried every thing and anything to please and help the guests.

Property/Facilities: Nice building, beautifully decorated interior but very simple and primitive rooms

Location: Centrally located to the Rock of Cashel. Few minutes walking distance.

Value: For less than $100 a night, excellent option if you are on a budget, especially there are no hotels in the area

Overall rating! 5 for friendliness and hospitality. Zero for sleep quality.

Recommendations: If you do not care about sleep quality or noise and you are on budget, this is an extremely affordable and perfect place to sleep that ONE night. For me, I should have stayed the night in a hotel in Kilkenny instead.

Thank Patrick a million, but I have to be honest with my fellow travelers. Your house will always be fully booked months in advance as other people will also appreciate your hospitality and the location of your house.

A very homey and comfortable place, with a very good breakfast included. The location can't be beat: You're less than 10 minutes' walk from the entrance to the Rock. At the going rate of €110, it's

Our host, Patrick, was a real character. Full of dry Irish wit.

It was a little odd being told that you must check in between 3:30 and 6:30 pm. But they were flexible when I called ahead.

Excellent Location, Hosts and extremely good value for Money.

I really don’t get some of the negative comments from previous reviews… you get what you pay for.

Although Patrick may not be everyone’s cup of T I found him really friendly and very accommodating.
I did try to insist on paying extra for the additional rounds of toast and over zealous amounts of red & brown sauce I used, but Patrick was having none of it… Top Man ! indeed

I did manage to appease my conscience by allowing Patrick to extract a little diesel from my car.

I would definitely go back !

We had a really great stay at Rockville House. Patrick was a very nice host, always funny and helpful.
We had cereals, bread, cheese, some fruit and a fried egg with bacon and sausages for breakfast.
The rooms were clean and nice, the b&b is situated in walking distance to the Rock of Cashel.

Cashel is a nice little place with a castle. We stayed here in a B & B. Very reasonably priced, which is on the street at the bottom of the castle. Our room had a KS bed, and 2 single beds, a large family room with en-suite. Breakfast is served in a large dining area. Cereal, yoghurts and cooked breakfast is available. Very clean and comfortable. Paddy, the owner, is quite a character!

This is a lovely little B&B within walking distance of the rock of Cashel. From some rooms you have a view of the historic site. The proprietor was able to accommodate us last minute. Beds were comfortable. The bathrooms are dated but that was not unexpected. The breakfast was delicious, including eggs and bacon which satisfied the gluten-free person in our party. The B&B is located a couple of blocks from the downtown. I would stay here again.

Close to Rock of Cashel, walking distance to town and good breakfast. Friendly hosts. Our room was small as was the bathroom. Didn’t sleep well in the bed. The room was warm with the heater going and there wasn’t a way to turn off the heater without a wrench.
