An excellent B&B. Jim was fun, helpful and their home was beautiful. Location was perfect for a stroll to the Rock or the abbey which is in the back field The breakfast was plentiful and tasty - well done to the chef Location is only a couple of hours from Dublin so an easy drive

Clean with good breakfast. Mr O'Neill over familiar with guests even sat with us while eating breakfast. No matter where you have been or what you have done he has done better!!! Will revert back to a hotel stay on next visit.

This B&B is your archetypal Irish B&B. Run by a couple who wholeheartedly welcome visitors. It offers the warmest of idiosyncratic Cashel hospitality. We enjoyed our stay immensely. We would not hesitate to recommend or return.

This is a wonderful place to stay! The host was very friendly and full of information. Perfect example of the Irish hospitality that you hear so much about. Breakfast was very good. Plenty of choices and Jim was kind enough to prepare my eggs to my request. Room was comfortable. Bathroom was a good size and Jim gave instructions on...

We loved this place. It was very cozy, clean and comfortable. Jim, the host was very welcoming and very funny too. The location is great as it's only a few blocks from the center of town. He gave us some good recommendations for dinner. We'd stay here again

One of our favorite memories is being welcomed late in the day at this very nice B&B. The dining area and living room were comfortable and attractive as were our room and bath. From the back of the home, you could see ancient monastery ruins! The best part was our friendly and helpful host, Tom. We highly recommend this lodging.

We stayed at Peggy O'Neil's B&B and really enjoyed it. Even met Daisy and had a nice chat with the owner in the morning. We had a wonderful view of Hore Abbey out of our window! Great breakfast in the morning. Would highly recommend to others.

My wife and I spent one night with Jim and Daisy in September. Daisy is a Boxer who helped us get over missing our own dogs while on our vacation. A wonderful home and host for your visit to Cashel. A wonderful breakfast and a short walk into town for dinner.

I loved my stay at Peggy O'Neills B&B!!! My hosts were phenomenal!! Witty banter, charm, care & travel advice came with the stay- which only added to the very comfy room & bed. My en suite room was excellent, & if I'm in Cashell in the future, I'll make sure to book there again!!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Peggy O'Neill's is a charming family run bed and breakfast located on the Golden road, three minutes walk from the centre of Cashel. Peggy has been welcoming guests into her home for over a decade and she provides homely yet very comfortable accommodation and huge hearty breakfasts at a very reasonable price. Peggy's is a 3 minute walk from the centre of Cashel Town and a 10 minute walk from the Rock of Cashel.Peggy O'Neill's unique selling point is the wonderful view of Hore abbey from the back of the property. Hore Abbey (also Hoare Abbey, sometimes known as St.Mary's) is a ruined Cistercian monastery near the Rock of Cashel, County Tipperary, Republic of Ireland.'Hore' is thought to derive from 'iubhair' – yew tree. The former Benedictine abbey at Hore was given to the Cistercians by Archbishop David MacCearbhaill (in 1270), who later entered the monastery. He endowed the Abbey generously with land, mills and other benefices previously belonging to the town. The story, beloved of tour-guides, that he evicted the Benedictines after a dream that they were about to kill him, is unlikely to be true and probably arises from the Archbishop's 'interference' with the commerce of the city of Cashel. His disfavour of the established orders in Cashel certainly caused local resentment. He was resented by some of the towns-people, being considered too much in favour of the Irish by the more Anglicised. This is evident in the objection by the thirty-eight local brewers to the levy of two flagons out of every brewing and in the murder of two monks who were visiting the town. ... more   less
