Where to start.... The smell, oh my lord what a stale, musty, odour throughout. The bed.. An attempt at cleaning was prehaps made a few months ago. The room... The smell again!! The bathroom.. Sweet Lord, filthy isn't even an accurate enough description. Mould, broken window clasps, doors didn't close properly and the carpets definitely had their own eco-system in them. The staff were really nice though I felt bad for them.

Stayed a weekend here to do some hiking with friends. Some rather unfair reviews on here. I would say the accommodation is excellent for the price, ok some things show age however the room was clean, beds comfortable, shower was good and breakfast excellent. The staff we interacted with were all very friendly. Nightclub was not running so can’t comment on noise issues other reviews mention. The car park has been made into a large beer garden, which was enjoyable. Very central location, I would stay again definitely!

As someone who works all over ireland, staying in hotels from Jan to dec, this ranks as one of the worst hotels I've stayed. Dont be fooled by the nice frontage photos of the hotel on google, because it looks worn out and tired on the outside and unfortunately its the same inside. You are greeted by one of the worst looking receptions ever, dirty floors, and an even more dirty looking tattered reception. There is an obvious musty smell, which gets worse as you go upstairs. Carpets filthy and stained, and stinking. The carpet in the room was the same, and the room was freezing despite the radiator being on. Cracked windows do not not help keeping the draft out. The tv had no remote control, and only had 3 stations but worst than that, I thought I was back in the 70s with the rolling tv picture and grainy image(see pic). The decor was tacky, tatty and worn out. The bed was horrible too, my feet were higher than my body, and the mattress was obviously a cheap mattress, and as you move around on it, you can hear the springs creaking . I decided not to have a shower, simply because I went to pour a glass of water, oh but there were no glasses, so I used a white cup instead. The water had a slightly tainted colour to it, so I wasnt going to shower in it, just to be on the safe side. They dont do food in the evenings, which was a pain but clonmel has plenty of good places to eat. Breakfast was plentiful and good. Overall a very pour experience, and I would advise to stay away from this hotel unless some major restoration was done

You get what you pay for here and being honest for the money it was not awful. Its not a 5 star hotel and being honest probably a one star but staff are very nice. Rooms are dated and need of some TLC bathrooms also. Its not spotlessly clean either but again people need to know this ins't a place to go with families its next to a nightclub and it is of course is a late bar. Perfect spot if going out a weekend in Clonmel but if not steer clear.

Its just as well there were no working lights in our room, I didn't have to see how terrible it was. There were buckets everywhere to catch the water running down the walls. My mother's bathroom had mold growing across the ceiling. Didn't stay for breakfast, was worried about what state the kitchens would be in. Truly awful.

The rooms are small, dated and unclean. Window didn’t open and the room was overheated. Mattress soft and must be at least 20 years old. The bathroom was full of mold and the water came out brown. Breakfast was good however everything was dirty from the cutlery to the teapot. Needs a good clean and a revamp. Great position however and if just needing a bed for the night this is fine

Very dated and does not seem to encourage business very much.Needs a complete makeover. Used to be very busy back in the day.The bar was deserted and seemed to be unmanned. A disappointing visit. Does not make use of its its history.
