I recently stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with my wife. The room itself and the cleaning staff were excellent and couldn't fault anything on that side. But the food and bar staff were horrible, mad us feel unwelcomed and a nuisance. When we arrived for dinner we were told that we couldn't have starters because the chef wanted to leave early. Then later when going to the bar for a glass of ice after asking the barman, I was rudely interrupted by a floor staff member not asking what I needed or how they could help, but instead confronted asking what I was doing and what I wanted. The treatment we got was so bad that we didn't even go back for dinner the second night. Before we arrived I tried to book the spa with a voucher I had but it was booked out. Because of this we were told before arriving that we could change the value of the voucher for the food and bar, but upon arrival this was not honoured. I put in a complaint to the manager but when telling him what happened he refused to believe us and was no help at all. Overall this hotel was okay to stay in, but if you're planning on using the amenities, specifically the food and bar, I would steer clear, especially since on our second night when we went to hearns hotel just down the road for dinner and drinks, the staff were lovely and hospitable, we got vip treatment with lovely food.

Stayed for one night over the June Bank Holiday in the Thurles Suite. The Suite was gorgeous. Lovely big, comfortable couch in a separate sitting area, with a smart TV to watch netflix on. The bed was really comfortable and the views were stunning. Loved the big bathroom too. The staff were all lovely and friendly. We had afternoon tea in the bar and it was very reasonably priced compared to other hotels. Good selection of treats too. We requested that half the sandwiches be vegetarian and there was no issue. Breakfast had a good selection. We particularly enjoyed the pancakes. There was plenty of sanitiser stations around and we felt very safe and secure with the measures put in place. Would definitely come back again.

What can I say only AMAZING!! One of the best hotels I’ve possibly stayed in! From start to finish the whole experience was amazing! Firstly thank you to Michelle in reservations, who kindly upgraded us to the Carrick suite! Upon arrival to the room we were gifted some beautiful chocolates and a welcoming card. The room itself is amazing, a little cosy sitting areas, vanity room and massive bathroom! I was overwhelmed! The front of house staff were lovely and very attentive. (Apologies I never got the girl on receptions name). We had treatments in the spa. Kiera who done my facial was amazing and my face is still glowing and super soft this morning still! To dinner, where the young ladies in the restaurant whom were super attentive and kind. The food was top notch, tasty and plenty of it! Overall we don’t want to leave! The whole experience was amazing and we will 1000% be returning. Thank you all even to the wonderful accommodation staff we made the room super safe with all the standards. We will be back again. Thank you all so much Danielle & Séamus

We stayed midweek and had a great time. Room was lovely. Netflix capability on the TV. Comfortable bed. Great shower. Clean and well designed. We ate in the hotel both nights. Steak and lamb cutlets the first night. Both were excellent. Burgers the second night and we’re also brilliant. It was clear the staff were quite new and still learning but their manner and customer interaction made up for their shortfalls. Breakfast was amazing. The guy running it was so efficient but not rushing. It was truly brilliant. Swimming pool was nice with the few restrictions making it difficult to get into the steam room sauna or jacuzzi. With patience they were excellent facilities once you get in.
