I stayed in the Minella Hotel in the Courtyard suites and found the whole experience extremely pleasant. On arrival I was greeted by the General Manager and the check in process was very speedy and pleasant. As is good practice to reduce physical contact during Covid the keys were preallocated , I enquired about dining and was given a good list of local food outlets that offer delivery through both online and phone bookings. I parked directly outside my allocated room and found the accommodation to be warm , very clean and a welcoming envelope from the manager outlining Covid protocols and contact emergency details in the event that I became unwell. There was milk , individual ,sugars , tea / coffee etc and bread for toasting for the morning stocked in kitchen.
My room was extremely comfortable the bedlinen was immaculately laundered and was of an exceptional quality . The rooms were airy and well ventilated . In the bathroom the toiletries were generous and nicely packaged. The accommodation was provided with sanitisers . I had a great sleep in a very comfortable bed .The following morning I visited the beautiful Fodar food truck and had a delicious coffee and pastry. Prior to check out the general manager asked if I would like to have food delivered to the suite as she was aware that I was leaving to work late into the evening. The wifi was fast and accessing it was a very simple process. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and the addition of the food truck and the thought put into the outdoor seating was a very welcome addition to the stay.
I have a lot of experience in managing IPC measures in businesses during Covid and have to say that the protocols in Minella are well thought out and I felt extremely safe and found the stay very pleasant . Thank you , I will be back and look forward to having your well renowned Sunday Lunch .

I stayed at the Hotel Minella with a group recently; many of whom had particular requests in regards to certain features in their rooms - all were supplied and allocated quickly and efficiently. Attention to detail and anticipation of guests' requirements seem to be their speciality. Rooms were spacious and airy, showers efficient and towels generous. Both breakfast and dinner were varied and professionally served. Those lucky enough to get a view of the river were delighted - ask for an even numbered room. Lovely walks in the grounds by the river and pleasant seating in the grounds to sit and relax. Those guests who used the pool etc were also gratified.
Is there anything to fault it...I think not. The fact that the owners seem to keep a watchful eye on everything and even lend a land to avoid delays at dinner seems to be the secret of its success.
Definitely a place to return to at other times of year.

Had a wonderful couple of days in the minella hotel. A new find for 2021 and what a discovery. From the moment we were warmly welcomed at reception i knew this hotel was something special. We were brought to our suite which was overlooking the river suir with stunning views from our balcony whic was fully fitted with table and chairs. A tray arrived to the room with tea and spongcake. Nice touch. The room was airy and bed was v comfortable
The jacuzzi bath and huge shower was such a treat after long walks in the area. Staff were friendly and very efficient. Dinner was divine with best rack of lamb served followed by delicious sherry trifle. Leisure centre was spotless and pasha was so friendly and helpful. As we checked out we were offered coffee for our jouney.
Friendly staff stunning location safety measures top class. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

My partner and I dined in the bar of this hotel, and from start to finish it was horrendous.

We were seated at a table of 4,and another man joined our table half way through our meal, which was quite awkward and a bit bizarre as there were other tables available.

We ordered from the bar food menu, I got the minella burger which was overcooked and just not nice, it was like something you would get from a chip van. The chips that came with it were fine.

My partner ordered the fillet steak, which is priced at €30. She asked for just steak and vegetables, as she didn't want the potatoes, onions, mushrooms or gravy that were listed as accompanying it. She was not asked if she wanted extra anything instead of the items she didn't want.

The steak was gristly and very greasy, wasn't cooked how she asked for it, and the veg was minimal. The real problem came when we went to pay, I mentioned that she didn't have potatoes, onions, mushrooms or gravy so it was hardly going to be the full €30. I was told the price is the price. This is just terrible practice, if the price is the price then the waitress should have asked if she wanted extra veg or anything instead of the items she didn't want.

So all in all, terrible service and worse food, will not be back. Avoid at all costs.

Had a few lovely experience with the staff that worked here, they were very professional and friendly. Always there to help with what we needed. The food was alright and the rooms are a bit too pricey for what they offer too but the management were horrendous to deal with, had to deal with Liz while I was there and she was constantly rude to us, and how they treated their staff even in front of customers was highly unprofessional and down right bullying!

The grounds are pretty Room was ok but light bed not working. They dont give you tissues. I don’t think you should have to blow your nose in toliet paper at a four star hotel They have squeeze bottles of multipurpose liquid soap attached to wall instead of usual complimentary toiletries. No conditioner or body lotion. They have robes for you to use unfortunately the one I put on had dried food on it. Breakfast was very average. The dinner at the meeting we attended was very unimpressive as well. Several other things were broken. Not what I expect from a four star hotel

Booked this hotel last minute while planning to do the blue way cycle, and after staying here can’t really understand the glowing reviews. The customer service was terrible, and while some of the young staff are friendly they obviously haven’t a clue. On check in the receptionist was very friendly but quickly escorted us to the lift - didn’t show us the bar / restaurant or tell us anything about breakfast / evenings meals / WiFi / check out etc. When going to breakfast we were told sit anywhere but nobody told us where the buffet was or what kind of system they were operating until we asked ourselves, had to ask for tea (twice) before it was brought to us. Cereal was stale and food very average. On the previous evening we ordered a taxi through reception for 7:30. Most 4 star hotels would be in contact with a taxi service and anywhere I’d been before they would usually be early. When it hadn’t arrived at 7:40 we politely asked at reception was it coming to be told “if she ordered it, it will come”. The man who was terribly dressed and rude is apparently the owner judging by reviews on here. We gave this place every chance we could but they just don’t seem to want to please guests. We had pool booked for 12 noon on check out day but actually left as we wanted to get out of the place. The room was nice and the Tv had Netflix and YouTube facilities and the bed was comfy but the room definitely was not cleaned properly. A perfect hotel if it was €50 less and selling itself as 3 star. Overall quite disappointing for the price you pay - nowhere near 4 star standard and won’t be returning.

The room was comfortable and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The check in receptionist was very helpful. Th room rate at the hotel was cheaper than online, which was a pleasant surprise.

However, dinner was not a good Restaurant itself was closed because it was a Monday night and quiet; that’s no problem. My collègue and I had dinner in the bar. The menu was very limited and we both opted for the plaice. At €20, I was not expecting to have to pay extra for « sides », but we had to order chips and a salad separately. Assuming that one portion of each would be fine between the two of us we got a small basket of chips and a small bowl of salad that was definitely not fresh. There were two breaded fillets of fish on each serving though.

Breakfast was also only good, not great.

The breakfast and bar staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Have to say after a 2 night stay we were so pleased to have chosen this hotel for my wife's birthday. Set in between the comeragh and knockmeldown mountains on the banks of the river suir its location is perfect with lovely gardens to walk and relax. On arrival we were greeted at reception by a lovely friendly lady in which check in was fast and informed us on breakfast times and general run of hotel. She showed us to our room which was a suite on top floor overlooking the garden and river with fabulous views and also had balcony. The room was very spacious with large comfortable bed on which a good night sleep was guaranteed. It was spotless clean and had multi channel TV, hairdryer, iron, tea nd coffee making facilities etc. Bathroom was spacious with large shower and also spotless. We were welcomed and treated to champagne nd goodies for my wife's birthday and also had complimentary tea and scones delivered to our room on arrival. Breakfast was very good and had variety and friendly staff to assist us with anything we requested. Dinner was good and reasonable priced and have to mention the the decor in the bar was really so different to most. To Elizabeth and all her team tanks for making it a lovely stay. And finally to the man himself John the manager a special thanks for his kind hospitality and continued success in your hotel business and also to Minella racing in which you were kind enough to gives us permission to visit and give insight into your racing business. Definitely be back.

I drop in here occasionally for lunch in the bar. Choices are wide, appetizing and varied. While soup and salad are always my preferences I will chance a dessert if I feel it is homemade. Real Sherry trifle is rarely on menus in restaurants nowadays and when it is, the taste of sherry is negligible, proper custard is omitted and jelly (it doesn't have to be a main ingredient) is watery. Not so here... while The Winter's Tale could be a wee bit more generous nevertheless the trifle is good and results in return visits. Waitresses are kind and attentive and value one's custom. I would definitely recommend the food in this comfortable hotel.

This a full service facility. They have an exercise (gym) area, also park like grounds. I would assume supervised children could use- enjoy these areas.

As far as I know there is, I have never stayed there as I live close by. I have never come across a hotel that didn't have room service. If it's late night service, that may be limited. I hope this helps.
