Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We recently went to Ireland and our first stop was Dundalk; conveniently located half way between Dublin and Belfast. John and Maisie are the owners of this now 55 year old year B&B. They sat with us in the evening and told us the history of the area and what it was like to live in Ireland during their 80 years of life. They are a beautiful representation of the Irish people; kind, accommodating, and well informed.
The rooms are what you would expect of a B&B in Europe. The rooms are exceptionally clean, compact, but very nice. I didn't come for work, so not having uninterrupted wifi was not an issue.
You will love your stay the Rosemount B&B.

Lovely place to stay, made us feel very welcome from the start. Had lots of local knowledge and also places to eat. Ann was the star of the house, she helps her parents etc over the weekends and has a great way with words! She buzzes about at breakfast time, but still manages to talk. Breakfasts were tasty and filling. Our room was lovely at the back of the house, so extra quiet. The rest of the house and rooms looked great too. It all looked like it had been through a makeover so fresh and clean looking. I would recommend very highly

It is very clean, nice carpet, lovely furniture in main areas. Stained glass windows, some details show their love to luxury - but the place has been made to last probably 40-50 years ago.

Bedrooms are tiny - made for the small Irish folks ;-)

Bathroom was a joke: soo small I couldn't even have a shower, when you want to go to the toilet be prepared to have to put your legs under the sink. The "hot" water got sort of warm after a long time, but nothing like hot at 8am.

The place was cold - heating comes on at 6 pm and well after we got up in the morning.
The breakfast average. No joice of juices, lots of canned fruit, a few pieces of fresh fruit, no plain joghurts, basic cerials. Irish breakfast was ok, not very friendly service in the morning. Maybe this is Dundalk friendliness - no idea.

In the evening the lady of the house made us a nice warm drink but brought buns that were obviously bought in a supermarket.

No tourist information, usually one would epect to find a lot of information waiting for guests - nothing here.

I am sure they always have plenty of guests as it is right opposite the Dundalk Institute of Technology.

Compared to other B&Bs I experienced warmer welcomes, better service - people elsewhere still offer homemade cakes / breads, and I never before stayed in such a tiny room. But I am sure otherwise they would not be able to have soo many bedrooms.

In Dingle I get B&B for €50 with a phantastic landscape on a quite road, super service big rooms. On my remark of the size of the bathroom I was told she is not a hotel and that is normal for B&Bs. Well maybe this was the standard in the 70s to 90s but not anymore, sorry.
The price of 70€ is just well over board.

We booked 8 rooms at this B&B as part of a tour and then got a phone call a week later to say that they hadn't got the rooms that we'd booked!

Terrible. Would never book here again. It's a complete waste of my time!

We stayed here for two nights.
We were received by John and later his wife who were very freindly
The room we stayed in was very nice with lots of nick nacks and comfortable bed.
The ensuite was very good. It was like staying in a family home with sitting room
available to guests. The fee wifi was fine.
Breakfast was typically Irish with lots of choice. Plenty of off road parking.

Really nice, professional B&B. Hosts are very friendly. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was really nice. We had a cot with us for our baby and there was no issue. Definitely use again.

Dropping one mark as the mattress was softer than I like.

Myself and my family stayed over as we had a wedding in the local area. It was myself (32) my sister (28) her fiancé (30) my brother (20) and my little nephew (1). We were here for 3 nights for our cousins wedding, the owners made us very welcome, we found it quiet and really enjoyed the Irish breakfasts in the morning. We would definelty come back again.

The only negative was that at times we struggled to contact to the wifi.

My boyfriend book this B&B for one night. Upon our arrival, the owner tells us the room has no heating. The heating was broken for more than a week. This is a shame for a B&B!!! At the end of January, full winter time, he had the obligation to inform us about this before our arrival but it did not happen. We left. The room and bathroom were freezing. The owner did not apologize and insulted us. He was very rude and unprofessional. This place is to avoid and should be removed from the market. Very disappointing.

I had the pleasure of staying here twice, with a group of golfing friends. It is convenient, spotless and very pretty as the house is surrounded by flowers. Maizie, John and Edel did everything possible and beyond the call of duty to make our stay a happy and comfortable one. Lovely rooms, and food and we had a sitting room to use after our golf where we could sit together, have a drink and chat. When I am ever back in the area, I will be booking in again.
