Just returned from this hotel had an excellent experience from arrival beautiful meal and cocktails to die for.Excellent staff in bar reception and at breakfast.Would recommend hotel. Bedroom clean and spacious.
My wife and I visited Dundalk today and decided to go and have some food .The food was cold the steak was horrible I did say it to the staff but it seemed to go over their heads went to pay for the food and was ignored at the bar for 10mins .When I am eventually got a guy I told him that the steak was not nice and I shouldn’t have to pay for it .The steak was not eaten I took a small chunk of the end of the sandwich and it was then I knew there was a very strange disinfectant taste of it .I tried explaining this to the cocky bar guy and he says nothing I can do about that that’s the way our steaks taste .At this point I knew I was talking to someone that give a toss about the customer or the fact that the customer was unhappy with their food .At this point I just payed the bill of €55.50 and left . Reading other reviews it’s does look like there is serious issues with quality of food and cold food.If you are looking for a place to eat stay well away from here you will only leave disappointed and in bad form .…
Very friendly staff, great breakfast, comfortable room and it was very good value. There is some free hotel parking at the back of the hotel. My room overlooked the main street, so if you want a very quiet room, ask for something at the back; there was some audible street noise, but the windows were double glazed, so it was not particular bad.
We stayed here in April 2022 because we were going to Dundalk races on a Friday night. Rooms were gorgeous. Staff friendly. 99% of things were satisfactory and spot on. However, that 1% is a big negative. We arrived at the hotel at 4:30pm to be told that there was a chance our room wouldn’t be ready. 4:30pm! That’s ridiculous but we thought it may be the case that they were short staffed. We eventually got our room at 4:45pm which to us was unacceptable but the following morning (Saturday) we were equally upset to be woken by housekeeping at 9:30am to clean the rooms. This is not a cheap hotel and there is simply no excuse for not having rooms ready at 4:30pm, especially when they wake you up at 9:30am to clean your room.
The only place to stay in Dundalk if you want top quality comfort, food, service and an overall experience for great value. I made a group booking for 24 people, staying Fri 11th and Sat 12th March. All of the rooms were excellent, a wow factor when you open the door. The staff are brilliant (friendly, professional) late changes were no problem, any request (change room key, iron to room, etc.) was handled very quickly. Breakfast is 10/10. Hotel Bar looks great and was great craic. I could go on :)! I'd highly recommend and I will be back for sure
Stayed for 3 nights over st Patrick's Day for my boyfriends birthday. Lovely hotel, super modern rooms. Reasonably priced drinks at the bar. Got room service one night and the burgers were tasty. The hotel does advise of noise at night however was soo much noisier than expected. Continued to about 3/4am and when the music stopped the chat didn't. As it's on the main street we could hear every conversation people were having passing the hotel (we were 5th floor) all through the night (even with the windows closed and tv on). Wouldn't stop us staying again though. Would suggest fridges in the rooms as it's so handy when travelling. I had requested a bottle of prosecco at last minute to be at the room for arrival and the staff member (Nathan) was more than helpful and accommodating. We were also able to check in and our room was ready for 2pm which was so handy and earlier than the expected 4pm check in. Central hotel close to the shopping centre and train station. Would recommend to anyone coming to Dundalk and we would stay again …
Went to the bar with friends for a few drinks and nibbles. We also ordered 3 sticky toffee puddings and ended up with banana and walnut puddings. When we called the waiter they said the chef changed the recipe. I have emailed the hotel directly with no reply.
Excellent overnight stay in the Imperial. Service was incredible, room was comfortable and stylish, food was fantastic and the stay was seamless from check in to check out. Highlights of our stay were the head doorman who was a courteous, welcoming gentleman throughout, and the waitress who served us our dinner on the Saturday evening and breakfast on the Sunday morning. Both went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Unfortunately we didn't get both of their names, but they were both excellent.
Really enjoyed our stay at this cosy stylish hotel. Great value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were impeccably clean and the decor was gorgeous. Parking is across the road from the hotel which was fine. Looking forward to returning soon!
We stayed at The Hotel Imperial for one night as we were visiting to watch Dundalk FC v Derry FC. Check in was quick and great, the receptionist was really friendly and helpful. Our room was 318 on the 3rd floor. Double room and bathroom was ok. bed was comfy but the pillows were awful, so high! Shower was slow flowing. The hotel bar was lovely and the restaurant and breakfast was great. The staff were very friendly. The location of this hotel is good and room 318 done the job for one night but if we return, I wouldn’t want the same room.
