Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

2 adults and a teen camped for 4 nights in July. Nicky & his team were a delight to encounter. They were welcoming, chatty, interested, knowledgeable and really helpful. We had luckily booked in advance (initially for 3 nights) and extending our stay was not a problem. We were situated near the abolution blocks which were of a high standard and regularly re-cleaned. Basic wash up facilities, a fridge, a freezer, microwave, kettle & toaster available in the kitchen area. No cupboards or stoves. The laundry area was a bit pricey but had basic facilities of washer, dryer, ironing board etc & clothes horse. Showers were free & mostly warm. There is an on-site bar restaurant which currently open Thurs-Sat night serving tasty basic menu. All covid 19 regulations appear to be observed throughout. On Thursday night there was a substantial sized outdoor trad seísun on which was great. It was our first time seeing live performance since March.
Other nights for a short period, one could place an order for drinks from the bar with Nicky & it was delivered to our site. Novel & VERY Irish 🤣☘️. We were really lucky with the weather also, which always helps!

Stayed here for 2 nights in July. We were checked in by a lovely lady who asked for my number “to text a receipt”.... well played girl. We set up initially by the new toilets but after pitching our tents, I was threatened by a child. We decided to move further down the back of the campsite which was also close to toilets/showers. We ate and drank in Nickys Bar that evening, which was quite enjoyable. Nicky was generous enough to give us 7 ice cubes to take back for a late night drink. Really enjoyed the experience of camping the first night, I thought this is something we could do bi monthly. I used the showers the following morning, no lights in there so had to leave the door unlocked and ajar to let in some light. If the shower didn’t freshen me up, the door swinging open by another camper certainly did the job. We ate and drank again in Nickys on our last night, staff were lovely. The heavens opened up that night and I ended up having to abandon my home and jump in the car. I don’t think camping is for me.

Stayed here in our touring caravan for three nights. Great base for touring round west Cork area. Site is massive and was very busy the weekend we were there. Owner Nicky and his staff are all super friendly. Lovely bar on site, which was opened the three nights we were there. My two boys had the best time making friends climbing rocks and cycling Down to the bigger playground and to play soccar.

Stayed here over the June bank holiday weekend, as expected the place was very busy. We payed €37 for per night for unit and two adults (including electricity). This is the most we have ever been charged for a caravan park. Our main gripe is that we were in a lower field away from the main and newer toilet/shower block, the toilet/ shower block in our area needs some attention and is very dated, it didn't seem to be cleaned at all over the few days we were there.

Would have reservations about staying here again.

Just to warn people this time of year the place is full of midge's in the morning and at night, you have been warned

Glengarriff was a good location for exploring the Beara Peninsula, however this camp site is let down by a lack of cleanliness. The bathrooms were not cleaned often enough so hand towels and toilet paper were out at times and the bins were overflowing in the bathrooms and floors were mucky. One morning the kitchen had not been cleaned by 8,30 so we faced overflowing bins and blood on the counter top and floor. With Covid restrictions in place throughout the country, we found the level of cleanliness here unacceptable. The bathrooms and showers were newly renovated but showers were lukewarm and hooks were missing on shower doors. We paid 43 euro per night, so it was on the expensive side.

Would not recommend this campsite to my worst enemy.Bar staff are very ignorant, not only was I waiting 20 minutes to get seated but I was then waiting half an hour after ordering to get a drink.Food was vile, tasted like cheap Aldi version. Showers are cold and owner is very cranky. Playground is unsafe for children and the potholes are ridiculous. Price is extortion for what little service you are getting and wouldn’t pay a cent towards the place ever again.

I camped here solo just after the site had reopened after Easter. I turned up unannounced, with a particular request that the site didn't usually cater to, but the owner Nicky was very helpful and thoughtful.
The site is well organised, with landscaped areas left for wildlife, as well as views of the mountain above. I was provided with a good map of the local area (the Beara peninsula) immediately and recommendations for nice walks and local activities. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend this site to anyone interested in touring this beautiful part of Ireland.

Worth the two and a half hour journey every weekend down to this little piece of heaven Nicky the owner is lucky to call home.
Spotlessly clean campsite with the usual facilities showers hot and plenty campers kitchen well equipped
Laundry room reasonably priced with free detergent
Campsite is well layed out spacious pitches hard ground and soft ground available
Swing set to the front of campsite and large climbing frame area to the back of the site
This campsite also has a bar/restaurant on site food is reasonably priced with locally sourced food on the menu that was to die for compliments to chef. Good pint of coors and Murphy’s served at the bar by the barmaids who were friendly and polite. Live music in the evening at the weekend from 9.30-11.30 in the bar and worth a listen.
Nicky the owner is the jewel in the crown friendly inviting and a fountain of knowledge with the area. He will point you in the direction of the nicest beach restaurant bar shop tourist spot you name it he knows it. keep up the great work Nicky and we will see you next weekend
From the Limerick crew

just back from a week in Glengarriff Camping and Caravan Park. Its a great spot busy but you didn't feel you were in top of people. Nikki was great and we were able to pitch our tents in our usual spot. This is our 3rd year here and would recommend it. Bar on site and you can pitch near it or for a bit of quiet there is a lower campsite. Lovely new shower, kitchen and toilet block. Love coming here and will be back next yr.

Relaxing family campsite with free Wi-Fi across the site.
Superb location. Excellent facilities with first class (free) showers and toilet blocks, and laundry. Two campers kitchens equipped with microwave, kettle, sink and lots of worktop space for your own gas hobs. Fall asleep to the sound of the river in this picturesque leafy green site. It’s well maintained, a mixture of statics, caravans and tents across the beautifully landscaped site. Fantastic location for accessing the Beara ring, pretty town of Glengariff and the must visit Garinish island. We enjoyed the short boat ride to the island, the highlight being spotting numerous seals on the shores of the surrounding islands. Also close to Bantry bay with a wide selection of shops bars and restaurants
Nicky the site manager was so helpful to us when our gas cannister failed. You couldn’t ask for a more knowledgeable friendly host. The site has a bar open from Wednesday until the weekend. Great for unwinding without having to worry about driving home. There is also a lounge with tv just off reception. There is designated space for playing ball games, walking dogs on leads and a lovely playground for children. A great campsite whatever the weather. Our family of four highly recommend if you like camping with good facilities on hand .☺️
