Myself and my fiance stayed in Glengarriff Park Hotel from Saturday- Wednesday 11-15th of July. The rate was extremely reasonable (one of the cheapest we could find in West Cork in peak season). I felt very safe there, there was hand sanitizer and social distancing practiced throughout the hotel.
The lady at reception was really friendly and helpful, she always had a smile on her face.
As last weekend was supposed to be my hen party, my bridesmaids wanted to arrange a hamper for me when I arrive- my bridesmaid said whoever she dealt with in the hotel was extremely helpful and really went the extra mile! We received a beautiful hamper full of West Cork goodies!
The hotel is right in the centre of the town and you can easily reach Kenmare, Bantry , the Beara Peninsula and Mizen peninsula from Glengarriff!

Definitely would recommend!

We were 10 guests on a busy weekend in August. We took 5 rooms in the hotel and got great attention and service. We availed of a special deal which included 3 nights bed and breakfast with dinner 1 night and a picnic another day. The receptionist was very friendly and accommodating on arrival taking time to allocate and change rooms as needed. All COVID safety measures were in place and well explained. The service in the restaurant at breakfast from Annmarie was really excellent. She had table ready each day and accommodated all requests. She was very friendly and took the time to tell us about the local area and offer advice to help us plan activities. The village is lovely with a good selection of restaurants and bars all operating well within current guidelines. The surrounding area is also stunning with many activities and beautiful scenery.

Our trip took us to overnight stays in Kilkenny, Cork, Glengarriff, Limerick and Dublin. This was far and away the best accommodation of the trip. I'm sort of laughing at the review that says it was grand 30-50 years ago. The hotel was built 16 years ago. If they had taken the time to talk to the folks that run it they might have learned that. The staff were eager to please and welcoming. Ann Marie is the best!

Our room was spacious, super clean, and felt new. There were plenty of power outlets for charging all of your electronics. The bath was roomy and not a typical European bath "closet". A huge bonus was great water pressure!! And, having an on-site car park was super convenient.

We chose the family suite as our home base for a recent trip. The suite had two adjoining rooms. One room had a queen bed for mom and dad and the other room had sleeping quarters for three kids. This gave us plenty of room to spread out and not feel cramped at all.

The bistro provided an excellent Irish breakfast to power up for the day. Frankly, dinner was above average, but not great.

We also loved the location as it afforded an easy launch point to explore the Beara peninsula...the drive to Castletown Bere affords outstanding views of Bantry Bay. Plus, you're only 25 minutes from Kenmare; a very cure Irish town!

Arrived with the expectation of a basic hotel for a 2 night stay to use as a stop off point on our holiday. Even at that expectation we were disappointed and ended up leaving after first night. Look, if you want a basic stop off with no facilities it’s fine but don’t expect anything more. When we arrived there was no parking at front of hotel as on Main Street so had to drive around back which was no problem only to find we had to ferry our cases in an emergency fire door through the restaurant and into reception. Not ideal! On check in, we were handed our room key and shown to the lift, never told about breakfast times or dinner ect. The room was dated and the smell (of we are not sure yet) was so bad we had to go to the shop and buy a scented candle. In all fairness, apart from that fact the room was clean. TV only had 2 stations, RTE 1 and TG4 which is Irish. About 15 mins after we got to our room we got a call from reception to say that the chef would be going home for the night at 3pm and if we wanted food it would have to be before then. To say we were horrified was an understatement, especially due to the fact that there was only outdoor dining anywhere else available due to restrictions and the fact we were not told on check in. We left the hotel for the day and luckily found a local bar that had outdoor dining, even it it was in the rain. The bar was open for residents that night and looked really welcoming with a lovely open fire so we decided we would have a pint of Guinness each. We were told that there was none, that the delivery never came. First time in my 41 years I ever heard of a pub in Ireland that had no Guinness. We gave in and retired to bed. Breakfast next morning was awful. Lady who took my order had to ask me 3 times what way I wanted my egg and it still came out wrong and freezing cold. Rashers were like leather. Really awful. The people were very nice and i almost feel bad writing this review but people be warned!!!

Stayed at the Glengarriff Park for a night in June. Clean hotel but very middle of the road standards wise.
The tv in the room only aired three channels one of which was tg4. The room itself was clean but extremely small and stuffy.
Pre breakfast we decided to bring down our luggage only to be hopped on almost immediately by the lady at reception who wanted us to pay immediately. I had been quite happy to pay the night we arrived only there was no reception staff behind the counter.
To top it off I felt the breakfast was quite stingy…..coffee or orange juice?Surely a person paying 170 for a night should get the option of both?. Extremely dull and limited breakfast options with floppy damp toast. Will spend my money more wisely next time. Hotel is centrally located but that’s about all I can give it.

The room was decent , but the walls are quite thin and there are noises from other rooms using their toilets etc. They gave us room on the first floor over the restaurant and there was work going on underneath the room we noticed early the next morning. There was a cement mixer going and and some plant machinery from 8 45 am so the room was vibrating. The breakfast was of a poor standard with everything tasting it was reheated except the eggs. We asked for coffee a few times but it did not arrive until we were finished breakfast. The coffee was also freezing cold. When we were checking out the receptionist was busy on the phone during the process so I didn’t have a chance to let them know my experience.

Great location and restaurant and pub attached served a great green curry and poured a nice pint of Guinness.

Be sure to do the blue pool hike right across the road. It’s short less than 30 minutes but beautiful. You will see seals on the rocks and have plenty of opportunities to get in the water if the weather allows.

The Glengarriff Woods Nature Preserve just outside town is worth doing as well. We did the hike that starts with an E… and it took us through great old forest of mossy oaks alongside a mountain stream. Very nice!

Make time to go through Healy Pass. It might not be the shortest route to Killarney but you won’t regret it. Beautiful scenery! Pull over at the top of the pass and hike off the road a bit to take it all in. Superb!

We went for Sunday Lunch in their Bistro Restaurant and when arriving was shown to a table,

We were very disappointed, Shocked and it was risky because of the following

1) There was bits of cocked white fish on the seats and table/floor. I advised the member of staff it was received as an inconvenience and a partial clean up was done still left fish bits on the floor and used serviette.

2) All staff wearing masks except manager.

3) we proceeded to wait for someone to come to our table and notice someone come in after us and get served and received their food before we got our order taken by the manager with no mask on.

4) Nobody had asked for contact details for Covid precautions.

5) Manager returned to table and slammed down a bunch of serviettes and cutlery in one bunch in center of table and left for us to distribute ourselves still wearing no mask or gloves?

6) manager returned with drinks and was rude in her delivery of drinks still no mask or gloves.

7) Dinner delivered without starter first with no mask and gloves by manager.

8) The manager then was rushing round all the tables in restaurant with a clip board in a demanding approach and flustered for our name and numbers with no mask or gloves then a few minutes later the guards came in checking social distancing and I could not see the manager.

9) The food 3 out 6 selected dishes were average and tasteless in particular seafood chowder was watery and roast beef old tasting gravy /Ju and the one boiled potato on plate when I cut into it was black inside.

10) Don't seemed to have Covid approach in order with manager not wearing mask or gloves rest of staff were wearing them. the collection of names and numbers for tracing seemed to be an after thought or they knew guards were coming or maybe a coincidence with timing.

As per title
Shocked with attitude
Disappointed with cleanliness, service and food
Risky based on managers Covid approach

I was very disappointed with the manners and overall attitude of the reception staff at a recent check in and check out... very non welcoming language, one or two words said abruptly, no please and thank you and practically thrown the receipt on leaving.
I think staff would need to learn how to smile and to remember they are in the hospitality sector where they deal with members of the public who pay their wages. I think the staff could do better and manners cost nothing but leaves clients with a feeling they are more of a nuisance rather than making them feel welcome.

We stayed here over a weekend in June 2021. Having stayed previously in the winter season a few years ago we wanted to come back during the summer. The service you get in the hotel is very good, the staff are very professional. The superior rooms are nicely decorated and clean. We had an issue with the shower in the room and they offered to switch the room and also discounted our stay without even asking which I appreciated. The food served here is excellent and they should be proud of it. The freshly cooked breakfasts are wonderful in particular. The eggs are just out of the pan which you don't always get. I think the decor in the bar and restaurant let's the place down slightly as the rest of the hotel looks lovely. Will certainly stay again.

What is the parking like is it off road.

There is ample free parking on the street in front of the hotel or alternatively we have a private car park to the rear of the hotel.
