This is a beautiful stop to rest and relax in luxury before your next stop. So glad I came here instead of going straight to Killarney. This little town is picturesque and has it's own little ring of the Beara Peninsula. Stop here and be spoilt
Leo was a very friendly host - B&B is in a very central location with a good terrace and a small pool but ...... . Clean spacious bedroom with a good shower and tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast was just OK. The downside is the yapping dog next door which Leo admitted was a problem - totally spoils quiet read/relaxation on the terrace which overlooks the river. Night time dog yapping was also a problem. Note - B&B takes full payment up front.
We stayed in an immaculate upstairs room with a private bath in a cozy home with a lovely living room. Our host Leo made sure everything was perfect for us. In the morning he prepared an amazing Irish breakfast.
Beautiful bed and breakfast on the edge of Glengarriff. All local amenities just around the corner, including the boat to Garnish Island. Separate lounge available for the evenings and delicious home cooked breakfast served with locally sourced products. Gluten free bread was plentiful. Would definitely recommend this place. Leo is an excellent host, and his sister (or cousin) who helped in the morning was very friendly. Breakfast was the best on our trip to Ireland!
My husband and I traveled to Ireland in July of 2019. We decided early on we didn't want to spend our trip in a cramped hotel in the city with no charm. This is were Glengarffin comes in - a beautiful little village, West of the city Cork in County Cork. The little village sits right on the inlet - WOW. Next comes a place to stay and this is how we found the River's Edge Bed & Breakfast. First, the Innkeeper, Leo. He was wonderful from our first contact the inn in May to the time we departed. Leo met on arrival, showed us around, made us feel right at home, then showed us to our spacious room on the second floor with private bath. He gave us a recommendation for dinner that was delicious and the best part is the inn is just a short walk from the center of town. The Inn is beautiful and perfectly appointed, we several common spaces for relaxing and meeting other guests. And Breakfast! I've never seen so many choices for breakfast at a B&B - The food was scrumptious! Loved the meat and cheese plater for breakfast! There is a lovely outdoor deck and pool overlooking the river - it truly was picture perfect. We will be back, next time we head to Ireland!…
Fell in love with this B&B! It was perfectly located in the heart of Glengariff and I received a warm welcome from the owners who were able to give great advice on what to see in the area. My room was spotless and cosy and the breakfast was delicious! Absolute value for money, thanks Leo and Mike!
Following the tradition of his family home's B&B, the 'fresh' owner of this site does a very good job from the start. What we got, a bit outside the main season: A very nice view to the old cromwell bridge, a personal welcome by the owner plus quite some extra support with our maybe adventurous way of travelling. When you enter your room, you'll first notice the tiny details: Water cooker and a selection of teas plus mineral water to make you feel at home right away. We were a little embarassed to turn up with walking boots and were kinda fearing we would not fit in the 'classy' environment, but this feeling was going away after a few seconds. The breakfast choice between fruits, continental or irish breakfast is top notch, the dining room is classy and cosy at the same time. It's a very good place to stay for a bit longer and it's definitely a lot of affordable luxury feeling you'll experience at River's Edge. Very, very professional. Thumbs up, Leo!…
