Detailed Reviews
The hostel was very clean, well run, great breakfast (do it yourself), REAL coffee but the best part was the hosts - Siobhan & Mike. They went the extra mile to make your stay as good as it could possibly be. YES I would strongly recommend this hostel (as long as Siobhan & Mike are running it).
Location great.

I stayed here near the end of June, it was very well run and very clean and comfortable for budget accommodation. It is an ideal base to travel to other peninsulas in West Cork. From here you can travel to County Kerry too. Siobhan and Mike were very helpful, giving lots of information about the area.

Fantastic Facilities. Very thoughtful & child friendly hosts (Mike & Siobhan). We ran a 3 day 2 night intercultural camp with 13 Cubs (10-11 year olds) and 6 adults. Dormer rooms (10 bed & 6 Bed) perfect for this purpose, with additional twin rooms for leaders. Kitchen and cooking facilities superb and a lovely relaxation room with open fire. Could not recommend this place highly enough for Scout or Girl Guide groups on weekend camps.

Very clean and tidy. Dorm with only 2 beds. Lady owner very friendly and helpful.
Not a perfect place to park a motorbike. Many restaurants in the street. Rooms at street side can be a little noisy.

Loved my stay here! This is a really great hostel in a beautiful location! Saff are lovely people and very helpful. Hostel is very clean with comfy beds. There's a charming relaxed common room with games, books and piano! and a big bright kitchen leading on to a really nice sunny terrace with village and lovely mountain views. Free breakfast! Come to Glengarriff! ... :-) (ps;visit garnish island and forest while here)

If you are even slightly considering staying at this hostel then stop deliberating and just do it. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Mike and Siobhan who run the place are very friendly, helpful and approachable and they really are doing their very best to make staying at their hostel a good experience. I stayed there with my sister during a three week cycling trip along the wild atlantic way. The Blue Pool was not only the most competitively priced place we stayed it was also our favourite. It's clean, centrally located, relaxed and user friendly. The price includes a decent breakfast and they have a well stocked shared kitchen and a communal lounge with an open fire if it gets chilly. They have dorms and private rooms too and they stored our bikes and Mike even did a good impression of widow twanky and helped me out with my laundry. It's one of the best places I have ever stayed. I hope to be back one day and wish them every success in the future. If you are reading this review now then stop reading and get it booked. You won't find a cleaner more enjoyable or better value place to stay in Glengarrif.
