Detailed Reviews
We were hugely impressed with the quality of the food here. So impressed, in fact that over three days we had lunch twice and dinner twice. For lunch we had lovely chicken and salad and toasted ham and cheese sandwiches. For dinner, my wife had the chicken curry both days and I had the scallops with a lovely cream sauce on the first day and the lamb shank with a scrumptious red wine and mushroom sauce on the second day. The food was cooked to perfection. This establishment is all about the food and does not dwell on frills such as tablecloths or fancy napkins. The proprietor, Jack is a great character and will get you to your table with no fuss and set you at ease whilst you make your selection from the menu or the specials on the board. I could not recommend this establishment enough to those who love good food.

The restaurant at this inn is Jacks Bar, and the very quirky Jack himself will be there to usher you into this great restaurant with magnificent seafood. I had a giant prawn cocktail to start which was made with plentiful scampi, I then followed this with a magnificent Lobster Thermidor. Truly a wonderful meal. Jack and his staff could not be more friendly or engaging. Definitely a restaurant to visit.

We came in for lunch and enjoyed all we had, soup, chowder, mussels, cheese cake, sherry triffle and sticky toffee pudding.
They know how to prepare fish and seafood!
There is something deliciously old fashioned to the whole experience, from the outside to the interior decoration and the welcome and conversation of the owners and food présentation ... all the more enjoyable.

Excellent food and service. Highly recommend this family run restaurant. It has the best seafood available in this part of the world. You will not be disappointed if you stop by here for a delicious meal and they also have some delicious homemade chocolates as an additional treat.

I only had a couple of days in Glengarriff but I made sure to stop here twice for the chowder. I've travelled to Ireland several times, and coming from the Midwest of the US, I always look for fresh seafood every time I go. This place had the creamiest, freshest chowder I've ever had in Ireland, or anywhere for that matter. It was packed with seafood, and was a meal in itself. Of course the atmosphere was very friendly, the beer fantastic and location so easy to get to. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area!

My wife and I have eaten here four times in the last two weeks and each experience was the best.
They pride themselves on fresh fish daily and this lives true.
We have the Prawn Cocktail as our stater on each occasion and they are the very best.
All Fish dishes are amazing and I have the Lobster as my main on the last two occasion.
It was the best I every tasted.

Just had a fantastic very lunch at The Loughavoul Inn en route to Allihies. My husband had the lamb shank which fell off the bone and I had the Thai chilli chicken which was garlic infused and delicious. My kids shared the pepperoni pizza and chips which were both really good - chips hot crispy and salty. Lovely couple and a young waiter Casper serving. Totally enjoyed

All we can say is that food is 10/10 service is 10/10 . We were made extremely welcome by the owners on our arrival. We had monk fish cod and scampi along with the homemade vegetable soup. We were a family of six and everyone enjoyed their visit to the wonderful loughavoul inn. When we visit from the orchard county next year it will definitely be on our list of places to eat again
